Not sure if any of you have been watching tonight's boxing over Merseyside but there's been a good few fights which offered a good look at some prospects, 2 gold medalists so far and another to come in 6 ft 6 tall Anthony Joshua.
Golden Boy's Anthony Ogogo beat his man in a 5th round TKO (was not impressive but he said he wants to push the distance..)
Luke Campbell beat a very tough and awkward Welshman in Woodruff in a UD.
Stephen Smith also got a UD, looked less than comfortable until the middle rounds but he got the job done..
Callum Smith (Paul and Stephen's brother) just had a very good scrap against the tough Vladine Biosse. Biosse can take a sledgehammer to the jaw and still stand, he's nails and proved it tonight. Callum for once couldn't get his man out of there early and had to display his boxing. Boxed on the back foot, on the front foot and strung together combos all the way until the final bell. A great display, expect to see him on the Porter Brook undercard stateside in a months time.
The Welsh Dragon Nathan Cleverly's about to come on, should be a good display. After that is AJ and then the main event with Bellew.
Cleverly got the Argentine Cruiserweight champ out of there with 2 lefts to the liver. Easy opponent for him but if Bellew can follow suit with a win, then they'll face each other next which should be a very good fight.
Joshua dispatches the 47 year old 12 year veteran Skelton with a jolting right hand. He's got real power and athleticism. What we also saw was the development of his jab, very good weapon at this stage and it's only going to get better.
It's over, Bellew got Julio Cesar with a textbook left hook after the 1-2. Boom, beautiful punch bang on the sweet spot. No way back for Dos Santos after that punch, Bellew looked in good shape and strong at cruiserweight. Tony and Nathan should have a good scrap very soon.
