BLOODIED, BUT UNBOWED: TSS Rises From Canvas, Ready To Rock
By Michael Woods
Greetings. I hope you missed us. We missed doing what we do.
For TSS regulars, you know, based on the onset of the shakes and your flu-like symptoms, that we were offline for a couple days.
But in honor of the upcoming holiday, we've curtailed this cold turkey time, and we're back.
The cause of the service interruption, and our "lost weekend," was that old standby, a server outage.
The tech wizards behind the scenes have been scrambling, and we're functional once again.
Please feel free to make up for lost time, and smother the comment section with your take on the Ward win, Pacquiao-Mayweather negotiations and other fistic matters. Check back here on a compulsive basis, because we'll be flurrying like Sugar Ray Leonard to make up ground.
Thanks for your patience,
EDITOR MIKE

I almost feel like I've been violated,.. slumming around and voicing my opinions on some of the brutally inarticulate slum sites where ignorance bigotry and myopic viewpoints reign supreme,.. Damn you TSS!!,.. now that I've got that out of my system,.. it's glad to see you're back up and running,.. I've seen Wards excellent win 5 times,.. that's how you win a championship,.. wake me when the Mayweather/Pac fight is done,.. and no "Catch-Weights"....

I looked as well.....but never dipped. The other sites were like some old hooker ready to serve as a last resort. But me, I like the art of seduction; talking my way to play. Paying is not my thing. So here I am, back with the site that brought me to the dance. And very happy she came back. After all, who else is going to listen to me/us hold forth but our own selves.

The young Ward dissects the obvious favorite. Wow. Should have known, but due to Ward's limited tests, how would or could I? I really liked what I saw from Kessler in previous fights, so he mustn't have been tested to the degree that he should have. To blame the ref for not breaking them and expecting a Euro-style encounter in Oakland was foolish on his part. Talk to your promoted Mikkel. We'll see what happens in Round 2 - plus a Jermain Taylor replacement could throw a wrench into the whole affair. Congrats to Andre Ward. It was a clinic from the young man - though "Son Of God" is a bit over the top, don't you think?

Also - good work Mike Woods in getting the site back up - I've been twitching and not sleeping, but I survived somehow. Congrats to Fe'Roz as 2009 ROY! Love your commentary.

I didn't know that anything was going happening. I pop up every now and then. But those regs must have been losing their minds. I think that Andre Ward will win it all. And since we are all the SOGs of God, he's whupping his brothers. I guess Cain is still in all of us. "Am I my brother's keeper?" Yea! Andre! When fighting to get paid fo' sure!

Michael,
The outage caused outrage in Brisbane, Australia and much bad language. I kept checking the website and kept getting nothing.
The outage forced me onto to other boxing websites which are no way as comprehensive and entertaining as TSS.
I am so pleased you guys are back.
Boxing isn't the same without The Sweet Science...

It's like the saying goes, you dont know what you've got till it's gone. Welcome back everyone.

#1 PacFan "Pacquiao #3 on ATG list"Standing firm!:
|
Ward is the real deal. Mayweather seems to be looking for a way out of a Pacquiao fight while Pacquiao is enjoying the break as usual with family and friends. The fight should take place in a Dome if ever materializes maybe the Cowboy's Stadium that seats almost 80k.

Radam G -- What THE FUDGE! -- I had a bad dream that TSS was Fudging w/us:

OMG! Lmao! Editor Mike got tried of those times when we'd turn into juveniles on a playground fightin' ova' dumb spit. "I can spit farther than you." "No, you can't!" "Yo' m_ma!" Etc., etc., etc. Editor Mike showed us! "Gaddamit! I'm shutting down TSS for a few days to get you addicts straighten out!" Hahahahaha! This is funny! Editor Mike caused us to tremble most than a dopey trying to break a drug addiction cold turkey. Now, in a few hours we can eat some warm turkey, instead of smoking it! Yall regs are some darn addicts. ME! I pledge da fifth! Now I can stop pulling my hair out and telling my peeps: "It will grow back! I'm just selling it. I read somewhere that it is nice to donate hair -- sharing is caring!" Whatever! Holla!

You guys. I didn't know what to do with myself. I was really hoping it was just my computer as I felt the reality of having this site slip away from me every hour. Almost every hour I would check this at work and on another computer too hoping that it was just the computer acting up or maybe my work took the site off on purpose for lack of productivity on my end. HA! Anyway, it's good to be back. Trust me Editor Mike. If you did make a point with this, (Just kidding.) POINT NOTED!

I could live without e-mail for a month and Facebook for two months, but no TSS? The world just wouldn't be much without it. Editor Mike, the server may well have been down, but I still felt like I was grounded and had lost my TSS priviledges. I promise to be a nice funny man again and behave with fellow feeling and abundant tolerance. No more grouchy posts or off-the-wall hyperbole. How about an article about the Pac/Floyd negotiations? What's the hang-up? Money? Weights? Ego? All three and more? I'm going to eat one dinner up in Bakersfield tomorrow and then another down in Malibu with some writer friends. A lot of driving and a lot of calories. My Bakersfield host is a senior fight fan and I'm going to gift him with some old school fights on DVD. With everything I've learned on TSS, I may actually be able to hold up my end of the boxing talk. TSS is high on the list of things I'm thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I didn't think the site had went under I thought something was wrong with my computer. I remember a few years ago when the site did go down but the editors told us beforehand it was going away for good. Even then I kept it bookmarked and would check it every week just to be sure. And then one day presto, it reappeared thank goodness, and even though I don't post as much as the rest of you I've watched it ever since. I sure missed it a lot both times. Glad your back.

Damn, you never know what you've got till it's gone. Well, it's good to be back anyway. TSS, the only top quality boxing site around. Congrats to Ward btw, I saw this coming when the fight was announced and what a great performance it was. I've changed my prediction on the overall winner of the tourney. Ward gonna win it all.

Suits, Stop Squabbling, And Posturing, AND MAKE FIGHTS!
"Floyd may very well be the most talented boxer but that he does not understand that what the fans, who ultimately pay the bills, watch fights for is entertainment. At the moment, he not only ignores that reality but frankly doesn't seem to care. Neither about our wishes and/or our passion for to see great fights. Thus, there is little Go ... and even less Show. I am vaguely interested in the Business of Boxing. Frankly, it is a mess on a good day and worse on it's worst. I prefer reading the Business pages where brilliant men and women develop skills and strategies to create incredible value and wealth (for themselves and others) in ways far more effectively and meaningfully than those who Rule ...some might say Ruin...this beautiful Sport." --FE'ROZ, speaking for a majority of fight fans
