Mashantucket, CT/New York, NY - (10/11/2011) - Top-rated super middleweight contender, Edwin Rodriguez (19-0, 14KO's) has re-united with trainer Ronnie Shields, at Shields' camp in Houston, TX, as the two are putting the finishing touches on an intense training camp in preparation for Rodriguez' upcoming bout against fellow undefeated prospect, Will "Power" Rosinsky (14-0, 8KO's). Rodriguez will square off against Rosinsky on the DiBella Entertainment nationally-televised ShoBox: The New Generation card from the beautiful MGM Grand at Foxwoods, on Friday, October 21st (Live on SHOWTIME, 11PM ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast). The bout against Rosinsky, the most important and toughest to date of the yDBEoung Rodriguez career, will be his second with the top trainer Shields. Rodriguez-Rosinsky is scheduled for 10 rounds in the super middleweight division.

"I am thrilled to be back in Houston with my trainer, Ronnie Shields.  I had a great three weeks sparring with Chad Dawson, and came to camp in tremendous shape.  Ronnie and I have been working on a game plan for our upcoming bout against Will Rosinsky.  I cannot wait to show the world how much I have improved under Ronnie," said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, already rated in the top 15 in every major  sanctioning organization (IBF #5, WBC #6, WBA #8, WBO #12), is on the verge of fighting for a world championship in 2012, but he must first get by the New York-based Rosinsky.  Like Rodriguez, Rosinsky was a stellar amateur, winning the New York Golden Gloves four times, as well as the 2005 United States Light Heavyweight Amateur Championship.
