Keith Thurman vs. Shawn Porter On For Dec. 12

The Sweet Science

A side versus A side, that's what we fight fans want. No rocket science to it…bells, whistles, great, whatev…But we don't deserve gussied up pigs with garish shades of lipstick smeared on 'em to make em appear presentable–we deserve the best fighting the best.

And when you present that to us, we will tune in.

To that end…I'm hearing we got a date and site for a solid A side versus A side tangle, from the PBC people.

Keith Thurman (26-0), the talented and slightly eccentric–in a good way!–Floridian, will tangle with muscle-y Shawn Porter (26-1) an Ohioan coming off his career best win, over Adrien Broner. They will perform a welterweight waltz, of the violent variety, at some venue, on Dec. 12.

That is the info I'm hearing and I have messages out to confirm tighter…

Lol... sometimes the pigs have to slather on the lipstick when they get invited to the ball, in the hopes of being chosen by the elite..... let them dance to the music first so they can be eliminated by those with a discerning eye too make way for the beauties who await just beyond the veil. I dont know what I just said but seriously, this will be an enjoyable scrap, whomever loses is young enough to fight again. A lot of junior middleweights and a few middleweights and some 168 pounders have also been eliminated from the title scene during the voluminous PBC cards that have been presented this year, the remaining cream has no other options except to fight each other. 2016 will be an even better year than the current blockbuster laden year of 2015. Give me Thurman for a dramatic late round KO.

Good fight! Leaning towards Thurman myself but not by a lot. If Porter keeps him backing up he can stay safe(ish) from Thurmans power and out work him. WW division is heating up!

Porter by UD... Thurman can't fight at all on the inside and doesn't like "rough fights"

Good, Good fight. The two best contenders. Thurman is almost the man. But he goes dry in fights - runs out of ideas, coasts, if he was a musician, he?s be spending a lot of time playing scales why he tries to think of a song. During his lulls, Porter will be strafing him, perhaps after surviving a knockdown or a wobble. I don?t know how resilient Thurman is - I have a strong feeling that he gets outworked after a food first four rounds, loses by UD or late stoppage, depending on whether he can take it - because Porter can bring it.

Thurman has a bit better timing and coordination but he slows down at the end of fights. If Porter can keep it close he has a great chance of closing out the last three rounds in his favor and taking a UD. Great matchup and looking forward to it.

Oh wow!, now that's an epic fight worth looking forward to.

I heard ya! "One Time" Thurman has no inside game. And like his opponent easy, softie and lame. "Showtime" Shawn is going to body snatch. And upside da dome, dat running sucka he is going to catch. Holla!

-SouthPawFlo :

Keith is obviously offensively gifted, but that chin isn't the best and we all saw in the last fight, he don't like shots to the body either... Porter is explosive, although he gets a big wild I think he's gonna give "One Time" fits in this fight, except Thurman to bring his bicycle....

-Shoulder Roll Defense :

Everyone is quick to point out Keith's vulnerability, but what's good for the goose is also good for the gander. Shawn Porter was dropped and hurt by a moderate punching 140 pound Adrien Broner and Keith hits a lot harder. I expect Thurman to stop Porter by late round stoppage.

Syet happens! Don't be surprised to see "One Time" pull out. He cannot handle this work. And a train could not stop "Showtime" Shawn. Holla!
