  • Ray Flores Talks Juan Manuel Marquez Retirement

Ray Flores Talks Juan Manuel Marquez Retirement - The last few weeks have seen a number of high profile retirements as Wladimir Klitschko and Tim Bradley both hung up the gloves officially.

Earlier this week news came out of Mexico that former four weight-class world champion Juan Manuel Marquez had officially called it a career. Marquez just turned 44 years old on August 23rd and he has not officially entered the ring since May of 2014 when he won a unanimous decision victory over Mike Alvarado. Since then Marquez has flirted with the idea of retiring but the allure of one big fight kept him from making it official. Most recently, Marquez had talked of a fight with Puertoo Rico's Miguel Cotto but this week'announcement puts all that talk to rest.

Marquez leaves boxing with a fine 56-7-1 overall record, including 40 wins by way of knock out. Next stop, the hall of fame.
