This Saturday night sees WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (37-0) is defending his belt against undefeated challenger Gerald Washington (18-0-1) in Birmingham, Alabama as the main event of the Premier Boxing Champions on FOX.

Washington is stepping in on short notice for this fight as Wilder was originally scheduled to face Polands’s Andrzej Wawrzyk (33-1) but the once-beaten challenger tested positive for a banned PED. Wilder last fought on July 16th when he stopped Chris Arreola in 8 rounds but he sustained a broken right hand and he injured his right bicep and he has been on the shelf since. As for Washington, we last saw him on that same card July 16th when he scored a fourth round stoppage win over Ray Austin.
