Golovkin is all muscle .... How was he ever going to make 154 to fight Canelo or Mayweather?....still at 165 a week out.....no way. If I were either one of those guys I'd call his bluff.

-flackoguapo :

But he was 165 30 days out
->http://www.boxingscene.com/30-day-weights-golovkin-165-lb-rubio-1745-lb--82423. That means he has a month to do a 11lb cut once he's in shape. I know a lot of people called me out for saying GGG could make 54, but I have a gambling-buddy who was GGGs sparring mate back in big bear earlier this year, and he told he knew GGG ate hearty to stay comfortably above middlewight .Also said GGG didn't seem like the biggest guy who had to really cut to make 60', said his power was real and so was the way he got ready.

-flackoguapo :

But I might be indirectly getting bias info since I know my buddies trainer is constantly trying to give him an edge in case of future situations. GGG has fought more 54lbers than fights at 54, and at his age getting to 54 when you havent cut in a long time might suck.

Are you a fighter too.... or a spy for one of the major promoters? Thats some serious intel about one of the most promising fighters to emerge in recent years. I guess it could be true ...but he looks seriously cut by fight time. And if he's down to 165 a week before the fight it means he was probably closer to 175 when the contract was signed. Nobodies going to call it in though....he's too dangerous. Even at 154 he's probably still a beast for at least the first six rounds.

Man is 32 years old. He fought at 165 in the amateurs. K2 is spitting that propaganda. Let's see him make it first. It's easy to say you can get down there. But if you can, why don't you? Just like people don't take Bernard Hopkins seriously when he says he can make 160, so should people not aimlessly believe when a promoter seeks to attach his name to the top fighter in the sport for promotional (duh) purposes.

Don't like to say I am a fighter when I'm not in shape haha. But yeah the reality of it is that you can infer GGG would struggle making 54 due to his fight-weight history.
