 ONTARIO, CA.-Aron Martinez eked out a majority decision over Alberto Herrera in a close welterweight fight that went all eight rounds on Friday. In an evenly matched fight between East L.A.’s hard charging Martinez (19-2-1, 4 Kos) and Riverside’s veteran boxer Herrera (8-9-1, 5 Kos), it came down to the judges at the Doubletree Hotel on the Thompson Boxing Promotions card. Martinez started quickly and stunned Herrera with a left hook in the second round during a furious exchange of blows.
