Pacquiao, Cotto Weigh In On Halloween Costume Choices

TRICK OR TREATING WITH MANNY PACQUIAO
AND MIGUEL COTTO AS FIGHTERS PICK FOREMAN AND ALI FOR "DREAM" HALLOWEEN COSTUME

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 29, 2009) - Although MANNY PACQUIAO and MIGUEL COTTO won't be passing out their own candy corn or carving their own pumpkins, or dressing up to trick or treat, both fighters can't resist the fun and mischief the holiday brings through a ghost of an idea that lightens their "ghouling" training schedules as they continue to prepare for their November 14 welterweight showdown at MGM Grand in Las Vegas live on HBO Pay-Per-View®.

Each fighter has created a costume "dream" scenario for this year's Halloween. When asked, "If you could dress up as any boxer in history (and it can't be yourself), who would it be and would it be a trick or a treat?"

Both phenoms selected two of boxing all-time greats without knowing the other's choice.  See who they'll be for a celebratory Halloween scream!!

MANNY PACQUIAO
Treat-"I would be "BIG" GEORGE FOREMAN. Not only because it would give me an opportunity to win a world title in an eighth weight division but in a division I would never be big enough to grow into on my own.  Plus, I would be big enough to play power forward in the NBA!"

MIGUEL COTTO
Treat-"I would be MUHAMMAD ALI who besides being a great boxer is a sports icon who transcended the sports pages. And if I could be another athlete, I would be a NFL running back ADRIAN PETERSON who combines power with speed just like me."

Isaiah:  If Floyd Mayweather Jr was around, I'd wear a Shane Mosley mask, walk by him and say hi. Guarantee he'd need diapers after that. HA! No could whoop me unless they were wearing a Sugar Ray Robinson mask. It's either that, or dress up like George W. Bush with a shirt that says, "Miss me yet?"
Thursday Oct 29, 2009 09:23:38 PM
Anony @ Isaiah:  YOU GUYS ARE FUNNY!!!! but sure the Bush shirt would be a hit!!!! The guy that screwed and lie to the world is a free citizen while soldiers keep dying in his staged war. Sad story. Scary face. A Halloween hit for sure. Props to a real president - Obama.

Fe'Roz :  I'm going out as Antonio Margarito. I've made some changes to a Frankenstein mask and a Mummy costume. The hands will be bloody....but wrapped loosely to stir the imagination. I'm trick or treating in the Bronx.

Fe'Roz:  Mister Lee, I would be Jay-z ......but I'm not! Ho about the "Invisible Man": Uncle Evangelista. You could put a blindfold on and/or throw a blanket over your head. That way you cover both bases. He was either NOT in the dressing room watching the wraps......or he was there but couldn't see. Either way, his man got beat. BTW, this one is EM's. It was his idea.

MisterLee:  Hmm.... I would be Ann Wolfe, but not manly enough... I can be... "Hello I'm Jim Lampley, and for the past decade the Golden Boy has dominated the division.... *BROADCAST* Oh and it's a terrific left hook, Ferocious Fernando Vargas experiences the first loss of his career !! *BROADCAST OFF* And now we present you with "Oscar's Greatest Hits".... or how about Larry Merchant... "Say Margarito, you said you'd make Mosley's night a world of pain, WHAT did you find out today?" Jerry Olivia "Hola, necesita un amiga blanca en fuego en los pantalones"... blah blah blah Jerry Oliva: "He says Mosley is a great fighter, and why are you asking me about a burning cat in my pants" "Thank you Tony, you gave us a great fight..." Or Max Kellerman... "HAVE YOU LEARNED YOUR LESSON? Manny pacquiao! That's something that'll get your attention!" Pc!

2009 Reader Of The Year Weighs In On Legacies Of Pacquiao And Mayweather
"Pacquiao has proven....in the ring... time and time again that he is the greatest of this time. He has earned his respect. He begs for nothing. He is a man content with his growth, his family and his achievements. A man the world has now turned it's eyes to behold. Floyd Mayweather is not even close in stature. He may possess the greatest skills but he is not the Face of Boxing today. Google Manny Pacquiao. There are 20 million searches. Google Floyd. There are 6.5 million. Look at the NYTimes, the Wall Street Journal and Time. Count how many words were used these past years to mention Floyd Mayweather. Then count the words still being printed about Manny. And keep counting. As I've said many times, Floyd has been too clever by half. He has short changed his public.....and has out-smarted himself. Manny will fight but a few more times. Enjoy it while you can. He is an all time great pugilist. Floyd, with all of his remarkable skills lack the will to be truly great in the biggest sense of the word. His legacy will look more like Holmes that Ali. He has earned it." ---November is half-way gone, but we don't need to keep counting ballots. It's a landslide. Fe'Roz has won the 2009 Reader of the Year award. His comments add to the website immeasurably, and he epitomizes the thoughtful, respectful, educated fan of pugilism we strive to cater to at TSS. Congrats, Fe'Roz, and please accept my thanks for being the valued member of this community that you are. Sincerely, Editor Mike
