Let's get this straight. Floyd is waiting for Manny to call him out. Shane called him out, and was dissed and dismissed. Hard to keep track of Floyd's "logic" sometimes.

Mosley Called Out Floyd, Pacquiao Better Be Nicer About It

By Frank Lotierzo

Floyd Mayweather's seven paragraph statement released late Monday night borders on being hysterical and a bad joke at the same time. It's amazing after being taken apart by RA The Rugged Man over the phone a couple weeks ago that he has the gall to say Manny Pacquiao hasn't called him out.

For starters Pacquiao is a likable guy who doesn't go out of his way calling anybody out. Remember, it was Oscar De La Hoya who requested to fight Manny Pacquiao, not the opposite. And the last guy who called out Mayweather to his face in the ring was Shane Mosley; how'd that work out for Shane? Not too good. It resulted in a promise that he would never fight the fighter who until Pacquiao's showing against Cotto this past weekend was thought to have the best chance to take him down and see to it that his "O" will go.

This is typical scripted Mayweather. He knows now more than ever before that his only role in a potential fight with Pacquiao is to don the black hat and incite boxing fans and play the bad guy. That's Floyd's best suit and it's obvious that Pacquiao's showing versus Cotto has infuriated him and made him envious.

As Mayweather watched Pacquiao-Cotto Saturday night he had one thought going through his mind and it wasn't "I could never beat Pacquiao." No, it was more on the line that as sure as he was that he'd beat Cotto, he knows he never could've taken him apart as decisively as Pacquiao did. Not once in ten fights even if he dragged Cotto down to 144. And that's obviously eating at him based on his ridiculous press release.

Inside Mayweather is frustrated that as great as he looked versus Juan Manuel Marquez in September, Pacquiao's showing versus Cotto makes his seem like a six week old ghost. It seems no matter what Mayweather says or does he's upstaged by Pacquiao's showing in the ring versus an opponent he had more trouble with, or just so happened not to get in the ring with.

Pacquiao-Mayweather will be promoted as the good-guy versus the bad-guy as it should. Mayweather will go out of his way to tear Pacquiao down, while Pacquiao will just sit back and let the demand for the fight rise as he becomes the bigger fan favorite with each passing day.

Mayweather saw some things Saturday night that he hadn't seen before from Pacquiao and they're a big concern for him. So instead of acting like he wasn't impressed he'll scream Pacquiao is just a media creation and knows inside he can't beat Floyd Mayweather.

The question is what does Mayweather say when Arum holds a press conference to which Pacquiao steps up to the podium and calmly calls him out? Maybe Pacquiao should confer with Shane Mosley and be sure to ask to fight but not come across so confident... or it won't happen.

After Pacquiao calls Mayweather out publicly...then what Floyd?

FP:  It's too bad that Shane did not wait for a couple more weeks after the Cotto fight. He might have had the chance to fight Pacman. If this Floyd negotiation goes sour, then it's a shoe-in for Shane to be next. That's what Arum implied when they closed the Cotto fight. Arum said he was basically next. That fight would also be a block buster I think. More than the Cotto. I for one would like Pac Man to continue taking on the opponents that Mayweather is trying to avoid. Theirs only on fighter that all welterweights should avoid is williams but if Manny takes him on, that would be a sight to see. Literally, DAvid vs Goliath. Good times for boxing. Woo Hoo!

Pork:  As always you've hit the nail squarely on the head Mr. Lotierzo. Mayweather deserves this public lashing he's getting but I think (hope) he's a fighter at heart and will answer the call. Shane Mosley is THE welterweight champ regardless and Pac will need to fight the champ at the weight limit of 147 or less, and beat said champ, to be champ himself. Cotto won his title by beating somebody named Michael Jennings.

El Alaxan:  Why the hell should Pacquiao be nicer to Floyd to get a fight? All roads lead to Manny Pacquiao now! Maybe Floyd should be nicer to Pacquiao.

Mathew:  Mayweather's point is that pac-man has never gone on air or on camera and said i want to fight you. Where as shane mosley disrespected Mayweather after and EXTREMELY impressive win over JMM. Don't let your foolish dislike of Floyd blind you from the fact that he deserves to have the time to do interviews just like ANY fighter after ANY win. Don't hate Floyd just because he says what no one else will. They dont want to fight him because they think they can beat him. They want the money. Just like Mayweather. No one gave money fights to Mayweather when he asked. he spent 7 years as a world champion before getting into big fights. I like Shane Mosley, but unlike him, you should have some respect.

joe:  Mayweather Jr. is just like his Dad. Oversells themselves like a used car salesman. Hitman got victimized (2x). Jr. has no class, flaunts his money for the havenots to salavate, talk too much and fights the little guys for sure money. I would say, "Winner takes all" if he is really serious of fighting the best P4P.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 09:33:31 PM
anna:  Pacquiao already called him out twice. Once before the cotto fight in the philippines he said mayweather was the one he wanted to fight and now after the cotto fight he said for the record he wanted to fight mayweather at KTLA.

silly baboon:  so tired of floyd and his antics, really wish he woulda stayed retired.he isnt good for the sport in any way he isnt even entertaining damnit!!! im sure hes kickin himself in the ass for comin out of retirement all his possible match ups are risky now . just face the music floyd n fight pacman or retire once and for all and go away.

ultimoshogun:  Hopefully this rumor turns out to be just a rumor, but FIGHTHYPE reports that they heard through a reliable source that Mayweather already has a date set to fight in the UK. Supposedly he anticipates negotiations to take a long time so he wants another tune up fight...the rumored possible opponents were Carlos Quintana, Matthew Hatton, and Dmitry Salita. If this turns out to be true Pacman should give Mosley the fight.

DaveB:  I think that Mayweather wants Pacquaio to call him out so he can say "See he's calling me out because he needs me. I told you all roads lead to Floyd". Pacquaio may call him out nicely, that is not what Floyd should be worried about. Pacquaio will not be so nice in the ring, that is what Floyd SHOULD be worried about.

Jay Ari Yin:  I hope Arum will only give the Mayweather camp up to end of December to negotiate the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout. If Floyd will not accept their conditions, then he should look at other boxers so not to delay much the return of Manny to the ring. I would love that Arum will then offer the fight to Mosley. Mosley has a fight in Jan. 30 so they will have to schedule the fight in May or June. That is, if Shane will be triumphant against Berto. It was actually Shane Mosley of the heavier weight fighters who first said on record that he would like to fight Pacquiao during the week of the Pacquiao-Barrera II match. Although, at that time, he said it in jest. It is time for Mosley to again be involved in a super fight and Pacquiao-Mosley will surely exciting, action-packed and even-matched. The other option for Manny is the winner of Bradley-Peterson bout at 140 lbs.. Marquez will now be small against the Pac-Man and Juan Manuel is currently negotiating a Hatton match.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:20:30 PM
Fe'Roz :  Floyd has his answer. When asked whether he want to fight Floyd, Manny has said and I quote: "For the record, Yeah". And meanwhile, Floyd is not so quietly contemplating fighting in the UK to stay busy; where he is appreciated. Our loss is Britain's gain.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:20:30 PM
tony:  Mayweather Jr.- “Roach wants Pacquiao to fight me so he can cash out” “You must realize Freddie Roach… each day his sickness is getting worse, so he gotta cash out as quick… as soon as possible and he knows the only road where Manny Pacquiao can make the most money is with Floyd Mayweather.” article from nowboxing dot com Freddie Roach using his fighter Manny Pacquiao as a sacrificial lamb against Mayweather for his own final big payday? What a cheap shot at Freddie Roach, using his disease. Mayweather Jr. better fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr because he is also undefeated like you. JR vs JR.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:22:07 PM
Porkupine:  Nice one Toney - if undefeated record mean everyhting May thinks they do why no commence talks immediately for Chavezito and Mayweatherito???!!!
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:26:35 PM
Mayweather FAMILY clowns:  Floyd was so scared to death when he couldn't believe what he saw: PAC TKOd dela Hoya in 9 rounds. He could only manage a questionable split decision against the same guy. PAC erased Hatton in 2 short rounds. The same fighter Floyd KOd but took him 8 rounds more to do so but the KO was not as beautiful as PAC's. Last Saturday, The fighter PBF was long avoiding for he knows he cannot and will not beat in Cotto, he saw in his eyes a fighter he feared to face was demolished by PACMAN in 11 rounds coupled with 2 KDs in rounds 3 and 4. Floyd is jealous like a gay beautician, he can only dream to match half of PAC's accomplishments against these 3 fighters. EXCUSES are plenty, crybabies cry but real men don't even utter a word, they just Knock out their opponents in the ring without a word outside the ring. Thats who MANNY PACQUIAO is!

MisterLee:  What's that term in Chess (which I'm learning now, my own little Sweet NERD Science!) CHECKMATE Floyd! :) as i said before.. it's like asking a man to choose (between Mosley or Pacquiao) .. would you rather get a running kick in the balls or french kiss a man for 30 seconds... umm.....!!!!
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:41:35 PM
Paul:  Actually Manny was gonna fight Mayweather instead of Cotto. But Mayweather want 60/40 on Pacquiao, thats not gonna happen. So intead of fighting Floyd, Manny pick Cotto....while Floyd trying to Fraud the public that he is the best by fighting a 135 ib figther in 147 ib fight....Which it did not prove anything. The only way this fight will happen is the 50/50 splis. 50/50 FLoyd wake up and stop dreaming in your fake greatness wonderland.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:45:30 PM
Abenir:  It is the upbringing of Pacquiao not to call on anybody out... he is a respectable fellow that he even pray for his opponent. He is a man who blooms from adversity, he has nothing to prove anymore. He is not the one who wants Mayweather... it is Mayweather who wants this fight. What Mayweather was doing is indeed scripted.. he wants Pacquiao to call him out in order for him to demand on the purse. He knows that Pacquiao will not agree on the 50%-50% purse... it is even to my opinion that Pacquiao should not agree even to a 60%-40% deals... for me, it should be 70% for Pacquiao to 30% for Mayweather. Mayweather is not the star in this match... time and time again, people would say that his style is "very boring"... Mayweather should come down to earth and accept that the attraction in this match is Pacquiao. Should Floyd will not agree on the 70% to 30% purse, then why not make it "winner takes all". While the sharing on the "pay per view" will be 50%-50% basis in order for the two boxer to have at least some money to pay for their individual team members and for their trainer. The "balls" were already in the hand of Mayweather... he should now decide... needless for Pacquiao to call his name out... no more "Ifs" and no more "Buts"... It is your call now Money Mayweather!

nestor alvarez:  To Floyd: Keep talking Floyd, coz Manny would just listen and keep his cards unopen! But did I hear it right???? Manny kept mum when ask a possible fight with you, and here it sounds you're begging for it as you called him right away!!! Anyway, its sounds MEGABUCK , and yes you have the case. I just can't disagree. To Bob, Roach and Team Pacquaio: Let Floyd bleed and beg for this fight. Let them understand, once in for all, what is all about being a "real superstar" he he he... PS. Anybody who can bring this short post straight to Mayweathers? Pls....
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 10:55:08 PM
Oddsmaker:  Fraud at this point has not too many choices , If he ducks Pacman or Mosley , he will be exposed in the US only the Brits are eating up his BS .. lol I predict he will take a fight at the UK because again easy money thats how boxing is to Fraud

taburnok:  to all pac-haters: i am a fellow asian of the pac-man. i say you are all "unfair" and boastful. just because we are of the 3rd world, or just because we are of the poor country and you don't seem to acknowledge the performance of the pac-man resulting to his victories. you always find an excuse for the losers or even throwing an accusation that the pac-man is using some kind of illegal drugs just to support your disbelief. on the positive side, this makes the pac-man more inspired and more agressive as you continue to discriminate him and touch his ego. To paulie malignaggi....just because cotto "whup" your ass, you got a guts to say manny is on "something". how shameful you are...

nestor :  For all intents and purposes, as boxing world clamor for it, I know myself this fight will have to happen sooner or later. And I believe there's no stopping it. As of late, Manny said" yeah" to Floyd's challenge. Ergo, this will make the nego much easier and we may expect it will happen at least by 3rd qtr of 2010. My early take on this fight runs as follows..... Fighting Marquez and Pacquiao is much two different thing, that's for sure. And if Floyd thinks he can do the same, offensively and defensively, beacuse Manny is one-dimensional fighter, he may be in for a BIG surprise at fight night. Pacquiao is a lot agile target with a footwork that maybe even better than Sugar Ray Leonard, realease a lot more combos coming from diff angles ( left or right), has a killer punch, and NEVER backdown unlike a common fighters. Much more to say, Pacquaio can take a punch of a true weltereight (or probably even middlewieht). His physique would tell it all. Going to style, Floyd can be beaten at his own game ---and that I have to be candid! Simply, baiting him to release a punch and Manny counterpunch with 3 to 4 combos and I guess one of them will find its target. Manny, as we have seen, can adjust to opponents fight stance and obviously, has a very, very sharp eye! At fight night, Floyd will have to bicycle himself and let's wish it will not be an UGLY fight not to be worthy of our penny. Naturally he's bigger and his long arm will definitely be his best asset ( 72 to Manny's 67") and he's got also a blinding speed of his own, has a very good body built and maybe the best technical fighter of this era. His undoing, however, is that he has not been tested the likes of Shane or even Cotto himself and his chin maybe a suspect target for Pacquaio. Imagine last Nov 14, Floyd the one standing in front of a ripped and a game Cotto and we had an idea how difficult it would have for the former. Like we said, Manny never underestimate opponents and for sure he knows ( and Roach) very well who he would be facing in Floyd. And it's pretty good, Floyd calls Manny "one dimensional" fighter who happens to be defeating a bigger and top caliber oppenents of this era.

Banjo:  he still has ONE more excuss left the 60/40 split arum made a plan that it be 40-40 split winner takes the 20% left. no more holes to hide noe floyd come meet your maker.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:01:39 PM
Beth:  Pac already said yes. KTLA interviewed him. They asked "For the record, do you want to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr?" and he said "For the record, yeah" . It's on their website.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:01:55 PM
Nap d great pretender:  What is next? Lil Floyd, Packman said He wants to fight you, and all the fans know that if you fight like a real man, like Cotto did against Packman, you can't go 12 round not even close to 6 rounds and Manny will wh'p ur.... I am your fan, and I admire you the way you fight, but now I had abig doubt on you that you are not that good not even close to Manny and Cotto, I think Cotto can KO you out before 12 round. Lil Floyd should face and KO Mosley, then He can challenge Manny... If lil Floyd fight other opponent other than Mosley or Pacquiao, then He is really not a fighter but a clown...
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:09:09 PM
adrein:  Hahaha! Very good observation Frank! Floyd Jr. and Sr. saw something in that fight, who would think that it would need to sacrifice Cotto inorder to expose Floyd Mayweather and it is the Mayweathers' best kept secret that they are well aware of. This secret will expose Floyd Jr. and it would be a race against time on who can take advantage of this secret. I know Roach has identified that already, Pacquiao maybe able to take advantage of it but it is Mosley who's in the best position to get it done.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:15:24 PM
nestor:  Frank, I'm fired up once again!!!Still on Cotto-Pacman fight update. Here's the judges scorecards: Adelaide Byrd: Rnd 3 - 10-9 Pacquaio. I thought it should be 10-8 because of a Knockdown!!!???? Rnd 5 - 10-10 Even. Is there such a thing as 10-10 scoring????? Dave Moretti & Dwayne Ford: Rnd 10 - 10-9 Cotto. How the hell Cotto still got this round when he was on retreat all the way and just trying to survive????? Ridiculous, if not anomalous, unless these are incorrect figures!?Can you help me expalin about these!?
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:19:35 PM
Dundee Duque:  Should Paquaio fight the "Mouthweather " , the Pacman deserves to have a bigger purse . Here is the main reason why....... Pacquiao is the pound for pound king , " the best" & one of the most exciting fighter thesedays ....while... The Money mouthweather is the pound for pound king in "TRASH TALKING" . The fights are all " BORING FIGHTS " . He is best for Marathon not boxing...... Either you agree or not ... watch all the tapes of the fight & compare .... He is undefeated via running only . He is not a true pound for pound ..... He is challenging the Pacman & insisting a big paycheck ?? Ha-ha-ha shame on you ... you're just doing that coz you dont want the fight to happen ... talk blah blah blah but deep inside you're afraid of Pacquiao .
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:26:02 PM
Ed:  If Floyd fights Pacman, he could win on points, he"ll "box" and not fight.. He doesn't know how to fight.. Look at his bouts and he wins on pts. or tko/ko because he's opponents are tired of running after him. Openings/mistakes happen then..Yeah right! counterpunch !! I want PACMAN'S STYLE, attacking, aggressive, creating openings..knocking out opponents..
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:28:01 PM
johntor:  Mayweather wants Pacquaio to call him out so he can say "See he's calling me out because he needs me. I told you all roads lead to Floyd". Pacquaio may call him out nicely, that is not what Floyd should be worried about. Pacquaio will not be so nice in the ring, that is what Floyd SHOULD be worried about. " THEN HE CAN FEEL PAIN IN THE HANDS OF MANNY PACQUAIO " . Surely Good Sleep
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:32:29 PM
BisDak:  Floyd is going to the UK to fight either Matthew Hatton, Quintana, or Salita. Check FightHype dot com for details.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:37:43 PM
isidro:  Mayweather Jr. is a damage fighter,he knows it but don't want to show much more to admit it.How can an ordinary person knows that he is perpetually selling his wares without expiration date at all.His fight with Marquez is more of a dance choreography than a fight.Knowing very well that a fat old man when brought into a spin move will have higher possibility of geting dizzy and can fall.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:40:27 PM
sparklight:  Mayweather is used to fight smaller fighters. I wonder why will not call Manny to fight with him. He maybe afraid that Manny would take that call and he would suffer a tremendous loss in his whole boxing career. Manny is not used to call out his bosing opponent but he will fight anybody his promoter and his coach to bring infront of him. Floyd is afraid to fight against Manny! that is is for sure.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:41:33 PM
nicolas:  hahaha floyd jr are you afraid of fighting pacman? u guys out there no need to call the money weather since he is nothing but a coward idiot.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:42:18 PM
mianz:  for sure lil floyd will do lots of running if their fight will push though. lil floyd was just making excuses. i think lil floyd is more willing to fight with cotto coz he knows he can easily dispose cotto. now he is very vocal that he wants to fight manny just to show that he is not afraid of him but when that time comes for sure he will find lots of excuses for the fight not to push through like he has a scheduled fight, he will not agree with the purse because he will dream of getting the bigger part which should not be the case, or he will have an injury during practice and much worst is that he will demand the higher weight because he knows that manny is a great fighter and he can beat bigger great fighters. the excuse of gayweather last time that he had an injury is just an excuse just to delay the fight because ticket was not yet sold out. we know that marquez can't beat him being a smaller guy. the weight issue of the fight for pacman vs cotto at catch weight is not the problem. cotto can challenge pacquiao at 140 coz pacquiao has a belt in the weight and pacman can also challenge cotto at 147 if he wish to. but pacman's camp is wise to fight at catch weight coz climbing 7lbs is too much. cotto can decline the offer if he wish to but the eagerness and honor to fight the pound for pound king is the issue here. shane mosely even challenged pacman at 140lbs. it's just so happen that the prediction of the analyst that cotto is too big for pacquiao that he can easily tear down the pacman was wrong just like Dela Hoya's case. the outcome of the fight came out to be the smaller fighter beats the bigger one. just like the case of gayweather and marquez fight. look at what happened to the fight marquez was not comfortable with the weight when he drastically climbed up to fight gayweather. and gayweather is too wise being the bigger guy and the amount of penalty for the overweight is too minimal that is why he agrees to pay for the penalty rather than sacrificing his condition. how much more if they fight with the weight of marquez at 135lbs i dont think gayweather can beat marquez. the weight issue here is not the problem coz cotto is a regular welterweight its just so happened that pacquiao is too fast and strong for him that pacquiao can easily take cotto's punches. pacquiao can dispose cotto at round 2 and 3 but due to his respect of cotto he let cotto fight him back he even let cotto hit him but pacquiao can take his punches and for the audience to be entertained. what pacquiao did was dangerous the risk he take when he let cotto hit him but for the sake of entertainment he let it happen. for me the fight of gayweather against pacquiao if in case will happen will be in the 3rd quarter of 2010 coz gayweather will have lots of excuses just to delay the fight. the big issue here is that he would want the bigger purse when in fact pacquiao deserves to have just like Dela Hoya during their prime. gayweather is nothing compares with pacquiao he is far behind with the pacman. the reason why boxers fight is to win the title belt and honor. the achievement of pacquiao right now to win 7 titles in different division is one hell of an chievement. boxing's great will not be measured of having a perfect record and lesser titles won. for me pacquiao really deserve the bigger purse which will the big issue for the coming fight.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:42:44 PM
JOEFLOYD BREAKPICK:  There's news that Floyd is scouting for other boxers to fight, and Manny is not on that list. Manny's fight with Cotto brought a rat in Mayweathers' hearts. They know there would be no way the son can last the distance against Pacquiao in the ring. Manny would bust his pretty boy face and crack his rolling shoulder into a pulp.
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:50:21 PM
Datu Marikudo:  Floyd Mayweather says "I'm in a no-win situation. If I beat Manny Pacquiao do you know what they are going to say? 'You are supposed to beat him, you are Floyd Mayweather". "The world's going to go 'wow' if Floyd Mayweather gets beaten. That's what everyone is looking to see." ---------- So Floyd, you're calling it quits?
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009 11:57:02 PM
july:  the difference between manny and floyd is that manny fights bigger, stronger opponents while floyd handpicks lighter, smaller opponents like marquez. pathetic floyd. im sure he could not do to cotto what pacquiao did. what an envious a.....e!!!
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:07:40 AM
Jmdlcruz:  Pacquiao is not calling Mayweather out. At this point the Pacman can choose any opponent in the ring he wants to fight. He could fight Mosley, Marquez or any other worthy of his attention. Pacman in the past has been accused of cherry picking his opponents, so now this time he is cherry picking Mayweather to be the lucky one. Floyd congratulations, for Pacman has choosen you.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:11:57 AM
lakay:  floyd needs pacman not pacman need floyd. pacman must fight on march as arum say before election on may in the philippines. floyd must accept pacman terms or pacman takes one jr. middleweight fight for 8th title which is more worthy than fighting floyd. to settle the money share can be 40/40 with the winner take 20 this is reasonable if floyd has balls. if he can't accept he's scared if he want bigger he must sweat it out. remember it is now floyd chasing a fight with pacman and pacman is just relaxing.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:16:18 AM
Dustine:  Maybe Floyd has hesitation into his mind if he were going to fight Pacquiao or if that day come he will realized that his loud bad mouth will be shutdown for good! His career will be demolish and for sure all of his bad comments to Manny Pacquiao will return to him twice!!! That's a KARMA for not being humble as Pacquiao!!! If he really wants to fight Pacquiao and have the courage and heart not the big black mouth and the blahblahblah language he use then settle for the fight! Be a real boxer! The thing why people want to see the pacquiao vs mayweather fight is because they want Mayweather Jr. to teach a lesson for being boastful!!! And Pacquiao is the right guy for him! Unfortunately Floyd wants to fight boxer who are cherry picked and easy to beat!!!

ultimoshogun:  Where's the Roast at? We got a couple lady's up in here.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:32:26 AM
bolo punch:  team pacquiao wanted to fight mayweather before the cotto fight came about. in true floyd chicken fashion, he fought a bloated lightweight in the person of marquez. news is manny has called out floyd jr. to a fight. it will not come as a surprise then if floyd jr. haggles his way out of a fight with pacquiao by making unreasonable demands and instead fight others in another boring fight. the ppv numbers in the pacquiao cotto fight has given manny all the leverage to bargain for the higher purse.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:36:21 AM
ryan:  Why does Pacquiao have to call out Floyd? It's clear that he's said so before. He even said Floyd doesn't want to fight him. If Floyd does want to fight, he should be a man and stop making excuses. Manny is the man now. He calls the shots. He doesn't need to call anyone out. And when someone asks Floyd about possible opponents, he goes and says something else. He never answers who he wants to fight. Even against Mosley, he never gave an answer and made that whole question into drama. That's Floyd. Manny will fight anyone. Put anyone into the ring, he will fight them because it's his job, he feels it's his responsibility to the boxing fans and the pride of filipinos. Manny is a true fighter.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:41:58 AM
alcris q. villas:  pacman has called out floyd already.this is the fight PBF has to take and he sure has no choice. they could probably split the purse 40-40 with the winner taking the remaining 20%. if this fight takes place, pbf will win on points cause he will just box and not fight toe to toe. This is going to be the most boring fight of all time. pbf is a smart and thinking fighter and manny is a warrior and definitely a Legend!

carrier123:  Title of this article is stupid, manny does not need floyd because he makes more money than floyd just on endorsemnts alone. Floyd can keep on boxing but still not going to match manny's nike endorsement and other deals.

jin:  beat the guy method: cotto beats mosley = cotto 1 mosley - 1 mosley beats margarito = mosley 1 margarito - 1 margarito beats cotto* = margarito 0 cotto 0 pacquiao beats cotto = pacquiao 1 cotto -1 total score: margarito = -1 (even if no *, he will still be 0) cotto = 0 mosley = 0 pacquiao = 1 (he is the one on top) *w/ loaded gloves

Paul caballero:  I don't see an exciting fight betwwen Manny and Floyd, it can be a boring fight, but... I want to see this fight for one good reason, just to see Manny whooped Lil Floyd ..!S., and shut his mouth for good., no way that Floyd can be better than Cotto, and we all seen what Manny did to Cotto, and how merciful He was, but with the case of Floyd, He maybe need a hard beating like a little boy that talking too much. The moment of truth arrived to show to the world that Lil Floyd is a real man, and Fight Manny, and I think Manny love to fight him with out a gloves at all. Come on Manny show Lil Floyd how we started boxing in our country, that we boxed with bear hands, no weight, no referee, just you need to say, yes i can fight him, even he is twice taller and bigger than you.

dobuef:  mosley has the better chance against pacquiao than mayweather. i want to see pacquiao/mosley in 2010.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 01:23:25 AM
bacheck:  It should be floyd vs pacman..not mosley vs pacman.Mosley lost to cotto and cotto demolished by the pacman.Every fight fans wanted to see how the pacman destroy the big mouth floyd!

#1floydhater:  if mosley was a mexican with a big fan base, would mayweather call him out? what about cotto? cotto also has a big fan base in Puerto Rico but mayweather did not call him out. why? because mayweather is afraid to fight to guys bigger and stronger than him! he's a coward!
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 02:53:00 AM
boyarate:  mayweather keeps saying he isnt ducking anyone. i wish someone would interview him and ask him why he keeps ducking people and then, for the rest of the interview, for whatever mayweather will say, the interviewer will just say "shane mosley" over and over and over again right to his face.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 03:06:56 AM
onewaray:  Mayweather will not fight Pacquiao irregardless. He'll wait for Pacquiao to lose to either Mosley, Marquez or whoever it is he fights next. Then he'll say Pacquiao is not good enough for me coz he lost already. Typical Mayweather excuse!
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 03:13:31 AM
boy:  the brits really appreciate skill, thats why they love mayweather. in terms of skill and technique, mayweather is topnotch. but there are other factors in fights that come to play. for example, mental and physical toughness, punch volume, punch variety, speed, footwork, ring generalship, defense and power.. a lot of those, mayweather hasnt really showed us yet. but in terms of skill alone, mayweather handsdown. nweiz, pacquiao doesnt need mayweather, mayweather needs pacquiao. so its clear who should beg for the fight to happen. shut your mouth floyd and start begging.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 03:15:22 AM
KOed:  Consistent attacks of ignorance on Pacquiao's life as a street urchin in the mean alleys of General Santos city is what's eating up Mayweather. Remember what Pacman said to one of his Mexican victims when the latter shouted out his name belittling Pacman's capability to win? Pacman answered: "I wanna fight him with or WITHOUT GLOVES! Pinoy urchins with empty stomach are natural street fighters and like to fight one-one-one and toe-to-toe because for them it is entertainment and the only way to protect what is left to protect--our name on the mean street. Early on, Pacman's life had been a struggle to survive poverty and being a nobody, Anybody trying to put him down serves as his penultimate motivation to put that man down on the ring. And Mayweather has been providing Pacman his best motivation to tear him up.

Rommel:  Mathew, are you nuts like PB F?! Before you try explaining why Floyd said Manny has never publicly challenged him, pls take note that Manny has indicated that he wants to fight MAyweather many times already. And he did so again a couple of days back. Now, lets put into context that the Pacman has always been a very religious humle person, which are natural traits in his country. Given that personality, its not in his character to be calling out people and challenging them using his mounth! He usually lets the fury of his fist speak for themselves. Exactly like what happened to his showdown with Cotto, Hatton, Dela Hoya and Diaz. He didnt have to trumpet his accomplishhments and obnoxiously brag about them. He just dismantled all of them and he lets Bob Arum and Fredie Roach, do the talking for him. He is definitely not an insecure fighter and he is very much at peace with everything around him. Something you can never expect from Mayweather. And yes, he wants to fight Mayweather, even if its PBF, who needs him more. He does need to prove anything to anybody

junlim:  frank, may i request that through your pen, you lobby to match a fight for pacman opposite genuine boxers and true welterweight champions in the likes of mosley or berto or any other fighters worthy of the honor, prestige and respect (and riches, of course) that the boxing world brings. while i must admit that a pac-floyd clash will make a little huge payday, -- i say a little huge because i believe that after pac-cotto fight, a pacman fight with either berto or mosley is going to collect a huge revenue as well-- i truly believe that floyd does not deserve the honor to fight with the widely accepted greatest fighter at the moment. Much more, floyd does not deserve to get rich by virtue of that fight. Peruse the following reasons why pac-floyd should not happen, or at least, should not come so soon: 1. floyd does not hold a welter belt. 2. he has not yet proven that he is a true and formidable welter as he failed or refused or ducked to face the true welters in cotto, mosley, berto and margarito 3. most importantly, he's got a person (I say person, not skill) not worthy to be proud of by the boxing world. in fact, he constantly insults the boxing institution of which he only a part and from which he owes for his bread and butter. look, why dignify a fighter-- by clamoring for a shot a pacman--who is constantly doing flagrant mockery of the boxing world. I tel, the very clamor to put him a clash opposite pacman largely due to his antics is effectively operating, and the clash itself, if it happens, will operate, in the mayweathers fooling and playing the institution, and in the process insulting and demeaning the true welter champions in berto, mosley et al. to the Boxing World, pls. don't allow that floyd be rewarded for his disrespect and ungratefulness to You. floyd is not ur prodigal son. reward him though in due time. dont ignore and abandon the true champions. don't fault them for their lack of skills to create odes and poetries as would sell them to the fans. in fact, i believe mosley and berto and the other champions (cotto included) are capable of doing what floyd does, but they choose not to because they simply are, as the pacman puts it, "ordinary (champions at that) who fight to win." most importanly, they simply are gentlemen and honorable. i commented on ben thomson's "shane mosley: pacquiao is a real welterweight... i'll fight him in april. it says, good for u, shane, that u choose to stay gentleman and honorable. i tel u, u once tried to sell urself in a floyd-like manner but it did not click. u know why? read first sentence, that's who u are supposed to be
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 05:46:32 AM
The ghost of Ray:  Frank never surprises me with his articles, another Floyd bash?!? Wow!! What a stretch, what a tough write. I've never read a good word written about Floyd by this man. I don't know if they met and Floud degraded him or check hooked him or what but he really has it in for PBF. It's ok tho. Thus far it has always turned out the same, a lot of Floyd hate, Floyd being arrogant at interviews, barking at fighters during press conferences and then biting their asses for the win. And so history repeats itself. Atleast you stay true to who you are and always have been Frank, a biased PBF hater, it's good to know where a man stands at all times.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 06:39:56 AM
labonilcny:  ...floyd is so scared of Manny even his father, who watched Pac/Cotto fight at ringside and seated beside mosley could not believe the beating he gave cotto and insinuated to the press that, he is into something (afraid to say the word steroids in fear of a lawsuit cause he cannot prove it). The Nevada state boxing commission the last time stated pacquiao was clear... prior and after a fight, fighters are checked... how the hell can he accuse pacquiao of such things?... the only reason I could think of is that the mayweathers are envious of pacman's achievement and can see that Manny can beat floyd jr....now to avoid manny, he says he cannot deal with Bob Arum, and then again he wants a 65 to 35 purse.... well, he can say all he want, but in the end he is EXPOSED... HE IS SCARED TO FIGHT MANNY... He must take the fight and go into sensible terms regarding the purse issue or be damned in the boxing books history as true FRAUD!!
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 06:42:19 AM
viper:  Mathew, why u ask respect to Mayweather when he himself trash talks and arrogant? No other boxers in this world has the character of manny pacquiao. a humble guy, never disrespect his opponents or critics & sometimes shows compassion at the ring (remember david diaz? he tried to help diaz in the canvas) and not to mentioned his philantropic deeds. if u want respect then it is manny who deserved it.

SALT lover@The ghost of Ray:  Dude, the hatred against Floyd in this page is humongous. People here attack Floyd, and mention him more than anybody else in boxing. And Lotierzo is not the only one. You're right about this "writer", BIASED against Floyd Mayweather Jr (40-0), and because he's doing that, his articles are "great"; this dude reminds me a little to Manuel Perez, another boxing website's writer that trashes Pacquiao in a level that quite frankly it's pathetic. But since it's against Floyd Mayweather Jr, it's OK to attack him. And you're 100% about why people hate Floyd for all those things he does in interviews, press conference, 24/7 series show offs and stuff. They can't say it's because he doesn't take on this or the other fighter, cuz Pacquiao fought two guys after Floyd, and people celebrated them more than Floyd's. It's OBVIOUS people just wanna see him lose. People might say "Oh, Salt you and your boy are so jealous of Pacquiao blah, blah..." but it's the Truth. If Floyd fights Salita now, I can't imagine all the insults against him. But if Pacquiao fights Salita now, people are gonna be riding his stuff saying how great he looked; just like De la Hoya. It can't be helped, until Floyd loses a fight and/or takes a beating in the ring then you're gonna see people changing opinions about him.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 07:10:20 AM
Gil P. Acosta:  If Mayweather will fight Pacquiao which I really doubt, after their fight Mayweather will have another nickname: Pretty Boy Blue. He will be beaten black and blue by the Pacman.

row:  FLOYD JR USED YOUR FIST IN BOXING NOT YOU MOUTH.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 07:13:39 AM
Albert:  What many misled idiots fail to recognise is that Mayweather beat a slow Marquez. Marquez was weight-compromised. To top it all, Mayweather did not even try to meet the agreed fighting weight. Mayweather is a cheat and a certified coward. You can fool many, Mayweather, but not people like me.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 07:30:32 AM
GOAT:  The hate in this article and by everyone else is amazing. People are talking about PBF's family, career, manhood, and anyhting but boxing. When he fights Pac and wins what will everyone say? One writer on here said that PBF can box but not fight? Wow, that's crazy because he is a pro boxer and he has been fighting almost all of his adolescence and adult life now some guy who probably never even walked past a boxing gym before says PBF can't fight. This is getting crazy! PBF and Pac will fight sometime in the spring and we will see who is the best. Point Blank.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 07:42:02 AM
Cox's Corner:  Carlos Quintana, Matthew Hatton, and Dmitry Salita?? I'll be sure to shell out my 50 dollars to see Floyd duck Manny and watch those mismatches /boggle.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 07:52:33 AM
Matthew:  It's hard to know exactly what is going on inside Floyd's head, since we're not psychiatrists, but I have to think that Mayweather is feeling a little upstaged at this point. It's not in Pacquiao's nature to call someone out (as Frank pointed out), so don't expect it to happen. Manny has said he wants to fight Mayweather, and that's about as far as he will go. Frankly, he doesn't need to call out PBF; public demand for the fight is already swelling.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 08:55:25 AM
The Answer:  All Floyd is worrying is himself. His unbeaten record, money and fame. If he really love the fans and he should give then the entertaining fights. Come on, people must wake up how he is fooling everyone for honoring him. His smart i acknowledge that but im brave enough to say he is selfish and arrogant.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 09:29:16 AM
Rastaman:  PACQUIAO does not need to call out Floyd. Floyd is not a Champion Manny is. Floyd is not the puond-for-pound #1 best boxer in the world, Manny is. Manny is the CHAMPION Floyd is the challenger. SO why should the champion calls out the challenger? Floyd needs to learn LOGIC. Shane Mosley called Floyd out, but he never gave Sugar Shane Mosley a fight. Paul Williams and Margacheato called him out, but he never give them a fight. SO what's up Floyd? Manny says, For the record, I want to fight Floyd Mayweather. So what is your response to that?
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 09:32:42 AM
joey:  I don't want to be in mayweather's shoes now, he must be scared to death, the thought of Manny knocking him out is gnawing at him, killing him slowly. He is running out of excuses he is starting to make a fool of himself. Does he honestly believe that people still listen to what he's saying? Stop talking and fight Manny. Win or lose history will remember you as somebody who fought one of the planet's greatest fighter, not a coward runner who talks a lot.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 09:42:07 AM
SMOKEY:  WHOEVER WROTE THIS ARTICLE COULDNT HAVE BEEN MORE CORRECT. MAYWEATHER JR IS ENVIOUS AND NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES HE CANT UPSTAGE THE PACMAN...LOL AND FLOYD JR'S LAST BOUT WITH JMM, SO FREAKIN BORING.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 09:55:12 AM
Jou Moer:  I wonder what Daddy Mayweather saw in the Pacquiao-Cotto fight that makes him say he does not want his little boy fighting Pacquiao.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 10:00:32 AM
Robert Curtis:  Floyd has a pride in his own monetary success that often eclipses his fistic success. He does amazing defensive things in the ring. He can roll, slip and move away from just about any harm that comes his way. He uses his gloves, shoulders, everything. His feet are always in the right place. He controls distance, creates angles to his advantage both offensively and defensively. The guy is super ring-smart. I'm thinking Manny might be faster than some of his tricks though. In any event, it would be a great fight for fans. Mouthweather, Scareweather, whatever folks want to call him, he makes it easy for folks to hate him with his disdainful and provocative attitude. He enjoys wearing the black hat almost as much as he enjoys counting his money.

#1 PacFan "Pacquiao #3 on ATG list":  Wow! Wow! Wow! Spot on! Or should I say nailed it on the button. I really didn't think it would come to this where Floyd is desperately seeking a fight with Manny. Gotta give this one to Fe'Roz who saw this one coming way before us. Hey Frank, you starting to sound like us PacFans who mannerly criticize Floyd. I just hope Floyd keeps trash talking Manny into this fight cause I know one thing for certain is that Manny is more focused when insulted. Look what happen to Morales and Hatton. Bring it on Floyd!
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 10:15:45 AM
#1 PacFan "Pacquiao #3 on ATG list":  Super Zab Judah is also predicting a split decision win for Manny if Floyd fights him. I'm with you on that Zab!

cadoski:  Floyd is not going to fight pacquiao he is going to retire and go into the eatery business in competition with KFC under the business name " FLOYD CHICKEN"
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 11:00:18 AM
No-Need:  Pacquiao does not NEED Mayweather... Pacquiao can fight any number of JR's- or full welters and prove his mettle against fighters who need that step-up chance. Fights against Mosley, Berrto, Williams, Marquez, Kahn, and Veliro would be more exciting than a Mayweather fight. Pacquiao would/will beat Mayweather. I understand that the "People" want this fight, but I wouldn't be disappointed if it NEVER happened. Why shine light on a professional boxer who has ZERO respect for his fellow human beings?? Floyd does not deserve a fight against Pacquiao. Floyd is a great fighter, but lacks the intangibles that would have made him an all time great. Intangibles like challenging him-self against the best that other fighters offer... He has already sealed his own fate by not fighting the best over the past 10 years... Pacquiao has, and continues to do so. Thats why I feel Manny does not need Floyd. Manny will continue to make MILLIONS fighting worthy adversaries, and continue conquering all comers... Floyd can continue fighting everyone else that is NOT a threat of challenging his skills.. FLOYD MAYWEATER's UNDEFINED RECORD HAS NO BEARING ON HIS GREATNESS... I wouldn't loose a minute of sleep if this fight doesent happen... Manny Pacquiao is a living legend, and Floyd would be the golden feather in his cap, but it is not essential to Manny's standing because his accomplishments already highly regarded. Well-see...
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 11:15:34 AM
GOAT:  #1 Pac fan are you really quoting Zab judah as a reason to believe Pac will beat PBF? Come on man! Zab? The best and most skillful fighter will win and who is that? PBF!
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 11:20:38 AM
Jason:  First thing, let's not forget the reason why Floyd, in his own words, retreated from retirement to fight Marquez. The reason? Because JMM called him out. I suppose the lesson is that as long as you're not too big/dangerous, then Floyd will fight you in the event you call him out. It's pretty clear that Manny Pacquiao is not the kind of guy to call people out. And he's already beaten Miguel Cotto, a guy that surpasses any man on Floyd's resume.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 11:47:19 AM
#1 PacFan "Pacquiao #3 on ATG list":  @GOAT, I'm no psychic but every on here should know where I stand when it comes to predicting a fight. I used Judah's quote as only to back up my prediction. @Jason, I totally agree with you on that. Mosley called him out but shut him out, JMM calls him out he comes out of retirement so fast like if he was right behind him listening in. It shows you that if you call him out you either have to be smaller like Marquez was and Pacquiao who is much smaller to fight him. Floyd doesn't really know that Manny is much bigger than he looks.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:07:40 PM
VenezuelaRocks:  Since Floyd wants to fight smaller guys, why not fight Edwin Valero instead. This guy also has a clean record (zero loss) and surely a knockout artist. He is under Top Rank promotions and I am pretty sure Valero will agree to fight whatever weight you want him to fight. He is also a southpaw and has similar style like Manny Pac... Always moving forward and he likes to brawl. There were issues that Valero gave dela Hoya a beating during the sparring for dela Hoya - Pacquiao fight. Floyd, why not try this guy?!

dp69 @jason:  lmfao....you are right...if you are small and not a threat to beat scareweather, so then yes....scareweather will fight them....if you are too big, he will retire or go on a 1 year vacation....lol...bottom line is this...SCAREWEATHER IS JELEAOUS OF MANNY...simple as that....he had his chance to fight the best out there when they were on their prime....cotto, mosley, williams, margacheato....even if he would of split between these 4 fighters, i would of respect his @$$.....but nooooooooooooo.....he chooses to fight washed up bums little guys and has beens.....GREAT CHOICES SCAREWEATHER.....lol....just sit back and relax....just wait for calderon to call your @$$ out.....lol.....holla back!!!

ali @ #1 Pacfan:  See you starting that $hit already Pac is a big boy now don't bring up size. That's not why Mayweather wants to fight Pac it's because that fight make the most Money and if Pac is number 3 all-time as you say a win over him goes a long way as far as his legacy.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:22:25 PM
Real Talk:  I'm taking Pacquiao ! I know Floyd will give him a better fight. Much better...but I think Pacquiao will outwork him and score while Floyd's on defense. Plus I don't see Pacquiao getting tired. I'm feeling prviledge to see a true all time great....WARRIOR !!! Give the people what they want ! Dueces

Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:31:13 PM
ali @ real talk :  You didn't say Pac did you Wow!.... I respect your opinion and I see how Pac work rate could be a problem and how Pac doesn't get tired but I think Mayweather knows this is a different aminal and that he is going to have to throw more punches to win this fight.

ali -Pac vs Mayweather no catchweight:  Pac has officially said he wants to fight Mayweather so there you have if Floyed now lets sit down with his people and make it happen.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 12:58:52 PM
ultimoshogun:  I watched the Pacman/Cotto and Marquez/Mayweather fights again last night and at this point when I size up Pacman and Mayweather I'm thinking Mayweather will beat him, but I'll save it for when the fight is a sure thing.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 01:23:53 PM
Matthew:  Floyd didn't fight Marquez simply because Marquez called him out. If it were that simple, he would have fought lots of guys he could have fought but didn't. He took the Marquez fight because he's a marquee name, and because Marquez posed little risk of beating him. He knew Marquez was easy pickings. Floyd may have be insecure, but he's not a stupid man.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 01:29:28 PM
Yuvie:  I remember Pac saying that he wants to fight Mayweather. Who cares? Mayweather's a joke.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 02:23:53 PM
#1 PacFan "Pacquiao #3 on ATG list":  Wow! I mannerly criticize Floyd for picking on smaller men and I'm seen as a crap talker. You sound like a big boy with a little boys brain. You guys keep saying that he was always considered the smaller man when it was past his prime Genaro and Oscar who only had the size advantage. Let's not take this critizing to the heart Floyd fans and keep your fingers on the keyboard.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 03:21:32 PM
ali @ #1 Pacfan:  Im just saying don't have built in excuses it takes away from the fight. Im not going to say Mayweather has had only one fight in two years cause it would sound like a built in excuse. Its such a huge match up that I don't want to here none of that bull$HIT about size and weight for any of you PAc nuthuggers.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 03:49:42 PM
hm:  Shane is still waiting for an answer. he'll get 1 if he shows signs of slipping against Berto, but it'll be next year if he looks like he's washed up. then Floyd would be glad to oblige.
Thursday Nov 19, 2009 05:45:05 PM
DaveB:  hm, You put it in a nutshell. Mayweather waits and watches. If he sees some slippage either he fights you and wants accolades for winning, or he'll wait for you to fight someone else, and of course one fighter has to lose, then he'll talk crap about how you were never good enough to have fought him anyway. If you are good he'll say you could have fought him 10 years ago. Why not fight now and forget about the past? What he is not getting is the fact that he isn't the one who beat any of these real threats. If he did we all wouldn't be having this discussion. No one hates him personally, we just hate his wayof picking opponents and talking so much crap. His fans keep talking about what he is going to do and it is getting tired. We are still waiting.

insideinformation:  A lot of the major press in the Philippines has turned their focus to the tension between Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee. Pacquiao, allegedly, had an affair with actress Krista Ranillo. Pacquiao and Ranillo co-stared in the fighter's latest film, Whapakman. Reporters in the Philippines are all over the story. Footage surfaced of Jinkee crying at a Thanksgiving mass that was held to honor Pacquiao's win over Cotto. Photos and video of Pacquiao in the company of Ranillo is spreading across the net. Jinkee no-showed the fighter's post-fight celebration and the couple took separate flights back to Philippines. Jinkee's parents are furious with Pacquiao over the scandal and told abs-cbnNEWS "because you hurt our daughter, we will boycott your film." Jinkee's father, Nestor Jamora, spoke to the press and said "so many people are mad at [Manny]. And here comes that issue with Jinkee. Everyone here, her family, is mad at him. Her father believes the scandal will hurt Pacquiao's political campaign as Congressman in Saranggani, the hometown of Jinkee. Pacquiao's supporters are pleading with the fighter to stand up to the scandal and face it head-on but so far the fighter has issued "no comment" replies when approached with questions on the alleged affair.

bill major:  excellent frank.mayweather has really turned into a screeching hag. back in the late 90's he was a nice kid .thats what happens when you know in your heart you took the easiest road to your undefeated record.now he's crapping himself because he has to fight manny or he'll ever be able to look himself in the mirror again or blow his horn like he always does, trying to convince us he's the greatest . he has to fight! im so looking forward to watching pac dismantle him .how can he not fight him ?

MisterLee:  Floyd is as popular as Mason "The Line" Dixon. He's Mason personified! If pacquiao and mosley tango, you can forget scareweather! B/c pacquiao win or lose is gonna move on to tango with marquez at jr. welter, mosley will either come out of there with 3 belts, or his pride and a few more fights in the tank (if he loses, maybe scareweather will get him on the "down slope" like he always does and retire after that!). Floyd has dug a hole, and is getting closer to the edge! The public has spoken! Besides Oscar as a promoter, as a fighter he's always been fairly honest and open and welcoming to public adoration. Floyd has just taken a dump on that formula and decided to make his own rules, but he DOES forget that... TSS rules!!!

carrier123:  I agree with dubuef that Moseley/Pacquiao is a much better fight to watch than Pacquiao/Mayweather or any Mayweather fight. But I disagree that Moseley has a better chance beating Pacquiao than Mayweather. Pacquiao is simply a much better and stronger athlete with power in both hands and a granite chin, with a slight edge on speed compared to Mayweather who does not have a strong chin and punching power. Being close to 40 years of age It would be better for moseley to avoid pacman and fight floyd instead. Moseley has a much better jab than ricky hatton who landed a good one against floyd during the first round of their fight.

mabii:  What amazes me is the fact that when all is said and done everyone knows deep in thier hearts that that the Pacmans real and ultimate test will be to fight Floyd Mayweather Junior. We can debate Floyds faults to high noon. The fact remains that he is an extraordinary fighter, one of the best of our generation and so is Pacman. Each fighters legacy will not be complete without the other. Ask anyone who they want manny to fight next or vice versa and the answer is universal: Floys Mayweather Junior! Why? Because in spite of all his spoiled brat antics, he remains an abundantly talented fighter. This is the kicker though - I really do feel deep inside me that Floyd has not yet been made to fight outside his comfort zone. The one time it really happened was against Corley and we know what happened. What happens when manny faces a fighter who is as fast or maybe faster? What happens when manny throws a five punch combination and just cannot hit Mayweather cleanly? Both fighters have exellent stamina. I dont see Manny landing enough clean punches to hurt Mayweather unless he really makes it a dogfight like Hatton tried to do. I feel I have seen everything Manny has to offer which is great and awesome. The intangible is that I do not think we have yet seen the best of mayweather because he always fights at about 70% of his real ability. Now that frightens me because what happens when he fights at 100% if made to, which is what will happen if and when both gladiators get in the squared ring?

the Morlocks:  Once he retires, Mayweather will be forgotten as quickly as Whitaker was. Boring safety first fighters always are, while fighters like Pac, Duran, Chavez, even a Gatti are remembered and talked about forever. How many people talk about Pernell or Gypsy Joe or fighters w/ a safety first approach?

The Saint:  @Salt lover and GOAT: It is a fact that Floyd and all of his fans are jealous of Pacquiao. And now, we're talking about welterweight. Floyd has zero credentials as a welterweight, the best welter he fought was Judah, who earned his shot at Mayweather by LOSING to Baldomir. Mayweather "haters" hate him because he refuses to fight ANY of the top fighters in his weightclass. I don't come here to argue about what Pacquiao and Mayweather WOULD do to each other in the ring, it's all hypothetical. What's obvious is Mayweather doesn't really want to fight Pacquiao. Mayweather will price himself out or else keep fighting chumps while Pacquiao faces top opposition and possibly lose.

ea88k:  If as expected, mayweather priced himself out of the fight, I will be more interested to see Pacquiao vs. Yuri Foreman. This will give Manny the 8th belt in his collection. As Freddie Roach said, this is an easy fight. But of course, he has to convince Manny to go up another weight division again. An eight belt will be impossible to break making Manny Pacquiao the only greatest boxer of all time.

Angie And Goody...23 Years Later
Twenty three years later after they seconded Marvin Hagler and Ray Leonard in Las Vegas, Goody Petronelli and Angelo Dundee crossed paths again. This time, it was at Foxwoods. Photo/friend of TSS "The Iceman" John Scully reports there were only pleasantries exchanged. Goody didn't debate the split decision victory enjoyed by Leonard, which to this day Hagler disputes.
