That Philly statue should be of the late, great "Smokin'" Joe Frazier. Everything about his fight game was an actuality and reality.

Big screen Rocky was just mythical bulljive. And a lot of his screen play was real game that he stole from SJF. Holla!

I agree with RG. Smokin Joe is a way better Philly icon. That statue is of the muscle bound Rocky from Rocky 3,4,5 and so on. Rocky ran up those steps and struck that pose in the first movie. Anyway Smokin Joe was real life. He should get his just due.

    Smokin Joe is sorely missed.

I last saw him in Columbus, sitting next to Buster Douglass, they were sitting casually and peacefully, I was about to head over and start some conversation then it him me, Frazier looked old and worn down, why bother him. So I didn't.

I do wish I told him of all the great stories my dad told me about him and the numerous fights I shared with my dad watching him.

    Man what a left hook.

Yeah,.... agreed, I remember footage of Joe hitting sides of beef getting ready for a fight.... had to listen to the Ali/Frazier I on the radio... a nail biting experience filled with drama and excitement. best boxing match I ever watched with my ears.
