Originally scheduled to fight WBC champion InJin Chi for the WBC title, Juarez (23-1, 16 knockouts), an Olympic silver medalist in 2000, demonstrated his vaunted power in spots, especially in the seventh round with a pair of left hooks that had Soto hanging on at round's end. But Juarez lost in a unanimous decision before 9,096 fans.
