Bhop is a smart man,.. he knows he's got to get that feeling back again,.. how long has it been since he's been in the ring?? too long,.. and I'm sure he refuses to be humiliated a second time by Roy Jones,.. (actually it wasn't a humiliating loss,.. but a convincing one),.. I dont' know if I want to see his tune up... but I'm glad he's thinking ahead,..

I mentioned this already last night on the Mosley/Berto article. Anyway, to brownsugar, so you admit that you would rather be ripped off by Floyd in on a PPV in which you admit was a tuneup instead of seeing an equally skilled guy like Bernard Hopkins fighting on regular HBO or something similiar? Boy, get off Floyd's NUT$ already!

Isaiah,.. listen son,.. I've simply stated the obvious,.. the fact that Floyd made millions on a tuneup isn't my fault,. it just shows how 2 fighters approach the business end of the sport in different ways,.. the fact that Mayweather can tune up on a P4P champ and get himself a fat check shows that he has a firm grasp on both ends of the game,.. the boxing end and the business end,.. Why?? because how many of Bernards fights are really that interesting to watch,.. if Bhop had the same marketability of Floyd (meaning if he possessed the skill to generate that much interest,.. he would),. ITS AN OBSERVATION.....so get off my NUTs already,..

Guys. I think its insulting to compare Enrique Ornelas to Marquez. Marquez was no tuneup. He helped to generate those fat PPV numbers and he is/was a legitimate pound for pound contender. If Jones beats Danny Green then I pick him in an easy win over B - Hop. Juts the wrong style for Bernard plus Jones has been active and just looks to have his confidence back. Also Jones fought 10 hard rounds with Lacy and showed good stamina. Good fight for these seniors though. Young fighters should tune in and learn a thing or two about old school fighting.

you ppl cry and nag about floyd fighting a tuneup against marquez who is a great fighter after floyd has been off for almost 2 years but yet you are okay with hopkins fighting a tuneup against ornelas who? floyd took on a challenge to get ready for much bigger ventures. why didn't hopkins take on a sergio mora or david lopez, allan green or sakio bika.

@ kountedout. Because Floyd Mayweather JR. took a guy who is two divisions below the welterweight division, who had no physical advantages whatsoever and Hopkins is 45 years old and he is taking on a super middle weight, but a much younger guy. Also, Hopkins don't avoid fighters. He has taken on the best that his weight divisions had to offer. Has Floyd? He won't even fight the top five welterweights in his division. Floyd skills are comparable to Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. I'm a huge fan. However, the difference between those guys and Floyd is that he won't take on the top guys in his division that will help him define his greatness. Can you Imagine Muhammad Ali being afraid to take on George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, Ernie Shavers, and the other top guys that he took on when he was on top, just because they were a threat to him? Floyd should have taken on a welterweight if he wanted a tune up. He had nothing to gain by beating up on a light weight champion. It doesn't matter if the guy was second pound for pound champion. Do you honestly think that Floyd would hold his own against Kelly Pavlik or a Paul Williams, who is two divisions higher than him? No, because he wouldn't have any physical advantages, except speed nor could he hurt any of them if he connected. Kelly Pavlik would walk him down and knock him out.

You guys are going to get carpal tunnel syndrome writing the same stuff over and over. Mayweather fans are going to keep believing whatever Mayweather does is all right. Mayweather critics are going to keep saying the same things about him having a lot to prove. All we can do is wait and see if he will fight some of the best ww's. God, I sure hope he does. Ali says he will and I'm waiting and hoping he is right.

Hey Pete, the powers that be have started misspelling your name as "M___ 'Pete' Seward. Did you get in the witness protection program or something? What's up with the misspelling? Maybe Editor Mike should not have ever invited Prez Obama to any boxing matches. The Secret Services is all up in TSS Universe's grill nowadays. Holla!

hopkins never faced james toney at middleweight or mike mccallum. toney even called hopkins out to this very day. you think hopkins is old school then you never have seen toney fight. i have never seen someone take holyfield to school until toney did. it doesn't matter what no matter what floyd does he will have ppl saying negative things about him because they are just upset because he is that good. didn't hopkins fight carl daniels who once fought at 140 and was a blown up middleweight? didn't hopkins fight oscar who was a blown up welterweight? you guys act like floyd is the only fighter in the world that supposedly did something wrong. Jermain taylor fought fighters smaller then him his entire career.

Brownsugar, Bennard is an effective smart fighter, and yes, his fights can be kind of boring sometimes, but I would argue the same in Mayweather's case. In fact, I'd say watching a lot of Mayweather's fights are as exciting as watching paint dry. I'd even say he's bad for the sport of boxing because he's so f*cking boring and if he's the "best in the world" then that doesn't say much for the sport.

Bhop has fought the best in his OWN weight division before, and 20 something title defenses. Has floyd ever defended a belt that many times? Here's the big question: Has floyd ever fought a fighter in his own weight class that was ALSO on the p4p top 10 list when they fought? Holler! (mosley has, de la hoya, margarito, cotto [if not at the time he sure was after the fight], winky wright, vernon forrest). Pc out, if you're a real Floyd fan , answer the question, and don't duck it like Floyd ducks welterweights and jr. middleweights. Holler!

Angie And Goody...23 Years Later
Twenty three years later after they seconded Marvin Hagler and Ray Leonard in Las Vegas, Goody Petronelli and Angelo Dundee crossed paths again. This time, it was at Foxwoods. Photo/friend of TSS "The Iceman" John Scully reports there were only pleasantries exchanged. Goody didn't debate the split decision victory enjoyed by Leonard, which to this day Hagler disputes.
