Mayweather-Mosley On For May 1

By Michael Woods

It is not The Superfight people craved, and it may not, frankly, even be a super fight, but boxing fans nevertheless are by and large cheered by the news that Floyd Mayweather will take on Shane Mosley in a welterweight clash.

The bout will likely take place May 1 in Las Vegas, and will be presented on PPV.

The final contracts haven't been signed, but Mayweather associate Leonard Ellerbe presented the deal as basically sewed up to ESPN's Dan Rafael.

So much time and energy, maybe too much time and energy, has been spent discussing steroids, and PEDs and testing, after the 32-year-old Mayweather unilaterally decided to refashion testing procedures, at least when it comes to Manny Pacquiao. The Mayweather-Pacquiao May 13 showdown for P4P status blew up because of Mayweather's demands, and then Mosley's Jan. 30th clash with Andre Berto was cancelled because Berto was understandably distracted by the natural diaster in Haiti; thus, we are left with a fairly hastily crafted Plan B.

The 38-year-old Mosley has agreed to undergo blood and urine testing, as has Mayweather, Ellerbe said to Rafael. Fight fans will want to know the specific terms, as Mosley has admitted under oath that he used illegal performance enhancers under the guidance of juicing expert Victor Conte. Will Mayweather insist and receive assurances that the testing will truly be random? Will there be a window of testing, or could Mosley be tested an hour before the bout? Will every Mayweather bout now be overtaken by talk of testing?

A scrap between Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs), the five-division champion, and Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), the three-division champion, would have been a Superfight had it went down five or so years ago. But Mosley could turn into a graybeard on May 1 in front of our eyes, with a healthy assist from the superlative pugilist Mayweather. Still, Mosley is arguably the most dangerous foe Floyd has met since he turned pro in 1996, and he'll be motivated; one figures he'll need no extra chemical push to excel, with the opportunity to earn megamillions and take away Floyd's O at hand. Fight fans hope that the energized Mosley they saw take out Antonio Margarito a year ago will enter the ring against Mayweather.

Are you happy, fight fans? Can Mosley present a problem for Floyd? Or will Mayweather make  Mosley look as mediocre as the fighter who underwhelmed against Ricardo Mayorga in late 2008?

Weigh in!

the Roast:  Awesome. Floyd steps up to the plate like we all have wanted. I like Floyd to win by UD but Shane will have his moments. This could be a great fight. The styles should mesh. Shane will be the aggresser and Floyd will box. I cant wait. Whoever wins can call out Pacman for the late summer superfight. I cant wait!!

Tyson:  Michael nice job hating on the fight. This is not a super fight. Isn't Mosley ranked 3rd in the world P4P. It is the 2nd biggest fight in the boxing. Yeah Mayweather could win going away and he is definitly the favorite, but Mosley is the toughest fight on paper of Money's career. Nice job punking out Shane Mosley, a 1st ballot hall of famer. Wow some of you guys I don't know how you write some of this stuff. Not a superfight, you should be ashamed you even wrote it. Yeah Mayweather should fight Paul Malignaggi instead of Shane Mosley he only has 3 losses.

Robert Curtis:  This news makes me very happy. Floyd will win because he has to. But Mosley will not go gently into that good night.

donputo69:  Wow!!!!!!!!!....im shock!!!!!!!!....scareweather FINALLY MAN UP....lmfaoooo.......but then again...scareweather might come up with another B.S excuse...Lets see what happen going in to late april where the fight stands...but if is on, then lets get it on....My early prediction...Mosley by TKO...holla back!!!

Anonymous user:  mosley by tko 11th round!!!
Friday Jan 29, 2010 11:43:10 PM
onthemoney:  Shane Mosley's victory over Margarito, a plodding fighter with slow hands, has resulted in his stock being vastly inflated. Mosley is a good fighter who was outboxed and consistently beaten to the punch by Miguel Cotto, presumably the slower fighter. According to Compubox, Shane Mosley landed 32% of his punches against Cotto, who is not defensively elusive; even worse, as far as his prospects against Floyd Mayweather are concerned, he landed a paltry 16% of his jabs, throwing 439 and landing 71. Floyd Mayweather will defuse Mosley's aggression with his defense, making him miss, and making him pay. From the permiter or from inside, Floyd Mayweather is a more skilled operator than Shane Mosley. It might be a superfight on paper, but in reality the only super-fighter entering the ring will be Floyd Mayweather. The other fighter, Mosley, is still good, but he no longer has the dynamic, elite hand speed and movement to beat a fighter with Floyd Mayweather's defensive and offensive abilities. Floyd Mayweather, boxing virtuoso, will beat Mosley, an old fighter, in conclusive fashion, once again demonstrating that he is the most skilled boxer in the world.

Isaiah:  I'll believe it when it happens. When the bell goes ding, both fighters are in the ring and start to swing, then we can talk. Mosley by UD and no exscuses from me on anything, unless Mayweather wants a 140 pound catchweight and wants to hook an IV to Mosley's arm during the fight. This really does seem like a dream being that this is the fight that should have been made all along. Someone tell me I'm not dreaming and Mayweather's grown a pair. Wow! All Mayweather has is a slight speed advantage. Can you all believe this?! No height advantage, weight advantage and big time NO testosterone advantage for the Scareweather! Is this actually happening?! Don't chicken out KenDUCKy Floyd! All eyes are on you, you fake piece of crap! I tell you all one thing! SURELY, this shows you how broke Floyd is getting, (At least in his eyes) when he HAS TO fight Mosley! This is a 50/50 fight! Give it everything you've got Mosley and don't stop punching until this joke is unconscience!

ultimoshogun:  Awww yeah, this one's gonna be a good one. Sugar Shane will definitely force Floyd to fight and bring out the best in him but I still see Mayweather stepping up his game and winning by decision.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:10:37 AM
Boriqua:  So Mayweather stepped up & took on "Sugar" Shane I see..... Good 4 him. His resume at Welterweight need some pizzazz. Lol
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:13:23 AM
donputo69 @isaiah:  lmfao....good post....ok everybody...is not official YET...they both agree to fight each other...same $#!t happened with pacquiao...THEY BOTH AGREE....and then?...BOOM!!!!!...fight is off...so is not official yet...the contract needs to be signed...but looking ahead?...this is what i see...scareweather will say something like this....HHHUUMMMMMM...WHY DID I TAKE THIS FIGHT?...DIDNT I TOLD THE WORLD THAT I WILL NEVER FIGHT SOMEBODY THAT TOOK STEROIDS BEFORE?...I WISH I HAD AN EXCUSE...HHHMMMMMMMMMM...LETS SEE....BINGO.....I HAVE ONE...HHHMMMM HMMMMM HMMMMMM HMMMMM HMMMMM THATS SCAREWEATHER STUTTERING....LOL...ANYWAY...HERE'S HIS LAME @$$ EXCUSE...I WANT MOSLEY TO TAKE OLYMPICS DRUG TESTING BEACUSE HE TOOK STEROIDS IN THE PAST....LMFAOOO...mosley will say no, and there goes the fight...down the toilet....lmfaoooo...i can see that happening down the road....MOSLEY TKO.....holla back!!!

John Herndon:  Mosley is going to take Baby Floyd's O come May 1th!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:15:03 AM
ali @ donput 69:  Money Mayweather is fighting maybe a more dangerous opponent then Pac for less money so u can't say he's scared of punk ass Pac lol!!! Now I understand u think Mayweather will find a way out of this fight but watch my boy is going to show the world why he is #1p4p.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:16:44 AM
donputo69 @ ali:  scareweather did it to himself...he could of fought pacquiao on march 13 if his dumb@$$ wouldnt come out with that b.s olympic drug testing...so is not pacquiao fault...as for pacquaio?...trust me...he's not fighting an easy opponent...clottey is GOOD...he fought 2 very close fights against margacheato and cotto wich both fights could of gone either way....DONT SLEEP ON CLOTTEY....holla back!!!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:27:15 AM
frankm:  numb hands against the (?) victim of balco. numb hands knows mosley is not as fast, and may not have the legs to run after the chicken. way to go chicken mosley, you may only hit numb hands hard 5 times during the fight, shane make it count and have the real superfight with manny. 25' x 25'- jr by run away UD 15' x 15'- mosley by ko in 2 rounds
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:30:41 AM
ali:  Im loving it all you Mayweather haters what do you have to say now....oh I know the fight won't happen or Mosley is old or Pac is alot better or Mosley was rusty or the blood test made him weak a bunch of bulls*hit. My boy is going to beat the Sugar man then if the Pac man what to take these test he's going to get his ass kicked next...thats if Clottey don't beat him to it.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:31:42 AM
donputo69 @ ali:  No excuses here buddy...like i've said before...IF SCAREWEATHER WINS, MY HATERMETER WILL GO DOWN FROM 10 TO 9....LMFAOOO....but youre not gonna hear no excuses from me...and like i also said...THE CONTRACT IS STILL NOT SIGNED...holla back!!!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:46:27 AM
The Saint:  Does the author need attention THAT badly? The contract has not bee signed and the fight is "on?" Especially when Mayweather is involved, the fight is NOT on until the first punch is thrown.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:00:14 AM
ali @ donput 69:  I believe u ....I just don't most of the Mayweather hater the say they will give him credit but watch what they do. #1Pacfan will say he's going to give him credit then swith up and so many other will follow like some straight suckas.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:02:22 AM
Isaiah@donputo69:  What's good man? You know Shane Mosley will agree to almost anything to make this fight happen, but that don't mean it will happen. CowardWeather will find SOMETHING that Mosley won't do just so Little Floyd can say Mosley ducked him. I really want to be wrong on this one for once, but I doubt it. Walking into the ring, Floyd will have to go to the ermengency room to have her diaper changed.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:02:23 AM
ali @ Isaiah:  Tell me what's going to be your excuse or should I say excuses after my boy beats him.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:06:43 AM
Isaiah@ali:  No exscuses from me man. If Mayweather wins, I will have no exscuses. i will be here the day after to give full praise to Mayweather. Will there be any from you if Mosley wins?
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:11:37 AM
donputo69 @ isaiah:  Lmfaoooo...you think so?...diaper changed?....lmfaooo...thats $#1t was funny....lol.....i though he was gonna say something like this: uuummmmmm......can i have a nevada doctor/official to take 2 lbs of blood off mosley please?....Remember....IS A RANDOM TEST...so it could be between rounds 4 and 5 that scareweather will ask the referee to take more blood test from mosley....thats just my opinion....lmfaooo...holla back!!!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:14:09 AM
DaveB:  Mayweather has finally been hemmed into a corner. Just sign the contract big boy.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:15:57 AM
ali @ donput 69:  You a fuck*ing fool... ITS A Random test so it could be between 4 and 5 lol!!!!!! Mayweather will ask the ref to take more blood test from Mosley LOL!!!!!!! whatever homie got to want sure this fool ain't cheating/
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:35:20 AM
Hatch:  The contract has not been signed? Wow!! You're article is all talk with nothing to say really. There ain't gonna be a fight! It takes two to tango one of the pair is a pure-blooded coward (no balls) who will never fight Pacquiao, Mosley, Williams, Cotto and Margarito. No news here...move on!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:37:10 AM
dp69 @ali:  Hey...anything is possible these days...lmfao...he might ask the ref to check his blood pressure...or ask the ref to take the mandetory 5 minutes so he can go running back to his lockeroom and take more blood test...true story...anything is possible with scareweather...holla back!!!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:39:46 AM
Fe'Roz :  So, Ellerbe says it will go down May 1st. Did he say What Year ?
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:43:02 AM
ali @ donput 69:  Damn!!! My boy Mayweather is the much of a buster I don't believe that sh*t for one minute. He will show you what up in this fight and Pac and Fredie Roach won't want none of the money man.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:44:50 AM
Real Talk bout to beat the breaks off some cheeks:  Shane gon get @$$ whooped! Every.....or how we say in D.C. ery'body know it. His jab aint long enough, his science aint strong enough f___er. =) This is going to be a gooood one, and Floyd facing Mosley is more dangerous than Pac facing Clottey. Clottey has been slowing down for about 2 years now. His headbutt is his best punch.....hahaaa! This is a lil mental game back at'cha. Floyd fights the dude who team Pac wants no part of after Pac fights the dude Floyd so called aint want no part of. Good points @ Tyson and onthemoney's first sentence is an echo of my post from months ago. @ Michael Woods this aint a superfight? If this aint then what is? We'll see about that. I would've preferred Floyd to take another fight but Mosley been out thee ring even longer so...hey. Some of these jokers can't separate promoting a fight from real life. It's all good...you gon spent that bread to watch him....hate'em or love'em. Pray to watch him get his a$$ whooped or watch to see the sharpness...)=-( It aint been a fighter this hated and loved since Ali. Shanes got a punchers chance, the skills and discipline, focus and sharpshooting belong to Floyd. Order the fight babyboy....that's all LOL. It's a lot of estrogen up in the universe, sound like some of yous pms'ing. I mean did this man crack ya moms or something....emotional...unstable creatures like females ...lmmfao. Woo....Me,myself,personally...I'm looking forward to this one. This is what it's all about....legacy! Unfinished business...that's what they should call this one. LET'S GET IT ON!!!!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:10:21 AM
Isaiah:  Let me go ahead an put up a couple of great Mayweather qoutes for you all since it seems this section is white hot right now and we're gettin so many responses here, we're probaly giving ESPN a run for their money. Money? HA! That's funny. Anyway... Here's a little something for all you Mayweather lovers. Mayweather quote 1 when talking about Manny Pacquiao: "...Well, we didn't ask your promoter. We asked you. Do you want to make the fight?" Mayweather quote #2 directly after the Marquez fight during the Mosley arguement. Max Kellerman says "What about fighting Mosley?" Mayweather says, "Uhhh, uhhh, well... ummm, ummm.... Shane Mosley. (says his name twice) Shane Mosley is one heck of a fighter, but you're going to have to talk to my advisor Leonard Ellerbe about that!" Quote #3, someone says, "What about fighting Miguel Cotto?" Mayweather says, "I can't. Miguel Cotto lives in Puerto Rico." Quote #4, Mayweather says, "I'm my own boss!" Look back at qoute #2! Ha! You all remeber the verbal beatdown R A the Rugged Man gave to Floyd to about Paul Williams and everyone? Who really thinks this Mosley fight will go through? I hope so, but I still doubt it.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:13:07 AM
crottyruh:  OK, alright.... for now let's give Floyd the benefit of the doubt. Let us all for once THINK he will finally take on Mosley. Who knows? maybe he realized by now that indeed he blew up the chance to earn top dollar for an easier fight. Maybe he now realized that without fighting top welters like Shane and win it, we will never ever get a change again at fighting Manny and/or get 50-50 purse take. If I were Floyd I'll be more than glad to take this fight and prove among others, that his greatness is not something that you see at face value.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:23:15 AM
crottyruh:  Face value - also read as 40-0
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:36:19 AM
Isaiah:  Someone got owned in the "His hands must be faster then a New York pickpocket's" article. I'll give you all a hint. It wasn't me.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:38:23 AM
Isaiah@ali:  I wasn't talking about you, but call me what you will. The truth shall set you free.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:48:51 AM
Real Talk bout to beat the breaks off some cheeks:  Shane is game and his hall of fame status won't change. Dudes is lame an I think they p_ssy for brains. Remind me of ex spouse need something to b!tch about, what when May chew Sugar Shane then sh!t'em out. What about this man's hands did yall forget about...he gon have take respect since yaz won't give it out. It's comical, is this TSS or ROMPER ROOM. Ya dudes know the boyz skillsets phenomenal. Shane gon get cooked like ribs on the Barbeque. Naz gon have his boy ready to dodge a few with gameplans that's gon get spoiled insane man. My bait in the room ready heated like an oven, so on that note...you know what it is cuzin....Dueces
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:49:05 AM
Isaiah:  @Real Talk. Dude, I can barely understand a word you type. "Naz gon have his boy ready to dodge a few with gameplans that's gon get spoiled insane man. My bait in the room ready heated like an oven, so on that note...you know what it is cuzin..." End quote. WTF did you just type?! I'm a hater all right! A hater of improper English, you better believe!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 02:55:29 AM
Real Talk @ Isaiah:  You aint hip to the spit, cuz yous like pool table...square n green! Let me say it your way. You're not hip to the spit because you're like a pool table...square and green. Now back to my channel. You can't get in my business slim if you had an MBA. I'm from the school of hard knocks...book smarts n street smarts. I do this because I can nephew! It's call slang. We invent languages inside the english diction and switch'em like sex positions or seasons. I'm like the government, to go against me is treason. Don't come for me bayboy, you aint earn that. Get 'cha weight up on some these new boots in here. You ever heard of pig latin...clown. That happens on the regular. Did you know bootylicious is a recognized word in the english language now? ......PIPE down PEANUT, come big or stay away. When I get up later today I'ma see what you say. I can sit right in your face and speak a code you can decipher. The way I type iz creative, it's art ....like grafitti. You might not understand or like it but it's here to stay ERKAL. POOF!?*%
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 03:14:57 AM
Isaiah@Real Talk:  Erkal? I ain't black and I don't wear glasses. Try again as you spew to the masses. If going against the goverment is treason, consider me the George Washington of the season. What? Did that history lesson hurt your brain? America was founded by treason we MUST sustain. Let me take the history lesson one step further. from England, we escaped from murder. All they ever gave us back, was Lennox Lewis, Vicky Fatton and food that sucks jack! Let me take you back to the present, while you still live like a pheasent. Obama sucks as a President and to those who scream "racist", keep screaming like a brain washed resident. I bow to no one except Jesus Christ. If you don't get that, I'll say it thrice! But, to save your head from going to explode, you can go ahead and fall back into relaxation mode. I know excatly what street smarts and book smarts are. I've been blessed with both a plently and did I take long enough to respond and did you miss me? I enjoyed this little talk for real and I forgive you for all ill, but if you ever want a round 2 with me, better step your English language up G. Peace be with you brother.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 03:40:20 AM
nate_brawl:  A fight that could have been 10 times more significant done 6 years ago. But I'm not complaining now. Let er rip!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 04:24:09 AM
brownsugar:  I see the usual prolific population of haters still aren't convinced,..flowing the their predictable and gutless hatred with the obsession of a stalker chasing after Jessica Alba,.... have to admit though,....I'm a bit curious as well,. everybody around Floyd says the fight is on,... except Mayweather himself,.. as if everybody on Floyds Team has made this decision on his behalf,... and they're now trying to brow beat him to sign on the dotted line... Floyd is one of the best boxer of his generation as far as I'm concerned,..no one can tell me different,.. but he really needs this fight,..in more ways than one,..and the world needs to be a witness,... let me know when it's a done deal and all wrapped up... hope those brittle hands can hold up if it's true...
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 04:33:15 AM
roger:  Don' t be too excited guys, I'm sure that as of this moment Duckweather's camp is brainstorming on what would be the most reasonable excuse that they could make so as this fight will not happen. Only believe your eyes when both of them are already on top of the ring and exchanging punches and Mosley catch the Duckweather flush on the chin and down he goes.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 05:30:40 AM
Chuck Norris:  I have returned! Don't get stuck with Chuck! Before we all get really excited about this match, we all need to hear one thing. Mayweather needs to make a statement to the public. Something simple like, " I have signed the contract and am ready to get this fight on! " Seriously, that's all, a bunch of people around the world need to hear to back off of Mayweather. In fact, it doesn't even have to be Floyd that says it if he's too busy. If Leonard Ellerbe or Oscar De La Hoya can truthfully confirm this beyond all doubt, then let's get this party started!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 06:03:51 AM
TheTruth:  There is no way Floyd is losing this fight. If he was fighting a Sugar Shane of 6 years ago, this wouldv'e been a super fight, Even a 35 year old Mosely wouldv'e put up a great fight. But a 38 year-old Shane Mosely.... cmon now! Easy work for Floyd. Just being real.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 06:49:50 AM
gratide:  Glad to see PBF FINALLY fighting someone his own size even if he is 38 yrs old . I believe Shane can put the boy in his place , hurt him ,beat him up a bit for a change . Floyd might win , but he will know he has been in a fight !
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 09:08:05 AM
Martin Shamrock:  Just about time Floyd face someone his own size., someone that has the potential to beat him but until i see it signed and sealed i will not believe any of it. Hearing this news from Ellerbe is like hearing it from a ghost, Ellerbe is a joke and a con man, the only reason he is around is to stroke Floyd'e huge ego and hold his towel.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 10:59:03 AM
Jason:  I never thought it would happen. This is great for Floyd, great for boxing. We'll know what he's about after this fight.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 10:59:07 AM
MisterLee:  @ Tyson. Yo, you suck. Mosley is technically the 2nd best welterweight in the world, Floyd is 3rd. In all honesty, Dan Raf got it right on espn, Mosley still is number 1 ranked welter in the world b/c he beat the best in the world in 2009. Pacquiao beat number 3 or 4 in Cotto and got boosted to number 1 b/c of politics and nuthugging. My brain: Floyd will outbox Mosley easily and give him problems all night. My heart: Mosley will pressure him, give him handspeed and power and give him more than he can handle. Actuality: The fight will go the distance b/c they both have a great chin, mosley has decent defense, and they both have great stamina. I would say UD for Floyd, a possible SD for Mosley... a possible stagger or two on mosley's part... but the problem is once floyd is tagged, it's hard to follow up b/c his defense is so good. In welterweight, mosley doesn't have one punch knock out power... so his only choice is to dig to the body early, and go for accumulated late round TKO, which is hard with floyd's rolling and dipping and shoulder rolling and slipping, but if mosley hits floyd with some of the same shots that oscar and marquez did in their fights, he might actually down Floyd once or twice. For a psychological advantage he should hire Freddie Roach as an asst. trainer. Holler!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 11:51:30 AM
Caveman Lee doing flea dance...:  Okay... other truths: Floyd will not hurt Mosley. Floyd will not go to the body. Floyd will not have high output. Floyd will only use: 1-2, lead right, check hook, lead left, 45 uppercut straight right, over hand right. Wow! What an artillery! Mosley definitely has more ammo than than. The gambler can be a profiteer or a fool, TSS rules!!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 11:54:34 AM
kountedout:  they said that they have agreed on everything all left is just signatures. if the fight happens i agree with Onthemoney, mosley beating a slow flat footed margarito have given most ppl an elusion. but look at the mosley/cotto fight where mosley was being outboxed by cotto. now put floyd in the mix you have someone who is faster and has excellent footwork combined with experience. not saying mosley is not gonna compete but he will look old in the ring with floyd. i see floyd winning by UD
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:08:00 PM
Radam G aka Humble PRG a MOST Humble PacManite:  Play a violin for Lil' di** Floyd or hit him with a brick. This dude is just trying to get rich. This guy is a bum fighter from a family of bum criminals who always looked for an angle to cheat. Panama Lewis he is not. That's a righteous man that's been sullied by a $hitstorm for no reason. Resto did it, not Panama! Floyd will get beatdown because he has a glass jaw and is a turtle-slow fighter that slaps like Slappy Joe a lot, especially in the amateurs. The powers that be are the guilty ones in the perpetratin' of this fraud. Floyd is gutless person. Uncle Rog will be rottin' in a prison cell makin' love to a burly beast and Pops Joy will be selling drugs to da children of America while Floyd slaps those strippers! Holla!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:11:22 PM
Tex:  Mayweather is gonna shut him out. I think Mosley is great, but this fight is wrong, wrong, wrong for him. Everything from styles to in-ring activity is working against him. Calling it now: Mayweather is again taking the easy way out. For all of you who are loving this fight, calling it for Mosley, etc... you're just legitimizing a Mayweather PR campaign. What's sad is not how you're getting tricked... It's the way you'll react, with utmost vehemence, when we point this out yet again after he wins against Shane. Mayweather by UD, 116-112.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 12:37:35 PM
deepwater:  Cant wait. go mosley
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:43:42 PM
mortcola@Tex:  Hi Tex - Mayweather can easily win this decision. But Mosley is still the most "live" threat, skill AND style-wise, Mayweather has faced. He will make Floyd fight, and he will throw a much wider arsenal than DLH. But, we'll see.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 01:44:05 PM
DaveB:  Mayweather should have the advantage here in that Mosley is not at his best. I think everyone can acknowledge that at 38 Mosley is not the same as he was at 30, but I do think this fight is winnable for him. Do I think it will be an easy night? No! But I do feel that if he fights all the way through from the opening bell, not trying to look for a knockout and not getting caught in Floyd's traps, working behind his jab and controlling Floyd, there is no reason why he can't win. Oscar fought a smart fight against Mayweather for half the fight and was winning. Working behind the jab, which seems to be a lost art these days, Oscar controlled the fight and wasn't getting countered. I'm not talking about coming out and shooting your whole load and then wearing down because you are tired but fighting a smart tactical fight. Is it possible Mayweather could win? Absolutely. But this one definitely has some intrigue to it because Mosley definitely can win too.

MisterLee:  Yo guys are pre-printing excuses for Mosley already. Mosley is a man inside and outside of the ring, he doesn't need a pre-planned excuse from Floyd-haters. I'm not a fan of Floyd, but this has gone too far. Really, this is a great in the making, but don't go on saying Mosley doesn't stand a chance and that this is another "pushover" on Floyd's resume. Mosley is young and fresh, and has Nazim RIchardson in his corner. Chances are, Mosley has spent more time in the gym in the last year than Floyd, and Floyd's fight agst Marquez hasn't prepared him for jack, so I see an even fight, not an easy one for each, and we all know Floyd's best sunday punch couldn't hurt Mosley on any day of the week. Floyd has a low output, ,and Mosley who's faster than Marquez has the speed and power to hit Floyd with his right any time, just like marquez did, but with more power. I'm looking forward to this fight, win or lose, I'll shut up some if Floyd follows thru with this fight and fights mosley. It's gonna really set up a pacquiao bout with the winner fo' sure! Tho i secretly think floyd still wants nothing to do with pacman. Holler!

Radam G:  I'm with Tex. FMJ is going to have easy play, and make SSM pay. This bout is indeed all wrong for SSM. FMJ is one "fightin' fool" -- a comment in boxing that the fakers, faders, posers, cloners, lack-of-money makers, low-budget takers, haters, pathetic jokers, gloom-and-doom hopers, cyberspace stalkers, $hit talkers, Jive-turkey walkers, Pied Pipers, the rat-brain-like scumhikers who follow those B-B snipers don't know. OH, YUP! I'm on a tirade, so deal with it, and drink your haterade. "You don't know $hit 'bout boxing," in the words of Uncle Roger May. I can see the writing on the wall. FMJ can beat the holy snot out of SSM and still get robbed. FMJ has stirred the pot of those who don't like -- in his words -- (his) "black a$$." There are boxers getting robbed everyday by some three-blind-mice-like senile-arse judges. The ref may just do a quick TKO on FMJ. This hurt bitnezz is some royal, unrighteous, fudge-you $hit. (Those who have never been a part of it, don't have a f*cking clue.) FMJ is in trouble, and "trouble comes double," in the words of the great Buffalo Soldiers. FMJ wants the American people to treat him like a soldier. Well, they are going to treat him like a traitor-soldier and/or deserter-soldier. Unless he can pull a quick beatdown and stoppage of SSM, FJM is in deep kim chee, though he will be able to hit SSM at will, and beat him worst than Winky Wright did twice. I deal with reality. Everything is stacked against FMJ, and those in the know with the know and with cojones know what I'm talking about. Holla!

The REAL Radam G, aka Humble PRG:  Wow! The clone has struck again! That fool needs to double his dosage and get a life. PacMan is great, but the GOAT is Floyd Mayweather. Here's what I wrote on Tuesday Feb 19, 2008 02:23:59 PM. I have done my research. And now I am convinced that Floyd Mayweather may just be the greatest \\"Pound for Pound\\" fighter of all times. I matched his skills, talent and moves with the late, great Sugar Ray Robinson. I fed it to a computer program that my brother -- a computer programer -- designed. And my brother is one of the top cats in this field. He designs programs for various agencies of the United States government. Anyway, PBF beats Sugar Ray in every way. I am not going into detail. But Robinson -- at 5-9 3/4, but listed at 5-11 -- had trouble with short, mobile boxer-bangers. Twenty-two of his 26 losts are to fighters shorter than 5-7. The first person to beat him was 5'6-and-3/4 Jake LaMotta. The next was 5'8 Randy Turbin (may be misspelled). And the shortest fighter who did a job on Sugar Ray was 5'5-and-7/8 Carmen Basilio. All you haters keep drinking your haterrade and get angry all you want, but the truth is the truth. You know Sugar Ray Robinson would have had difficulties with Pernell Withaker, Hector Camacho and, big time with Roberto Duran. It just goes to show you that styles make fights. And since Floyd \\"Money\\" Mayweather has problems with no particular fighter, he is indeed the ultimate P4P king of all times. Mayweather beats down, tall or short, banger or boxer, starker or slugger. I think that the powers that be should do a computer bout between \\"Pretty Boy\\" Floyd aka \\"Money\\" Mayweather versus Sugar Ray Robinson. It would be a thriller. After all, the powers that be did a bout between Muhammad Ali versus Rocky Marciano. Holla!

Fe'Roz :  Shane is saying it's done so I'm a believer. And frankly, as long as these two meet in May, I don't care much about the mechanics of the negotiation. I just want to see a fight. Shane did however say there was a re-match clause. How that may or may not impact a 'Winner gets Manny' sweepstakes, we can talk about later. I assume Floyd will be retaining the rights to fight a re-match in in the unlikely event that he loses. Shane, I don't imagine will get that same clause. Despite his achievements, the reality of boxing business is that Floyd holds the cards; Shane needs to fight to get them. He must win ... or look damn good losing... for him to get to meet Manny. Either way, I'm thrilled once the announcement is made official. BTW, unless SSM gets old in front of our eyes, I see Floyd winning a decision.

Radam G - kudos 2 RT:  Naku! Wow! Real Talk got his game face on, and his flow is hitting like a sweet song. I think somebody oughta let it go, "It looks like another luv' TKO," in the righteous flowing song of the late, great Teddy Pendegrass. Real Talk is coming heavy and poetically justified with his spit. He is revealing suckas who don't know $hit. They need to take a dump, and decrease the size of that belly bump. They need some blood, oxygen, nutrition and C2O circulating to that peabrain, so it can grow. Than maybe they can be real instead putting on a grade-school show. Holla!

Radam G:  On Feb. 18, 2008, Money May was the best around. He is still the best boxer around -- and a boxer great. In todays hurt bitnezz, the best boxer = Floyd Mayweather, the best fighter = Manny Pacquiao, the best banger = Shane Mosley, the best puncher = JuanMa, the best mixer = Bernard Hopkins, the best shocker = Tim Bradley, and the best hardluck = Miguel Cotto. Holla!

Radam G cloning the clone's clone:  I've seen some wacked $hit in my life, but this clone that's clonin' the clone's clone has gone mad! Holla!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 03:50:53 PM
Tex@Radam (or clone, or something like that?):  Computer programs are great, but real life is much better... and in real life, Sugar Ray Robinson beat Lamotta five out of six, and Mayweather isn't the GOAT.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 04:04:45 PM
Radam G @ Tex:  Quit making excuses for SRR. He got his a$$ whipped, PERIOD! A prime a$$. Don't tell me all this crap about how great he was. He was just above average, period! He was draped with flaws. SRR had problems with short, mobile bangers and boxers. What is the excuse for 5'6 1/2 Ralph Jones tapping that Sugar man's a$$? All I have said is that short, mobile boxers and bangers owned SRR. Now if a sub-journeyman figher Ralph Jones beat a prime SRR, BULLSPIT if Money May would not starch that a$$. Forget about how many bouts he fought. That was the times that they lived in. Nowadays, a boxer would not be allowed to box five or six bouts in a month with injuries. This is what Robinson and other boxers of yesteryear did. So be realistic, not brainwashed and hyped up on nostalgia. That's what I've been trying to school ya'll on regarding Lapdog Larry Holmes. He was an overrated bum. But Money May would beat Ray nutty. This dude could not last eight rounds with Floyd, who IS the GOAT. Holla!
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 05:14:48 PM
oskar:  If this is true... I guess Pac/PBF set back gave PBF some balls, Well he should have taken this a bit sooner but better late than never... I guess we won't going to see Pac vs PBF after all but we'll going to see Pac vs Mosely for the welterweight championship putting PBF out of the picture courtesy of Mosely.
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 05:43:50 PM
Tex@Radam G (or who I hope is his clone):  "Above average"? That's your tag for Ray Robinson? "Above Average"? You're the one making excuses and twisting facts, my friend. Robinson beat Lamotta five out of six... yet you use that one loss to claim that Mayweather was a better fighter that would have beaten him? Awful logic. If Floyd Mayweather fought a prime Jake La Motta six times, you can bet your house he would have at least lost once, and probably twice. As for Ralph Jones, talk about you cherry-picking out of a bunch! Robinson fought 200 times in his career. You picked out one little moment in a storied career and called a whole picture on it. Even then, your premise is faulty. "Prime"? Look at your red and greens on the career chart. Robinson was NOT in his prime. His loss to Jones came at a time when he was on his decline. Apparently, your computer program doesn't teach you how to look at charts. You can make your own excuses to help you belittle Robinson's long career, but you darn well know that your boy Money wouldn't be undefeated if he had NEARLY as many fights as the great Robinson. THAT'S an excuse. Your "logic" is tilted toward your man. GOAT? HA! Good luck with that! The Boxing public will NEVER buy into that hype. Majorities aren't always right, but they are in this case. By the way, you know who was in his prime when Robinson beat him? Henry Armstrong. Oh, and Fritzie Zivic. And Jake LaMotta. And Kid Gavilan. Graziano (who had his career ruined at that point). Bobo Olson. He also would have had a chance to fight for a title earlier in his career, against better fighters, if the mafia had not locked him out of title competitions. The funny thing is, though, that this verdict i already rendered. To declare Floyd Mayweather the GOAT is so absurd, so utterly insane, so outside the realm of the critical Boxing fan's considerations, that none of the monologue's you are certain to post in this here universe will ever matter... because he's not. Mayweather hasn't done nearly enough to earn that consideration, and he won't. Yeah, he'll win his fight against Mosley, and yeah, he'll win his little PR war victory in the meantime, and yeah, his fans will cry racism every five minutes, and yeah, a few nitwits will jump on board... but in the annals of history, no matter how many "victories" Borges declares for him, he will always lose this debate. Here's to Robinson the GREATEST of all time. Maybe your computer program can tell us who would win a fight between the ninja turtles... you and Gavin Evans can bet against one another. Just don't expect us over here in reality to get involved.

Twik Brown@Real Talk:  Keep doing what you do, man! First, that poser Isaiah, who's talking about how white he is, needs to learn that his English is not proper. Stroll up and take a look at his bad spelling and subject-verb agreement and bad gammar in general. I cannot believe that this guy thinks that he is dissing you. I don't know why he is faking and posing so much. I think that he has an identity crisis. This guy is race switching and TSS readers' loyalty switching. One while, he's white, and is upset that white fighters are not getting enough credit, then one while he's talking black and calling a TSS reader who he never names a racist. Isaiah also started name calling the editor for supposely letting readers, including the unnamed one get away with posting racist comments. IMO Isaiah acts like a zebra. Maybe he is white and black. Then sometimes the guy is all over Floyd Mayweather like a b*tch that gave it up and got a wham, bam, thank you maam! Isaiah questions Mayweather sexuality so much that I find it strange for a straight man to be going off like this against another man, unless he is pizzed about a failed luv connection. The switching of white and black and AC-DC of this guy, I find very bizarre. I've been checking out this place out off and on for almost a year. Floyd Mayweather may be stealing some of your flow.

Saturday Jan 30, 2010 11:19:23 PM
MisterLee:  No offense to anybody who disagrees or says otherwise, but I would rather not hear the pre-packaged excuses, as a tru "floyd hater" i'm glad he stepped up to the 2nd most highest grossing fight in business and the 2nd or possibly the 1st most dangerous fight out there in 147. It's funny, everyone including myself were cryihng for pacquiao or mosley, and hating on cintron malignaggi and campbell, and pple COMPLAIN when some great fight of this magnitude is made. Mosley has been keeping busy in the gym, and I expect the same Mosley that came out around Jaunrary 24th, 2009 agst Margarito. He has Nazim "That Darn Genie" Richardson in his corne,r and he gonna whoope some ARSE' for sure! Then a lot of you MOsley doubters will say "Floyd was exposed! I knew it all along!" I hope mosley wins, then floyd will the use the immediate rematch clause and we'll see it again! Holler! "
Saturday Jan 30, 2010 11:55:07 PM
MisterLEe:  Mosley is officially the number 1 ranked welterweight in the world, RING crapazine has it wrong putting Pacquiao as number 1 when he only beat the 3rd or 4th best welterweight in the world. Mosley rules 147 with an iron fist. I hope after this fight we see mosley cotto, mosley williams, or mosley pacquiao. Holler!

Sunday Jan 31, 2010 04:30:47 AM
RED:  Successful boxing is about maximizing skills while minimizing risks. That, of course, is what fighters have to manage inside the ring. Floyd has become a master of these tasks outside the ring, too. By taking fights that are attractive to the public while staying in his comfort zone, Floyd has built a career like few other athletes. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a knock on Floyd. Roy Jones did the same thing for years while he was riding the P4P limo. I for one I’m glad to see Floyd vs. Shane. Like everyone else, I’d rather see Floyd fighting Manny. However, it’s become obvious that Floyd doesn’t think this is the right time to take on the mighty Pacquiao. The reality is that both Manny and Floyd can face whomever they want as fights involving them represent boxing’s offer that no one can refuse. Shane wasn’t going to reject Floyd no matter the preconditions set for the fight to happen. Beggars can’t be choosers, which is why Manny is fighting Joshua Clottey and not Floyd. Manny is no beggar.

Isaiah:  @Realtalk. Sweet comeback man. By the way, George W. Bush can suck a big one too. You're all right man. Who are you pulling for in this fight? My gut's telling me Mosley by UD because I think Little Floyd's number is up. Mayweather's number of losses is going from 0 to 1 faster then he can throw a jab. @Anyone else. By the way, anyone who calls Sugar Ray Robinson, "just above average" is clearly insane and needs to be locked up with their meds. Nothing anyone in the world says or does will ever take Robinson out of the #1 spot. To a hater or 2 of mine on this site, I'm really invisible aren't I? Is that why I'm on your mind constantly you idiot? Wow, the best you can come up with is talking about what I said about the Urkel comment covering all of one sentence and you desperatly trying to find one word I misspelled. Pathetic dude. LASTLY. @Big Rog and MisterLee. Keep up the good work fellows. Let's make sure chaos doesn't overrun this place.

Radam G @ MisterLee:  Ditto, you are so right. But, like always, it is up to the powers that be. They are letting these nutcases and paranoid freaks turn this once fine site into a cyberspace hangout for escaped Looney Tunes and sorry pple who roll through life making excuses for their bottom lives and feeling entitled about it, and believing that causing chaos and talking nutty uplift them and shows the Toppies. What a delusional reality of nothingness. Man, this site shows me why so many at the top of life ____ _____ _____. Holla!

The REAL Radam G aka Humble PRG:  I'm not paying any mind to these clones! The regulars know what time it is. Floyd Money May is the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) and Sugar-less Ray Robinson is the product of hype, hysteria and hallucinations and whacked, nutcase nostalgia. If you want to read MY words on the subject, just google 'The Sweet Science Mayweather BWAA Fighter Of The Year 2007' and ya'll can read MY rhyme, reasoning and rationale as to why Floyd is the GOAT. Then holla at me, 'cause those lyrics that I spit are mine and not a clone[s]! Holla!
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 05:19:06 PM
swift:  I have heard it all now. Floyd is the greatest of all-time?? He's not even the greatest welterweight in the last 15 years! Damn, Sugar ray robinson beat 10 or more hall of famers, and now he's second fiddle to a guy who's biggest win was at 130 lbs. (chico)! He's been a welterweight for 6 years and has yet to have a signature win. Oh, wait a second! He did fight Carlos Baldomir...
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 05:49:43 PM
Hakim:  I've seen and heard it all now...i almost vomited after reading the Mayweather BWAA FOTY 2007 article because that was no fake Radam or whatever...he sais Floyd Mayweather is the GOAT and continues to argue it while all the readers stomp all over his ridiculous argument. See for yourself...comes right up on google...an old sweetscience article.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 05:57:23 PM
MisterLee:  Regardless, Radam is my top p4p writer on this site, and every writer is their idiosyncracies... comes w/ the package. There are plenty of pple on here that say SRR is the greatest, he may be, but that don't make them more knowledgeable or better writers than Radam. Just say you disagree and move on. Radam boma ye!!!
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 06:15:30 PM
Isaiah:  I disagree and am moved on. Ha! Love of money is the root of all of evil. Money Mayweather means nothing.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 06:20:46 PM
Radam G:  What is your point, Hakim? I stand by whatever I've post, despite what some nitwitty clone post and that my posts are censored (knocked down.) I've always and I will continue to believe that Sugar Ray Robinson had a lot flaws. And recent fighters and nowadays one, including Money-short May could beat his arse. Any human can beat another human on any day. (Nobody controls what I think.) But SRR was a GOD to a_____s. But that GOD offically lost to Jake LaMotta, Gene Fullmer, Ralph Jones, Carmen Basilio, Randy Turpin and even some bums beat him. A sparring mate by the name of Earl "Silky" Wilkerson beat him on the regular in the gym. I don't tell you what the fudge to think, and you definitely cannot tell me $hit. You believe SRR was a God, not I -- the same that I don't believe about Money-short May and Pera Pac. 2007 has nothing to do with 2010. The world changes every day, a____! Who you are calling the best in 2010 could changes in 2013. FMJ was my best P4P in 2005-2008, Pera Pac is my best P4P in 2008 - now. And when it changes come, so it is. Nothing stays the same, but brainless arseholes! (If you don't get to read this, it is on the TSS powers that be. It appears to me that every darn thing that that clone post stay in this Universe. But when I post, my $hit disappears. Why is that? Frankly, "I don't give a damn!" If haters don't know me by now, ______ _____! Holla!
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 06:53:29 PM
Isaiah:  Money Mayweather lost the first Jose Luis Castillo fight in most people's eyes. The Oscar De La Hoya fight could have gone either way and Floyd saying he whooped Oscar bad is an insult to anyone alive. Floyd looked ordinary in sparring against Paul Spadafora or whatever his name is. I saw the clip and Paul gave Floyd all kinds of problems. It was an even sparring session to the T. Floyd is an overrated, severly egotistical piece of trash who only appeals to fools who think money will buy their salvation and they are in for a RUDE awakening. Zab Judah DID knock Floyd down and just because it wasn't called doesn't mean Floyd's glove didn't touch the canvass. Rewind the tape and pause it right there to see what I'm talking about. If Zab could breathe normally for more than a few rounds, Zab would have beat Floyd hands down. No doubt! Floyd isn't what he thinks he is! Sugar Ray Robisnson's record was once 110-1-2. He also had to about 85 or 86 fights before getting a shot at the title. Wow, he lost to Jake Lamotta 1 out of 6 times and that was Robinson's first loss in over 100 fights! Yey, I guess Floyd MUST be better than Robinson. LOL! Robinson fought the best possible opponents. Floyd.... Not so much. In the rematches, hmm... Let's see how Robinson did... Ko'ed Gene Fullmer with one of the best punches ever, mopped the floor with Carmen Basilo, mopped the floor with Randy Turpin. Yey, they beat him, but on any given night, anyone of them would have beaten Floyd to. Honestly Tss universe! Put all the facts together and Floyd and Sugar Ray Robinson both in their Welterweight primes in a ring together. Who did Robinson beat at this weight class and beyond and who has Floyd beat at this weight class? Look at both men's technique. NOW, WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD WIN? Floyd would lose to the Sugar Man 100 out of 100 times if Robinson was injected with horse tranquilizers before each match! Robinson didn't start really slipping until he turned 35 and fought more hall of famers then Floyd would walk into a room with! But yeah, I guess Floyd WOULD HAVE BEEN A COWARDS FAVORITE! HOLLA BACK TO THIS SON!
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 07:25:14 PM
Radam G:  Put it down! Let it be noted! That i and the great guru Manny Steward also believe that Tommy Hearns would have beaten Sugar Ray Robinson at lightheavy as Joey Maxims (Name may be spelled wrong) did. Personally, I believe that Hearns had a good chance of TKOing the Sugarman at any weight. Why is what I believe about Floyd Mayweather Jr coming up anyway? Sugar Ray Robinson duck Charley B and about five other ebony-colored pugilists. He'd had duck PBF, Sweetpea Whitaker, Hector Camacho, Sugar Ray Leonard, Don Curry, Marvin Haglers, Sugar Shane Mosley, Tito Trinidad, Bernard Hopkins, Superman Roy Jones Jr and a lot of more fighters of the last 25 years. I will never get caught up in believing a lot of the mythology and bullspit of yesteryears. Why don't you Ebonicans, Urbanites, TSS clones, the readers and writers behind the clones, haters and posers talk about Roger Mayweather's stupid $hit about Filipinos being able to walk through bullets, and "bullets bouncing off (our) a$$es." Nobody seems to have a quick interest in that craziness. Why don't somebody write about the false $hit that Uncle Roger has spitted, since I have offended your jingoistic arses by talking mentioning that SSR is no GOD, and a lot of boxers can, did and would kick his arse! Neither is PacMan a GOD! Go to Examiner (dot)com and hit "Roger Mayweather says Pacquiao uses same drugs Filipino soldiers used to be 'bulletproof,'" WAFA! A-Side Meth, my ____! Holla!

aljamieson@Fe'roz:  I don't post that much, but this fight will end with Shane by Split Decision, re-match in September. Bank on it.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 07:41:47 PM
Hakim:  So Radam, 23 months ago Floyd Mayweather was your best P4P fighter of all time, THE GOAT, and now he's not? In that article you said ALL-TIME, not circa 2005-2008. Let me correct you there. Go back and re-read it. It's all there. That must have been your clone, because I actually believe that your smarter than that. I don't believe for a second that even you could have wrote that. It must have been a clone. A clone who was in the midst of an aneurysm. Had to be. As it was among the most idiotic contentions ever made.

Isaiah:  @Smiley C. "You are always trying to switch sides in everybody's STUFF." LOL! Check again. I've never liked the foolishness that guy spits and especially the HUGE butt kissers like yourself that ride him so much you have to buy tickets for it. Unlike him, I don't need someone to jump up and defend me as you or he aren't man enough to defend yourself by yourself. It ain't my fault not EVERYONE here is kissing that butt. I can always count on you and a few other huggers to defend that helpless little delusional kid who thinks he knows everyone ever. I also NEVER said Sugar Ray Robinson couldn't be beaten, but there just NEVER would have been a time that Floyd Mayweather would have done it.

Isaiah:  Did I turn that Smiley face into a frown? You think I really care who's top list I'm in? What? Do the top 5 in here get a paycheck or something. NO! I'll go ahead and say whatever I feel like and I rest my case as I see that destroy either one of you with ease on on one so once again you have NO CHOICE, but to doubleteam. Doesn't suprise me none coward.

Isaiah:  I'm neutral with MisterLee. As far as a couple of other guys in here, they sound like they're part of the ChickenWeather clan. Cluck, cluck, mother....

Radam G -- very last response on this:  Hakim, whatever I said in 2007 about Sugar Ray Robinson and Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather Jr, let it stand. Let it be! I meant it! I'm not a flipflopper and no punk. Nor do I care what a know nothing think about me. I'm not the first, last or only person in boxing who won't call SRR a God for the benefits of ____. And I still don't believe that Sugar Ray Robinson could have beat most of the elite welters, lightmiddles and middles or the last 25 years. Tell me how many southpaws did Sugar Ray Robinson fight? He didn't only duck the black murder row, I think that he also ducked southpaw murder row. I'm going to research that $hit. Like any boxer, who knows his $hit and been there and did that, I don't give a ____ what any internet_____believe about me. Anything that you want to put on me back to you a hundred times. And I'm going to get the genie Naazim's opinion on Sugar Ray Robinson. Naazim would have a fighter to kick Sugar Ray Robinson's arse without getting diabetes and cavites, lmfao! Since you like to talk about 2007 $hit, Hakim, quote me for 2010 and tell me that $hit in 2013. There are 25 boxers in the last 25 years who could and would have kicked Sugar Ray Robinson's arse! One of those boxer is Sugar Shane Mosley -- off the steriods. He'd have swan without getting wet. Nobody makes me believe in yesteryears bullsh*t. I hope by 2013, that we have a time machine and we could see a prime Sugar Ray Robinson get his arse beatdown. Holla!

Isaiah:  I'm here to speak my mind. If that doesn't make me popular with everyone, oh well. I guess I'll manage somehow. Frauds and blind allegiance are everywhere. The truth shall set you free.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 08:59:43 PM
Hakim:  LOL, Ray Robinson has been on top of virtually every P4P list since that mythical list has been in existence (and Muhammad Ali himself considers SRR the GOAT P4P), and Radam G's list changes...every 2 years to whoever is atop the list of the CURRENT P4P list. LOL. Let me guess, Pacquiao is the GOAT P4P now, right?? I still cannot believe that you made a passionate case for Floyd Mayweather as the best P4P in history. Re-read Isaiah's post at 7:25. It makes your argument look foolish. I'm scratching my head, speechless. Just can't believe you thought that. Easily the most idiotic claim I've ever read here or anywhere. You had to have been joking.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 09:01:32 PM
Hakim:  I hope by 2013 that we have a time machine so you can go back and delete those comments. I'm just confounded, man. You and I rarely agree but I generally respected your opinions. But this one is like the doctor that accidentally amputates the wrong foot. It's inexplicable, and very disappointing. How do you explain it away. Would you do me a favor and it least blame it on your clone, and I'll hope to wake up and figure it was all just a bad dream.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 09:09:30 PM
Frank Z:  someone has gotta explain something to me. if floyd was signed to fight pac, and now he's about to be signed to face shane, how is he still scareweather?
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 09:29:47 PM
Chuck Norris:  @Frank Z. Elementary my dear Watson. All problems can be solved with Chuck Norris as the answer. You see Scareweather never fought ever one of these guys. As we all know from being chewed out by our significant others, AGREEING to do something and ACTUALLY doing it, is 2 different things. Scareweather last I checked has NOT signed the contract to face Shane Mosley yet. As for Manny Pacquiao, KENDUCKY FLOYD CHICKEN had to bring back Olympic style random blood testing and demand it no matter what even though no pro boxer has EVER been required to do this in all of PRO boxing including Scareweather in has past 40 fights. Therefore, I hope this answers your question on the one with many names. The way he loves money, I prefer to call him son of Lucifer, but that would be giving Lucifer a bad name.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 09:46:13 PM
Frank Z@ the texas ranger:  yeah but wasnt' bob arum the one calling the fight with pacquiao dead from day 1? when did floyd ever say during those times he didnt' want to fight pacquiao. arum's tryign to keep th emoney in house with a fight with cotto and now with clottey. and so what if floyd demanded olympic style testing that's never been done before. sugar ray leonard demanded a 12 round fight with hagler in an era of 15 rounders, people used to weigh in the morning of the fight. there used to be only one belt. boxing changes, usually for the worse, but i dont' see how this is really for the worse since a lot of cheaters don't get caught. pacquiao is not one of them, but why not set a precedent somehow to have better testing.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 09:52:39 PM
Isaiah:  @Smiley C. I'm glad you can speak for everyone else as you must be so wise that your voice counts for everyone else. Hakim and several others of us real men around here and in many places of the world don't have to kiss butt to voice an opinion. I'm willing to bet that IS HIS ACTUAL OPINION and he's just voicing excatly how he wants. You vaguely remeber that don't ya Smiley? You know, BEFORE you permantly glued your lips to Radam's butt.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 09:54:25 PM
Chuck Norris:  You have a point, but if we're all going to try to establish random blood testing as the norm, it must be for all fighters, not just to single out one. As far as the other stuff, the only thing I'm sure of is this, there is only one belt in my eyes. The Ring Magazine Belt is all the world needs. Peace.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 10:00:13 PM
Isaiah:  One more comment, just because I can and it goes a little something like this. " Say a lie enough times and people will start to believe it. "- Adolf Hitler. I think that's how the quote goes. Anyway, people can believe what they want to about me if it makes a hater's pathetic life have more meaning. I on the other hand, will keep on seeking the truth no matter how popular a lie is. After all Adolf Hitler was popular to, but that doesn't mean I'd follow the fool. Only fools just have blind allegiance. The sad thing is Smiley, you're full of hate on me and I would still show mercy on you as you on the other hand would probaly want evil on me. You need help for real.
Sunday Jan 31, 2010 10:14:07 PM
Hakim:  I don't know anything about that stuff Smiley C. And I'm not here to gain points with you or anyone else. I am speaking to one issue, and that issue is Radam G's contention that Floyd Mayweather is the best fighter P4P in history. He hasn't backed off that statement, so he must still believe it. Or if he does step away from it, he flipflopped. Oh but wait, he said he's not a flipflopper at 8:54. Now I have a stomach ache and a headache...darnit...Isaiah's post at 7:25 was all business, all Floyd facts and Robinson facts. It didn't contain any of that stuff you're mentioning. Do you agree with Radam that Floyd is the best P4P fighter ever? Have you had the chance to go back and read what he wrote? Someone posted it above and here it is again. It comes right up. Google: The Sweet Science Mayweather BWAA Fighter Of The Year 2007.....You should if you get the chance.

Anony - THIS FIGHT WILL BE CALLED OFF:  THIS IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUTH.... AGAIN, TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE... In two or three weeks this fight will be called off some way or another. I'm sure Floyd wants only Pacquiao and fighting Mosley represents too much danger and no money for him so he will get "injured" all of the sudden or "forced" to quit but it won't happen. Remember this is the guy who (going backwards) showed up three pounds from the limit to fight Marquez, "injured" his ribs when he saw tickets weren't selling and "retired" running off scared for more than a year when he noticed he needed to fight elite welterweights then.... SO I'M NOT BUYING HIS WILLINGNESS TO FIGHT MOSLEY ALL OF THE SUDDEN... He won't risk his beloved "0" on Mosley. THINK ABOUT THIS AND REMEMBER ME WHEN THE FIGHT IS CALLED OFF...check this out..... Who is the biggest draw in welterweight really???? Mosley or Cotto??? Who will bring more money??? Mosley or Cotto??? Who could be perceived as easier to beat?? Mosley or Cotto??? We have to remember Scareweather only fights for money and he will not risk anything with Mosley... YOU WILL SEE. GIVE IT SOME WEEKS AND IT WILL BE CALLED OFF.

Radam G:  Come on, Hakim man you are trying to play dumb and are instigating. The man said what he said in 2007. He also said that life changes all the time. Hell, 30 years ago, I thought the baddest fighter ever was Sugar Ray Leonard. A few years later, I though it was Michael Tyson. In the 1990s I thought it was Roy Jones. In the 2000s and now, I think that it is Manny Pacquiao. Man, people change their opinions base on the more that they see. I doubt that you ever saw Sugar Ray Robinson except on black and white films. I don't know how you judge a fighter and what you are looking for. But Radam G is right about both Floyd Mayweather and Sugar Ray Robinson. Robinson has a flaw of over punching and falling in and losing his balance. Floyd Mayweather has a flaw of leap hooking, turning his back and folding down with his eyes off the opponent. I look at a lot of Robinson's bouts with small middleweight and he lost a lot of bouts to short fighters. I can see anybody's point about Robinson or Mayweather. Neither are the pound for pound of all time to me. I will say that it is close between Willie Pep, Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis and the young Roy Jones Jr fo' sure!

Graham:  I can't believe the grief Mayweather is getting for asking for proper drugs testing, surely it is his right to know that an opponent hasn't taken something that would definitely improve his speed and power . I am a huge Pacman fan but cannot understand him not agreeing to it - there is no way the amount for blood they take for testing could effect your training. Then to come out and say the fight will almost definitely take place at a later date - when your body has grown and you no longer need the drugs........

El Maromero@ Anony:  it sounds to me like you are in deep denial, but its ok buddy. It happens to everyone at least once in their lifetime.I wonder that if I start to act like the fight doesn't exist then on May 1st when I hear the national anthem I will get more exited. Is that how it works?

Twik Brown:  S*it can we all just get the real Radam G. All this cloning and fake s*it need to cease and desist yesterday.

Frank Z calling out bob arum:  just a reminder to folks that bob arum only cares about his own wallet, when asked about matching up gamboa and juanma lopez right away: "I know what people want, and they can go f*** themselves." yep, this is the bob arum that nobody here seems to be blamingi for the pac mayweather debacle. this is the last i'll say on this.
Monday Feb 1, 2010 08:46:44 AM
1@ Frank Z:  I remember reading in a boxing magazine back in the late '70's, early 80's a quote attributed to Bob Arum. Something to the effect of "Boxing's been good to me, I'd like to give back to the sport". Has he?
Monday Feb 1, 2010 09:19:38 AM
Nuckle:  Everybody still go hate on Mayweather. He's still ducking Mosley huh? When he beats Mosley it's only because Mosley is old huh? lol.. I cant deny it though, I was saying if he didnt fight Mosley next or the winner of Berto and Mosley then I wouldve called him a coward. Guess what though, he's not. Oh yea and you do nothing but laugh at Pacman now for not taking the blood tests
Monday Feb 1, 2010 11:06:18 AM
Castro:  I told you so! This fight is signed, sealed & hopefully delivered. (key word; hopefully) lol My money is Mayweather. My heart is with Mosley - hoping he can pull off another historical upset. I can't pick who will win but I'm gonna go with my gut feeling & give it to Mayweather. I just wanna see 2 great fights! First one starts on 3/13/10!! Hell of a way to start the first six months of 2010....would ya'll agree?
Monday Feb 1, 2010 02:55:06 PM
Frank Z:  mosley is my favorite active boxer, so my heart also says mosley, but he's always had problems with boxers who were elusive and drew him into being the agressor. that being said though, i say having nazim in his corner puts him over mayweather. in his last fight he showed a strong stiff jab against margarito, and mayweather had problems dealing with the strong jab of de la hoya, who has shorter arms than mosley, slower hands, less stamina, and less overall versatility than mostey. i actually see mosley doing good work on mayweather. mayweather's tendency to back to the ropes and wear a guy out with his defense will work against him this time. he'll likely end up circling the ring a LOT, but if mosley can cut off the ring and plant him on the ropes with his superior size and strength, those punches may tell on floyd. i see it going similar to mayweather castillo I, shane by UD, only catching floyd with more clean flush shots than castillo did.

Real Talk lucky to be alive:  Whoo! Your boy almost made an early exit to the other side Sat. night in the snowstorm. Some bamma was sitting in the middle of the road on MLK. highway, tried to hit the brakes when I couldn't dodge him, and smashed the back of his car up. I bussed his window an everything. Life is precious and fragile. A gift that's meant to be enjoyed. I'm glad to be back in the universe and will be here more frequently because too many trades have gone against me an I need to rest up like a fighter that has taken too much punishment. I'll wait for a clear signal before I move on it. I'm going to catch up on these post. Peace n Blessings
Monday Feb 1, 2010 08:12:01 PM
Castro:  @Frank Z; Funny....I see it pretty much the exact same way. Great analogy & viewpoints! @Realtalk; Glad you are ok & good to go, amigo! We can replace cars any day of the week. You...we cannot! Peace n blessings to you as well. Get some rest.

Real Talk:  @ Castro, that's peace my dude. @ Radam, I don't know if that's you or your clone up there but somebody was spittin fuego! @ Twik Brown thanx 4 the compliments bayboy. Welcome to the Universe. WOW!!! Radam G and Isaiah locked horns huh! Both of you guys make good points. I've given my vote to SRR a while ago but I'd like to see what Radam G is talking about on this program. Nobody will ever do what Sugar Ray Robinson did unless society collapses back to those times. Different era, but that doesn't mean that a lot of the guys Radam named couldn't beat SRR. Styles make fights fam. Radam G's got balls, deep convicted belief or data. I still say SRR is the GOAT but I'm receptive to what he may bring to the table as evidence as I'm somewhat analytical and love to debate. It's only 1 TSS!!!!! (Ricky Hatton melody) Dueces

Is It Only Money That Matters?
"Who refuses to take a drug test worth $40 million?" For the American psyche, money is everything. It transcends what is right or what is wrong. For a certain amount of money, I'll do anything. Manny is Filipino, and he cannot fathom that kind of thinking. Is that what capitalism should be? I can't understand why $40 million should dictate your personality. Simply put, Pacquiao has his own dignity and refuses to be manipulated into taking $40M and giving his (butt) to anyone who wants it." ---TSS reader "Tony" informs readers of a possible cultural difference which causes certain peoples to interpret Pacquiao's refusal to cater to Mayweather's testing demands (photo by Chris Cozzone)
