    GAMBOA QUOTES

"Objective is to get him to the middle range where I can use my speed."

"Logic says to carry a little more weight as you get older, so I'm comfortable fighting at this weight."

"The training camp is going perfect."

How are you preparing in this training camp? "General conditioning and working on specific objectives as we draw closer to the fight."
Working with Floyd Sr? "We worked on defense and counter punching.I know I tend to put my hands down and we worked on that."
Strategy vs Crawford:"The game plan is to attack from the start, be on the defensive, and develop the fight from there."

His state of fighting activity and inactivity. Are you worried about that going into the ring with Crawford? "I'm not worried about that one bit.I'm not only active when a fight presents itself. For me inactivity is when you are not training at all but I'm always training."

Re: Gamboa: "Game Plan Is To Attack From the Start"

I wouldn't fancy Gamboa in a counter vs Counter fight because Crawford is young, fast and has enough of a punch to drop you. Sure Gamboa is explosive but will he be able to catch Crawford?

You know what.. I wouldn't be surprised if he can, I would believe him possible of doing it. It's going to be a very exciting fight and i'm glad great fights like this are happening. Gamboa has been on the shelf a little to long, if Crawford is quick early he might be able to take advantage of the gathering rust on the Cuban. We will have to wait and see!

Re: Gamboa: "Game Plan Is To Attack From the Start"

When I heard that this fight was made, my first thought was that it would be a very tactical affair. I saw two counterpunchers trying to set traps and using feints to get the other to lead.

However, if Gamboa does as he says (we will see) we will have a very fun fight to watch. Frankly, I think he needs to attack to win. If he sits back, I do see the slicker and technically better Crawford picking him apart.

Lets hope what Gamboa says is true and we will have an action packed fight later this month.

I'd love to see Gamboa win, but equally I'd love to see Crawford win. This is what boxing is all about, two hungry fighters scrapping it out in every department, using every inch and every ounce of will to claim victory. 2014 has been very kind to us boxing fans.
