BronerEmmanuel Taylor rebounded nicely with a win after suffering just the second loss of his career in his previous bout as "the Tranzformer" lived up to his nickname by changing the momentum of his career. Adrien Broner also has momentum after winning the vacant WBA International light welterweight title in his last bout which, like Taylor, was after a loss in his previous bout that was the first time Broner had ever tasted defeat. Adrien Broner will face Emmanuel Taylor on September 6 at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, OH. Adrien Broner opened as a -900 favorite with Emmanuel Taylor as a +625 dog with the Boxing odds.

Adrien "The Problem" Broner

Adrian Broner is 25 years of age and stands at five feet six and one half inches tall with a reach of 69 and one half inches and fights from an orthodox stance. Broner was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA where he still resides making this bout a home arena advantage for him. Broner is the fourth ranked light welterweight in the United States and is ranked sixth in the world. Broner is coming off a unanimous decision win over Carlos Molina in a ten round bout that took place on May 3, 2014 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada which was for the vacant WBA International light welterweight title. Prior to that Broner lost his first title defense of his WBA World welterweight title that he defeated Paul Malignaggi for as he lost a unanimous decision to Marcos Rene Maidana on December 14, 2013 in a 12 round bout that took place in San Antonio, TX.

Emmanuel "Tranzformer" Taylor

I'm going with Broner by late kayo. Holla!

deepwater2 says:

I can't argue with that. Broner by KO .Taylor stands in the pocket without letting his hands go. Perfect opponent for AB to stand there and pot shot while running his mouth. Just watched a Broner sparring session and he was getting worked over and talking smack. The other boxer started talking smack and said , "another handpicked opponent Al Haymon got for you, huh?"

brownsugar says:

Taylor allowed Algieri free reign to do whatever he wanted and put forth nothing in the way of opposition to prevent the one sided route.
Broner who appears to be rejuvenated and rededicated to sport will use this opportunity to reintroduce himself to the fans and use the win as a springboard to challenge a major player.

Bernie Campbell says:

The fight here depenz, Haydrians next venue is in Washington or Pittsburg! yowww!

I was not impressed with Taylor in his latest bout with Karim Mayfield. Like deep mentioned, this guy stays within distance but that's as aggressive as he gets. It's easy for him to say he picked out what Maidana did to be successful in his bout with AB (almost as easy as it is for me to type about it) and can do something similar but that aint nothin' but a bluff. Maidana is an erratic, big cojones out-law type willing to cross paths with lions and no disrespect to Taylor but I just don't see him being cut from the same cloth. IMO, the guys that will trouble AB will be the ones that put him in that "flight or fight" mode. He seemed to fight stunned and in shock when he fought Maidana and MM was able to capitalize on that with the already naturally low out-put, selective puncher AB. I see Broner taking this fight 9-3 and hopefully we see him in with some better competition.

Here's a video with Broner in his latest camp. WARNING: he is not being cocky at all and seems to be really calm and I think it's because he's dead tired and not so much a change in personality.Lol.. He also explains who his all time favorite fighters are- Mayweather should be cashing Broner out for making him seem like TBE....

Let's hope Taylor puts some good effort in on this fight.. When the chips aren't with Broner he doesn't do well..

Taylor is not a bad fighter. His problem in the ring is not talent or skill but instead is that he doesn't fight in a manner to maximize his abilities. His talent gets him through the C level fighters with no problem or those that are past their prime (Karim Mayfield for example) but has issues when he steps up to the B and A level.

If Taylor puts it altogether, he could give Broner a decent run for his money. But if Taylor lets Broner dictate like let Algieri do in February, Broner will have an easy time of it. What I mean by dictate is that Taylor follows Broner around the ring not cutting it off and puts the ear muffs on way to much while hesitating to let his hands go. If Taylor fights in that manner, well Broner could have a walk in the park. But if Taylor can cut the ring down some, work behind the jab consistently and not hesitate to let combinations off, we could end up seeing a decent scrap here on Saturday.
