Dear Friends, Fans and Members of the Media, As fight night approaches, mixed feelings start to conjure. Unlike many fighters, calm seems to be one of mymost prominent feelings. The reason is simple, I am definitely less anxious when fighting at home. I absolutely love the crowd. Their support and presence keeps me calm. There’s just something about fighting in New York that’s exhilarating but comforting. When I'm going into the final round, there isn’t much that can be compared to that energy from the crowd roaring and cheering their hearts out. Looking back at the Pavlik fight, I’m grateful. Facing Pavlik was an opportunity that I couldn’t have passed up, even with the short notice. That fight was something that made me a better fighter in many aspects. I came into the biggest fight of my career with tons of pressure from the media, an unfamiliar crowd and fighting a top rated former world champ. The Henry Armstrong Foundation seeks support in raising $100,000.00, in honor of Boxing Legend Henry Armstrong’s 100th Birthday on December 12, 2012. LOS ANGELES, Calif., December 10, 2012 (HAF) –- The Henry Armstrong Foundation announced this week that they are appealing to all media, boxing fans, professional boxers, promoters, trainers, commentators and the general public, for their support; in honoring Undisputed Three Time World Champion Boxer Henry Armstrong’s 100th Birthday. Funds raised will be used in Armstrong’s honor to feed the homeless men, women and children on Los Angeles’ Skid Row, through the Midnight Mission, an organization that was very dear to my grandfather’s heart, and Feed The Children organization, along with providing scholarships to underprivileged high school senior students. Diddy" Smith on Thursday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. Winning by scores of 60 -54 on all three judges scorecards, Hanks dominated Smith from the opening bell to improve his record to 21-0-0 with 14 stoppages while Houston's Smith moved to 11-4-0 (8KO's).
