DeGale is a good choice...and the best choice on paper. Some observers thought he beat Groves in their close fight.
But Gonzalez doesn't like playing the B side.... As he showed during his tussle with Oothuizen. I think Gonzalez has learned about his short comings from the encounter and would not be surprised to see an upset.

Go Gonzales.... win it for the red white and blue!!!

I think its going to be hard for Gonzalez to take a decision against DeGale. I also think he firmly believes this as well.

Gonzalez is going to fight more aggressive. By doing so, it will give him a better chance to get the KO. But that is not his natural style (more of a boxer/puncher) and will lead to him making more mistakes.

I don't see him being able to knockout DeGale. I see a doomed game plan from the start from Gonzalez. This is the kind of fight, like the Oosthuizen fight, that will one day make him better down the road. But I see him losing a decision here in a valiant effort.

DeGale is a pinpoint puncher with solid power, and a good boxing pedigree. He could have Froch a serious run for
his money and will make a great fight with Groves if and when the rematch happens., although I think Groves will be riding high off a win over Froch and the momentum will carry him forward.

Gonzalez will be against an 80,001 opponents, not including the judges who could be heavily swayed by the massive crowd and fear of riots before the main event. Every time DeGale lands you can be sure the crowd will cheer. They'll be baying for his blood and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a stoppage by DeGale. Accurate powerful shots all night and a riotously crowd can have a massive mental effect on any professional.

Going with the home team for this one. DeGale is solid as a rock, and I don't think it will be easy for a challenger to come to England and defeat him. And as Skibbz points out, home turf tomorrow will not be just anywhere in this beautiful island, it will be in front of 80'000 British boxing fans, in the greatest city in the world. Good luck to the Gonzales, but I wont be throwing my money away on him.
