Wow some of you pundits said it would happen. Canelo will be competing Head to Head with Floyd with Oscar's blessing and HBO's helping hand to make sure it happens.....Competition is good in any capitolist venture. The fans should be glad as this move will force "somebody" to come strong or stay at home. Lol....Oscar says he was "ordered" to make the move.

Yup. It was just a matter of time. HBO is looking good.

I love it. Canelo has fire and wants to excite and put on good shows, not just snake a paycheck. I have been saying Canelo needs an exciting fight head to head same night as Floyd's next one for 15$ less.

Canelo can order all he wants, it doesn't make a difference. HBO has no say in the decision to go on Cinco, PPV industry does. And Floyd Mayweather has that date booked. If Floyd is going in May, do you really think they would run head-to-head shows with Mayweather? Doesn't take a genius to guess who they will feature.

shadow, maybe you can shed some info, I hear the MGM may date is commited to Golden Boy not Little Floyd? also what dance partner will Floyd pick? to compete with Canelo on the same day? The May date is in for Canelo with the mexican holiday, and they are giving Floyd the shaft. I can't see Oscar matching one of his promoted fighters ( Khan ) on the same day. Same with Arum, if and I say if? Floyd changes heart and want to fight Manny on May date, I don't think Arum will go for the may date. Al Haymon is gonna have to do some real homework, and figure this one out,. Showtime is gonna be double thinking and pondering al Haymon's theory,of his fighters come first at all cost, even if showtime is not keeping his customers happy. Espinoza might be asking Al haymon for a job pretty soon.

Good to See Oscar back to work and making big deals..... I still don't think it's a good move to "threaten" to challenge Floyd on PPV, the last time HBO/Sho time challenged each other on the same night was when Canelo/Lopez were on the Same night as Martinez/Chavez and both of them lost out...... Canelo is a PPV star that can't be taken away from him, but his two PPV's in 2013 didn't add up to 1 Mayweather PPV...

This is a terrific move by HBO. In Canelo they have a young, attractive draw who has years and plenty of exciting matchups and possibilities in front of him. With Golden Boy and Top Rank now on more than speaking terms, HBO's Ken Hershmann will have much to smile about in 2015. -Randy G.

In no way do I want to miss out on fights, I am just asking for competition to lower the ridiculous 75$ ppv prices.. OF course I am a die hard boxing fanatic. However, I am a parent first, middle class and raise a son without anyone throwing me a bone........So I am picky with my ppv purchases...... I try to be sensible and limit myself, I hate to waste money even if I have it. A few years back, or maybe a year ago there was a GGG ppv on a european card with some decent fights for like 25$, I bought that event in a second. Sure with higher level fighters you need more revenue to pay a stacked card, but with so many ppv's this year and high prices, in a crap economy I have to be picky. So yes I am asking for some lowered prices, one way or another. I would be happy to get something like Boxnation here in the states..

Viva el Rey, Viva el Canelo. Haymon and Mayweather are backed into a corner, boxing isn't a one man party and the dreams of the few have fallen to the moves of the many. Great for boxing, great for Canelo and Oscar and most importantly to us viewers, great for the fans.
