LAS VEGAS (March 20, 2012)...Four Las Vegas MGM Resorts properties will host live closed circuit telecasts for "RING KINGS: MAYWEATHER vs. COTTO" on Saturday, May 5 as Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus and The Mirage open their doors for the closed circuit viewing. In addition to the world championship showdown between the undefeated Seven-Time World Champion Mayweather and WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Cotto, viewers also will have the opportunity to witness WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez defend his title against future Hall of Famer Sugar Shane Mosleyin the co-main event. A new lease on life Pires begins second comeback while juggling full-time duties in law enforcement PROVIDENCE, R.I. (March 8, 2012) – Jason Pires will probably be the only person at Twin River on March 22nd with the authority to both start and stop a fight. A six-year veteran of the New Bedford, Mass., Police Department, Pires will resume his professional boxing career Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 at the Event Center in the main event of “Home Invasion,” the official launch of the 2012 Twin River Thursday Night Fight Series, presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports. March 7, 2012 (Hobart, Australia) - The live webcast on WBCBOXING.TV, that was scheduled to show Daniel Geale vs. Osumanu Adama for free, was being shown around the world against the agreement of Gary Shaw Productions, forcing the stream to be cut off in the U.S. and on the WBCBOXING.TV website. Gary Shaw states, "The WBC has violated the agreement that was set in place to show the stream live in the U.S .for free. Because the WBC opened up the feed to the World, GSP had to kill the signal. Freitas returns June 2 vs. Oliveira in Uruguay MIAMI (March 6, 2012) - MO Productions president Carlos Oliveira announced today that the long rumored fight between retired Brazilian living legend, four-time world champion Acelino "Popo" Freitas, and undefeated World Boxing Council South American middleweight champion Michael "The Brazilian Rocky" Oliveira, will take place June 2 at Conrad Punta Del Este and Resort Casino in Uruguay. The 10-round Freitas-Oliveira main event will be contested at 154-pounds. The remainder of the card will be announced at a later date.
