Good for Omaha! Crawford has some nice skills in there. Gamboa has let 50 pennies keep him out of the ring for too long. Crawford should get a better rapper to walk him to the ring. He can win the rap battle and the fight. Win- Win. I am surprised 50 tried to take Floyd away from the shadow Al Haymon, he should know from being in the music industry how far the shadow's shadow reaches. I think Haymon made some power moves against Jay Z and Beyonce and came out on top. I have to look into that when I have more time.

I will say right off the bat that I am not too enamored by this fight. Styles make fights in this sport and the styles of Crawford and Gamboa do not mesh well in my opinion. Crawford is at his best when other fighters press forward and try to make the fight. He likes to use angles and counter with his very fast hands. However, when Crawford is forced to be more aggressive, he tends to fight in spots and at a secure range. Its smart but not always the most aesthetically pleasing to watch as a fan (see the Klimov fight). Gamboa fights in a similar manner. He likes it when opponents are aggressive and leave openings where he can counter effectively. When he has to make the fight or lead, he does so in spots and also plays it very safe (see the Darleys Perez fight). So we have two fighters who prefer opponents to come to them and press the fight so they can counter. They each like to keep the fight at a distance and use angles to set up their punches after their foes unload. I see them each waiting for the other to lead and in the meantime a lot of posing, posturing and feinting going on but not a lot of punches being thrown. In my opinion, it will be up to Crawford to make this fight in front of his home crowd. We all know Gamboa leaves openings and can be hit. And has been dropped on several occasions. So it may not be out of the question that Crawford presses the fight and makes it somewhat entertaining especially in front of his home crowd. But I think Crawford plays it smart and takes what is given in spots. I think we are going to see an extremely tactical fight play out in which there aren't a lot of punches thrown and landed.

Its on like Donkey Kong Stomping on the ground. Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Terence Crawford is a battle that is making lots of roar like a tornado. Two young guns blasting off to sound of the bell from hell. Oh my god the battle is brewing in Omaha Nebraska, kicking up dust and making lots of fuzz that will be settled with the fists. This is a 50-50 kind of fight but it seems like a case of a 51-50 lurking in the dusk. El Dude.
