Sam Peter got another crack at a Klitschko two years after Vitali dominated him. Solis, if he simply sticks around, will likely get recycled as well. There is no need for his promoter to insult our intelligence by campaigning for an immediate rematch right after this fiasco finished. (Hogan) Hey, Odlanier Solis. You made a bucketload of cash for "fighting" Vitali Klitschko. You and your crew, including promoter Ahmet Oner and manager Jose Perez, should probably just skulk off, fondle your money and stay low for awhile. DUBLIN, Ireland -- Sailing away from the coast of Cuba, he didn’t imagine it would lead to this. A sharp March breeze stung Guillermo Rigondeaux’s face as he walked with head lowered through the parking lot of the Citywest hotel. Regarded as the greatest amateur boxer of modern times, Rigondeaux defected from his communist homeland, leaving behind a wife and two children to reap the trappings of professional prizefighting. His expectations of success likely didn’t involve facing an unbeaten Irish brawler at a hotel on the outskirts of Dublin during St. Patrick’s weekend. Tags:CaseyRigondeaux... Read more...

KOLN, UNDER A CRAZY MOON - Vitali Klitschko's ballyhooed battle with Odlanier Solis turned out to be a flop. The primary question in the fight's immediate aftermath regarded whether or not Solis did a flop himself. To a jeering swarm at sold out Laxness Arena, and a gradually more diplomatic Team Klitschko, it seemed that way for a little while, although they immediately deferred to pending medical evaluation. Lucian Bute needs to seek out the best and the brightest at 168 pounds before he becomes a lock for pundits' pound for pound top twenty (and above) lists.
