The favorite to win the Super Six will come to the US to get acclimated to California. Froch and Abraham had home field advantages, not Kessler. Will it matter?

Kessler Coming To Cali

KESSLER MOVES CAMP TO CALIFORNIA THIS WEEKEND

Viking Warrior Sends Special Message To His Fans

COPENHAGEN (October 28, 2009) – WBA Super-Middleweight Champion Mikkel Kessler will move his
training camp to California at the end of this week to continue his preparation for his Super Six World Boxing
Classic opener against Andre Ward. The November 21 clash will air live on SHOWTIME at 10 p.m. ET/PT
(delayed on the West Coast).

Kessler today caught up with his fans, sending out a special newsletter via his website,
www.mikkelkessler.com. Feel free to have a look at his Facebook page - it has close to 125,000 fans.

Here is the latest from the Viking Warrior:

“With just 25 days between now and the fight, I wanted to give you a quick update on my preparation. As you
know, I am very thankful for all your support. Please keep it up.

“For the last couple of weeks I have been sparring with a rather tough guy, Sergej, from Lithuania. He has
given me a good idea about where I stand before the Ward fight on November 21.

“Looking back at the Perdomo fight, I think it was my luck that the fight only lasted four rounds. That made
the recovery period shorter, and that is something I benefit of now as I am preparing for the Ward fight. At
the same time I also benefit from the hard preparation ahead of the Perdomo fight. Physically, I was in great
shape, and I am already close to reaching a good level for my Super Six opener.

“As a result of my physical condition I am now able to focus on the tactical dimensions and how to get one
step ahead of my young American opponent. Fighting Ward, who has been called the next big American
fighter, is a great challenge for me, no doubt about that. Having said that, I am used to tough challenges,
which makes me confident thinking about the fight. At the end of the day I have fought more than twice the
fights that Ward has.

“A well-structured preparation is one of the most valuable elements for a win. Is the physical shape as it
should be? The tactical understanding - do I know my opponent´s strength and weaknesses? My nutrition -
do I eat the right things at the right time? And finally have I adapted to the surroundings in which the fight
takes place? My career has taught me that the circadian rhythm is one of those elements that can break you
during the fight. With that in mind, I have decided to leave for Sacramento, California at the end of this week.
That gives me three weeks to adapt to the US environment and time zone. That should be more than
enough to be ready on November 21.

“During the last 3 weeks up to the fight I will update you guys in text and pictures on the website as well as
on Facebook. Talking about Facebook, I am very grateful about the attention I get at the fan site. More than
100.000 have signed up after the Perdomo fight - which is amazing! My promise to you guys is to do
whatever is in my power to win the Ward fight as a thank you for your support and interest in my career!”

AFN:  Unless Kessler shows more upper body and head movement than he did in his last outing, he'll lose a UD to my joint favourite to win the tournie, SOG Ward. He looked as square as your dad at your high school prom, relied on superior power, and an inferior opponent. Andre on the other hand, looked fast, sharp, dynamic, and maintained that perfect skin with a solid defence. IMHO. EL TOONOY

RIVERSIDE:  pressure is on sog, the other two american have lost two european fighter, doesn't seem right, this side of the pond has always had the dominant fighters, sog, he is our last line of defense in the tournament, if he beats kessler, no easy task, he will take tournament...

Isaiah:  You all are seriously underestimating Kessler. Anyone can have a bad night. I maybe American, but I know talent when I see it. Ward is going to get a rude awakening in the form of a UD against him. Kessler wins this tournament for sure. Kessler/Abraham in the finals for sure! That's the fight I want to see!

TotoyBato:  Kessler will dominate Ward. Ward does not have the punch output to disrupt Kessler's timing. Ward does not posses power to hurt Kessler. Ward will be flashy but will be ineffective against a skilled boxer with great timing. Kessler will time Ward and deliver that deceptive (seemingly slow and floating) Knock-out punch. The next big American will still be small compared to the Europeans. Kessler vs Abraham is the supersix, all the others are just fillers, just extra meat.

MisterLee:  Andre Ward 2009! Please don't round andre ward with the BRONZE medalist inexperienced guy (who exceeded expectations) or the gassed out JT who came off of 3 losses out 4, two by devastating knockout including his LAST fight, where he got KTFO, BUT, he's the biggest name in the tournament. JT gave the tournament more legitimacy vs. Bute, andrade, allan green, bika, or miranda. And let's be real man, 3 americans, andre ward , andre dirrell and jermaine taylor have NOTHING in common. I'll dig a little deeper, this whole super six as great as it is it is partially political: 3 white european champions or ex champions vs. 3 african american top level contenders, two former olympic medalists and a former undisputed middleweight champ (from beating ONE guy, then defending agst two bums losing in a "draw" and then getting knocked out). The three afican american fighters would bring excitement in the tournament while the 3 europeans are established champions. it really is great marketing for american viewers, but honestly, pple are right, if bute or pavlik (maybe he would) or bika or andrade or miranda were in the mix they would not get the same viewership. With that, dirrell and ward are the only ones with a chance to win, JT is just a gas out pass out who refuses to see a sports psychologist and get a new trainer, and refuses to throw leather. Holler!

2009 Reader Of The Year Weighs In On Legacies Of Pacquiao And Mayweather
"Pacquiao has proven....in the ring... time and time again that he is the greatest of this time. He has earned his respect. He begs for nothing. He is a man content with his growth, his family and his achievements. A man the world has now turned it's eyes to behold. Floyd Mayweather is not even close in stature. He may possess the greatest skills but he is not the Face of Boxing today. Google Manny Pacquiao. There are 20 million searches. Google Floyd. There are 6.5 million. Look at the NYTimes, the Wall Street Journal and Time. Count how many words were used these past years to mention Floyd Mayweather. Then count the words still being printed about Manny. And keep counting. As I've said many times, Floyd has been too clever by half. He has short changed his public.....and has out-smarted himself. Manny will fight but a few more times. Enjoy it while you can. He is an all time great pugilist. Floyd, with all of his remarkable skills lack the will to be truly great in the biggest sense of the word. His legacy will look more like Holmes that Ali. He has earned it." ---November is half-way gone, but we don't need to keep counting ballots. It's a landslide. Fe'Roz has won the 2009 Reader of the Year award. His comments add to the website immeasurably, and he epitomizes the thoughtful, respectful, educated fan of pugilism we strive to cater to at TSS. Congrats, Fe'Roz, and please accept my thanks for being the valued member of this community that you are. Sincerely, Editor Mike
