What Counts You’ve gotta hand it Bernard Hopkins. He’s been telling everyone how great he is forever and few took him seriously when it counted. Ex has always had a way with words; the words that flow effortlessly from his mouth; the words he forced and forces others to eat. But now, after dismantling Antonio Tarver with such ease in A.C. Saturday night, the post-mortems have ceased, the naysayers are silent, those who thought they had the last laugh can’t help but notice who’s laughing now. B-Hop promised his late mother he’d retire at the age of 40, but Hopkins at 41 has just made history and his bleak options of a few months ago now look pretty rosy. Should Hopkins keep his promise and hang up the gloves? Should he take on Calzaghe, RJJ, etc., and reap the millions sitting on his doorstep? Or has Hopkins earned the right to do whatever, wherever, whenever he wants? |

Witter A Slapper, A Flapper (A Career In The Crapper?)
"Another upset! I keep making the right bet. I never thought for a moment that Witter was a good boxer or a hitter. He is just another slapper and a big-mouth flapper. In the hurt business, no word can hit you like a fist. He got knocked on his butt, and his words didn't cushion his fall. Hopefully, he will now shut up. More of today's boxers should learn the art of hurting, and cut out all this garbage of hyping. All the sightings of "Big Foot" and "UFOs" have been delusions, but these sightings of upsets in 2008 boxing are hard realities." ---TSS reader Radam is lovin' the upsets
