Paul Williams and Chris Arreola Score KOs

By David A. Avila

ONTARIO-The South’s gentleman killer Paul Williams and Riverside, California’s heavyweight rocker Chris Arreola both made a big splash on Saturday.

First, Williams punished IBF titleholder Verno Phillips (42-11-1, 21 KOs) on his birthday for eight brutal rounds in front of 5,400 fans at the brand new Citizens Business Bank Arena, many of those fans watching their first Las Vegas style fight card.

If you look at Phillips' record you would notice that he has never been stopped in a title fight despite fighting a number of monsters in the welterweight and junior middleweight division for 20 years.

Not this time.

Williams took a butt to the head that caused a two-inch cut on the side of his right eye that poured blood the entire fight. Phillips noticed it and it sparked even more activity from the gutsy fighter from Belize.

“I tried to hit him on the cut,” said Phillips after the fight. “But he covered up pretty good.”

Instead of complaining or falling out of sync, Williams seemed to be telling himself that he was not going to let Phillips do what Carlos Quintana had done a year ago and lull him into an unplanned fight plan.

“That was the first time I bled like that,” said Williams (36-1, 27 KOs) who fought the entire eight rounds with blood blurring his vision. “It’s part of boxing.”

For two rounds Williams began gauging Phillips' sharp blows then around the third round the six feet, three inch Georgia fighter began loading up and firing punches to the body of the junior middleweight. After several blows it was easy to see that Phillips felt the punches.

“I felt the third round was the turning point and I could feel his legs leaving him.”

Every round from the third round was a carbon copy with Williams walking through Phillip’s punches and firing crunching blows to the body. Slowly Phillips began to wilt but kept landing an occasional big blast to remind his taller opponent he still had sting left in his punches.

In the seventh round Phillips stepped up his output and caught Williams with several good blows. It looked like the smaller boxer was going to win another round when suddenly Williams slipped into another gear and blasted away at the body. That round seemed to sap the confidence out of Phillips.

Sensing that Phillips was wilting, the WBO welterweight titleholder Williams stepped forward against the brave Phillips and belted him from side to side. Phillips was turned around on a couple of punches but refused to quit. He fired back and just couldn’t muster the energy from the earlier rounds. Williams poured it on.

At the end of the eighth round ringside physician Paul Wallace examined Phillips and advised referee Jon Schorle to stop the fight, for a technical knockout for Williams.

“He wasn’t responding to my questions,” said Wallace.

Williams jumped out of his corner realizing that he had beaten a good champion in Phillips who had never been stopped in a title fight.

Now, Williams seeks another worthy opponent, whether it’s in the welterweight, junior middleweight or middleweight division.

“I’ve been calling out people for 10 years,” said Williams who prefers to fight Antonio Margarito in a rematch. Williams beat the WBA welterweight titleholder in 2007. “I believe I can beat anybody in the world. Bring it on.”

Arreola

Travis “Freight Train” Walker (28-2-1, 22 KOs) had said all along that he was going to knock Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola out (26-0, 23 KOs).

Man, did he give it a good try.

The heavy-handed Floridian came out winging and landed numerous left hooks and right uppercuts. For most of the first round Walker beat Arreola to the punch repeatedly. Every time Arreola tried to do something Walker would come in blazing and find the mark. Arreola wobbled several times but grabbed to keep the attack under control. In the final 30 seconds Arreola landed a solid left hook that made Walker wobble.

“He’s a strong guy, I felt him right away,” said Arreola, 27. “I wanted to see what he had to offer.”

Walker sensed that he had hurt Arreola and wanted to keep the momentum going. It was a good plan but it was the same plan that the Riverside fighter had too. Unknown to anyone in the arena, Arreola had hurt his left elbow earlier in the week during sparring and complained to his trainer that it was hurting more.

“He told me, 'My elbow is hurting,'" said trainer Henry Ramirez. “I told him you better finish him off quick.”

Instead of finishing him off, it was Arreola who was nearly finished with a right hand to the chin that dropped him to one knee for a knockdown. It was the first time he had ever been knocked down.

“I was thinking I got to get back up and get that point back or win the round or drop him a couple of times,” said Arreola, who took a count of eight on one knee before getting back up.

Bad elbow, bruised chin and bruised ego, Arreola stormed back in the round with his own left hand right cross that wobbled Walker. A lead right hand followed by a left hook dropped Walker for the first time in the fight. The entire crowd, most of them cheering for Arreola, roared in approval for the first time in the fight.

The Florida fighter beat the count and was met with the same right cross-left hook combination and was dropped again. Again he beat the count and the bell rang to end one of the best heavyweight rounds of the year.

“I saw where he was throwing a little lazy jab,” said Arreola about making adjustments in mid round. “I was studying his power and what kind of punches he got.”

With renewed vigor in Arreola’s eyes and more respect in Walkers' posture, the third round saw the Riverside fighter advance quickly to fire a right hand that connected solidly. A blow to the body forced Walker to retreat to a corner where he was met with a right hand and yet another left hook that knocked him down in a heap. Referee Jack Reiss immediately waved off the fight only 13 seconds into the third round for a knockout victory for Arreola.

Walker protested the stoppage.

“I don’t think I was hurt,” said Walker. “I’ll have to see a replay of the tape.”

Arreola jumped on top of the ropes in every corner as the crowd of supporters cheered.

“A lot of people criticized my weight, but all I was worried about was going to war with this guy,” said Arreola.

Many at ringside called it one of the best heavyweight fights since Vitali Klitshcko battled Lennox Lewis 60 miles west in Los Angeles.

Grabbing the microphone, Arreola asked the crowd if it’s one of the Klitschkos that they want to see him fight?

They roared in approval.

Arreola said he would be getting back in the gym quickly to make sure he’s more than ready to test one of the Klitschkos next year. He also thanked Goossen-Tutor Promotions and Al Haymon his manager for picking him out of the club fight circuit.

“They picked me when I was nothing,” Arreola said. “I appreciate that.”

Shawn Estrada wins

Olympic boxing star Shawn Estrada (1-0) of East Los Angeles won his pro debut with a bang. A right hand to the body and a barrage of punches dropped Washington D.C.’s Lawrence Jones (2-2-1), a southpaw, at 1:00 of the first round of the middleweight bout.

Manuel Quezada

Bakersfield heavyweight Manuel Quezada (25-4, 15 KOs) won by unanimous decision over Las Vegas boxer Teke Oruh (14-2-1, 6 KOs) in a slow-paced 10 round bout. No knockdowns were scored in the glacier affair and neither took many chances. In the end, Quezada was busier and won according to the judges 98-92 on all three score cards.

Lopez

Josesito Lopez (23-3, 14 KOs) plowed through Florida’s Alex Perez (23-32-4) in two rounds and stopped the Cuban fighter with a four-punch combination ending with a left hook. Referee Wayne Hedgepeth stopped the fight at 2:36 of the second round. Lopez had dropped Perez earlier in the round with a left hook to the jaw.

Dallas

In a welterweight contest, Mike Dallas Jr. of Bakersfield and Jose Lugo of Mexico fought to a six round majority draw. It was Dallas' speed versus Lugos' power in an entertaining back and forth struggle. The scores were 58-56 for Dallas, and 57-57 twice for a majority draw.

Bowe-Holyfield 4 NOW - The public is ready for it:  Arreola should have taken the fight against Klitschko in 2 weeks. He'd KO Dr. Glassjaw more easily than his work last night. It's an easy fight that would have landed him a couple of titles. He should have taken that fight for free, because he'd win with ease and then he'd control the division and would get paid later in his title defenses. Literally, he should have fought Klitschko for only the expense of the trip over there. Not a nickel more, because he'd cash in later.

Bowe-Golota 3 NOW - Quench the public's thirst for this fight NOW:  Williams looked GREAT. The man is a force to be reckoned with.

andy from newcastle:  @DAVID AVILLA, or any other TSSer who can answer. Quick question. Who are the two young brothers and , I guess, their father (light brown suit, yellow tie), who are ALWAYS in the ring before and after so many televised fights? They were standing behind Paul at the end of this one. Toonoy Arreola showed us he can bang and take one, but Walker is a C class fighter at best, and he needs to step up in class for a couple of bouts before he gets in the ring with the Klits. James Toney would school him. As for the Punisher, Kelly Pavlik. Best fight out there for both of them. Either could win, could be a classic, and as high profile as it comes. Toonoy again. WHERE ARE You DON? Waiting on your Toon report.

palomo:  Unless you were there photographing it or ringside, everyone has failed to mention that Chris was basically getting the hell beat out of him until Walker lost his mouthpiece. This gave Chris an extra 20 seconds to recoup and then the fight changed dramatically. If it weren't for that extra time, Chris may have not made it out of the second round. It looks as if Arreola's usual plan of "taking two to give one" almost backfired. He really needs to get his butt to school and learn how to box and then bang. Right now, he is a recipe for disaster against a top heavyweight such as the Klitschko's or even a well-disciplined, but used up James Toney. A better boxer he needs to become in order for his bravado to secure a title. Right now, with this particular style, he is a boxing lesson away from getting schooled.

SchoolOfHardKnocks:  Andy..I will let you know in a second but I want to see if the guy who's calling people on here posers, haters and says he has played the game, which you don't play boxing will come out and tell you who he is. I don't care to mention his name but everyone knows who he is. I agree with you analysis on Arreola. I would pick The Punisher to beat Pavlik if they fought because if Pavlik hasn't worked on better footwork and defense he can't beat those types of guys that knows how to give him movement. But I will let you know who that guy is, he comes from my gym

Radam G aka Humble PRG:  The "Freight Train" was nightmared into the engine that could not. Yup, he came out with the loud choo choo, but a legit Nightmare ain't scare of no train. Chris is a sure shot for the First Mexican-Cali heavyweight world champ. Holla!

Anony:  ::: NEITHER OF THEM MADE A "BIG SPLASH" IN MY OPINION ::: Verno Phillips didn't look in his best shape as he was gasping for air as early as the 2nd round (which he won as well as the 1st round despite what HBO commentators were saying).. from then on he was mismatched but still dangerous as he was throwing wild hooks that connected sometimes. I TRULY WONDER WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF HE THREW UPPERCUTS when Williams was approaching... he missed LOTS of chances to truly damage Paul. ::::: CHRIS ARREOLA LOOKED FAT, SLOW AND HURTED.... HE IS NOT READY FOR ANY OF THE KLITSCHKO. MAX KELLERMAN LOOKED MORE LIKE A PROMOTER THAN A BOXING COMMENTATOR. I LIKED HIM BUT PLEASE... STOP KISSING PAUL'S ARCE. I TRULY BELIEVE COTTO CAN TAKE WILLIAMS OUT IF THEY MATCH.

Real Talk:  Arreola is a BUM!!! Can't box , only has power . It only shows how far the heavywieght div. has declined . SAD Dueces
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Lindsey:  Arreola has a tremendous beard and can punch. His skills are rudimentary but those two attributes should carry him to the throne. There's nobody on planet Earth that can beat the man, let's face it. It's Arreola time right now. Open the history books and start writing the chapter titled ARREOLA.
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Jo:  Arreola appears FAT to me. Either Klitschko will tear him apart.
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Real Talk:  The ref stop the fight way too quick . What happen to the day when boxing was boxing ??? Perfect example : Foreman vs. Lyle . They was scared to death Arreola was gonna get KO'd . Only delaying the inevitable . You hear how Max told Arreola he wasn't ready ......he he he . Get them 10,000 hrs. up Cris . Anony ... I like Cotto , but he needs to come back slowly and doesn't need to fight Williams . Maybe in three fights I'll feel different . But now he needs to do it the old fashion way and work his way back into it . I would love to see Cotto back now hitting somebodies ribs but it's not the best thing for him . One of my favorite things is bodypunching , truly beautiful . Deuces
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
SchoolOfHardKnocks:  Palomo..RealTalk..That's some real talk. I agree all the way. I don't think Bob Arum would do it but I would love to see Cotto fight Williams. That would be a total mismatch. He just can't beat the man. He don't have the movement and boxing ability to get away from Williams. There is no good heavyweights in America bottom line. So we have to look at Arreola, Estrada, Johnson. Are those the best 3? I think a washed up Shannon Briggs can still beat those guys..lol
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Big Daddy Doesn't BUY Wolf Tix:  1. P-Willie is TOUGH.. would love to see him against Pavlik since Margarito is tied up with Cotto rematch (???) 2. Chris Arreola is ALL-HYPE.. As much as I would LOVE to see a Mexican HW Champ, Arreola would be pathetic, it's bad enough that John Ruiz is the First Hispanic HW Champ in History. 2. Max Kellerman needs to be FIRED!.. It's like having to listen to Radam Gibberish.. 10,000 Hours of What !?!?.. His Boxing Knowledge is SO shallow that he compared the RJ- Griffin Fights to the Wiliams-Quintana Fights.. What!? RJ was DQ'ed in the First Fight ( Which he was winning) , where as Quintana beat Williams Fair and Sqaure in their first fight.

Radam G aka Humble PRG:  Come on, SchoolOfHardKnocks, you misread what I posted. I was not talking about you selling wolf tickets. Come on, man! It takes one to know one. I know that you know the game -- and you know that "GAME" is boxing talk. First, when I said that there are a lot of posers, fakers, haters and busters, I was telling you that, not saying that you are one of them. Anybody who knows boxing know that you are sharp and have been in the game. Like I told you -- be loosey goosey! You know that boxing is all about relaxing. And the oldtimers said a lot about play(ing) all the time. They use to tell fighters to "take the play away," "make 'em play and then make 'em pay," "Da fool neva' played da gam.' (This is where Howard Cosell got the title for his best selling book -- "I've Never Played The Game." SOHK, I told you that you are a hard man. Nonetheless, it's all good. I'm not trying to get up in a pee pee contest. Trust me, SOHK, I know about 90 percent of the people in those hurt squares at all time. But I don't take baits. Maybe I'll see you around. Holla!
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
SchoolOfHardKnocks:  RadamG....My apologies completely! I misunderstood and thought you were ragging on me for no reason. I know when you mentioned the Johnny Bumphus you were right on the mark and I was impressed that you knew him and where he came from. Plus you mentioned Bruce & Donald Curry. I respect what you know and I just misunderstood. My bad and my apologies once again. I'm not hard but I did come up the hard way. No doubt, But Peace to you!

Radam G aka Humble PRG:  SchoolOfHardKnocks, see what I'm talking about. Like the guy Bozo Daddy Chunky. This dude is all about posing, faking and lying. And he actually believes that he is impressing somebody. And I know and you know that what is real is real. And those who have done it, know it. And can pick out a faker in nanosecond. This keyboard thug never quit coming, and really believes that nobody can spot him out as a jealous, childest, too-full-of-the-other-gender-homones imposter. Dude is a real blobber. He is all wet with the red. And this clown constantly patronized me about being a Pinoy. So you see this dude is not very bright. He comes up in the TSS Universe to thug, lie and hate. It is time for change. He should stop his fakery, bigotry, stereotyping and posing. Dude is really in need of some good therapy. Holla!
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Porcupine:  I've seen Arreola live (ringside for the TKO 8 over Malcom Tann) and used to think he was crude and ordinary but after studying him I realize he has great stamina for a chubby guy; not unlike George Foreman and James Toney before the first Rahman fight. He is not slow either, especially for a huge guy. He bends forward and fires short, arcing combos with full power. His style is all his own and very effective. Unfortunately I think this win will encourage him to cut even more corners in training.
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Big Daddy:  Radam Gibberish.. Are you looking for a shoulder to cry on? Homey, I've forgotten more about Boxing than you'll EVER know. Your Boxing \\"Knowlege\\" is ALL Google Search ,Wikpedia, and BoxRec. I've lost count of the many times I've read something on another Boxing Website.. Only to see you quote as your own the very next day. Your the WORST example of a Filipino that I've ever known... Pompous, Phoney, and Full of B.S. As for me being Racist.. LOL .. I'm Mexican-American.. Gotta Ton of Pinoy Homies.. and Voted for Obama with Great Pride.
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Radam G aka Humble PRG:  Bozo Daddy Chunky, grow up and go see Jenny Craig. You will help you out. Holla!
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Pete Steward:  254lbs!!!!!??? He's 20 POUNDS OVER! Arreola's has got to stop hanging around James Toney lol! He clearly has talent he's no IKE but if he come in perfect condition (225-230lbs) he can be force. The division is so weak that any big man that can come forward punch in combinations with power is going to be a nightmare for Wlady. Like Sanders Brewster. Vitali??? NO WAY He has an Anvil for a Chin and he's on another level Reach Strength Skill Will you name it. But Wlady? Arreola in supreme condition (25-30lbs lighter) with a few more good fights under a much soon to be leaner belt can be Nightmare for the SteelHammer.....Seriously!
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
Peter Egley:  I did not get to see the matches, but it kinda sounds like Walker and Arreola should do it again. I remember Tim Witherspoon was I believe criticized about his conditioning. I saw Arreola's last fight and never really wanted to see him again. It sounds like this match was no piece of cake for Arreola!lol

Anony:  :::::::: PLEASE STOP PICKING ON RADAM G. WHEN HE SAYS HE KNOWS IT ALL, HE TRULY DO. HE ALSO HAS A GREAT RECORD PICKING FIGHTS AND WHEN HE LOOSES ONE... HE EXHIBITS THE BEST OF KNOWLEDGE ON WHY IS THAT... LIKE WHEN HE DISCOVERED THAT CASAMAYOR IS REALLY 47 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME HE FOUGHT MARQUEZ... TRULY THAT SHOWS SOME POWER RESEARCH AND BRILLIANT KNOWLEDGE ::::::
Sunday Nov 30, 2008
DaveB:  You guys are really funny. Wherever there are people there are going to be fights, but at least you don't get down and dirty like I've seen at other websites, be they boxing or not. Anyway I do agree the Peter Egley, Walker & Arreola should do it again. Walker looked very capable of continuing. I think it would have resulted in him losing anyway, so that is why no one protested, but I don't think he was finished just yet. As for Williams, do what you are doing man until you can get a buzz about you and people will have to come your way. It is starting to get ridiculous as it is with people avoiding you and calling themselves champion.

mortcola:  Respect to Arreola for having great fighting heart, keeping his cool, and solving the problem. He will gain the public interest because he's entertaining, colorful, has power, and puts on a good show. Bigger problem is that he is crude, slow, fat, and can't get out of the way of a punch. Walker was defenseless and punched with his hands low, his elbows, out, his chin dangling, and no concept of what to do when hurt. The idea that Arreola could have anything more than a puncher's chance against either of the Klitschko boys is laughable. Yes, Vlad can be hurt. But in spite of his shaky chin and ring anxiety, he has dissected and knocked out bigger, more skilled punchers than Chris. Vitali, more so - and he has an iron chin. Arreola is fun, and may hang around the top ten as long as his chin holds up - but he will not stay on top very long, if he gets there at all. Future trial-horse.

Radam G aka Humble PRG:  Anony, you Internet kingpin, I don't need anything from your fake, naïve behind. As for Bozo Daddy Beefy, goofy thinks that he can fool this whole TSS Universe into accepting his sociopathic, bigoted behavior. Nobody in this universe has ever say to another person in here that he/she is the "worst example" of his/her race or ethnicity, but this low-on-brain cell poser, faker, wannabe star. All can see for yourself that this bigot believes he is exempted and special. And he believes he can follow that statement with comments like: "(I have a ton) of Filipino friends." Now ain't that remindful of bigots and racists who say, "Some of my best friends are black," "Some of my best friends are white," "Some of my best friends are Mexican, "Some of my best friends are Puerto Rican," etc., etc. Then they follow it up, in the words of Bozo Daddy, "I'm not racist." The whole universe can see that Bozo Daddy Chunky Jealous is an Archie Bunker -- a 1970s TV character -- BIGOT! Turtle-brained Bozo Daddy is patronizing and stereotyping me and all Pinoys. But in his own word, he's a "Dufus" and don't know it.I guess this delusional keyboard thug, with a bad tude and bigoted behavior issues, is a god of ethnicity and racial behavior. So you better act his stereotype of your ethnicity or race, or he calls you "The worst example" of your race. And it is so because he said it, he is too dumb too see that he is a textbook bigot. This clown has anger management issues, income jealousy problems and a tough time accepting he lives with many failures. And venting and bigoted wilding won't help him. Dudette couldn't carry my jockstrap, so he uses the low thing that he can -- patronizing -- offensively condescending behavior. Holla!
Monday Dec 1, 2008
Radam G aka Humble PRG:  Wow! I'm shocked! Bozo Daddy, the god of how someone of a race or ethnicity suppose to act, is a big banker. This god of race behavior is rolling in food and money. The guy who called me the "worst example" of my ethnicity is a regular at the food bank and the blood bank, lmfao. Since this dude like calling out ethnicities that he is a "friend of," I want him to know that some Cali-Mexicans told me that. (They cannot stand this bozo's fakery and bigotry.) Bozo Daddy be getting his eat on, and his money on.He gets money from donating blood. It's all cool, Bozo Daddy. You told me that you have a "Pinoy girlfriend, lmfao. A Pinoy is a male, "dufus." But I'm not hating. I guess you like it that way. Myself! I don't roll that way. I'm all about a Pinay rolling with me. No matter what, dude be nice to my peeps. Bozo Daddy, you slip more by your fat tongue than by your fat foot. Keep on banking, big money! Holla!

Anony:  :::: RADAM ::::: Dude, you are a firecracker about to have a heart attack. You should take it cool. My friend, you are the one who let "keyboard thugs" like Big Daddy and me get into your brains. Can't you see we are just picking on you as 8 years old children do to their classmates? Who cares about ethnicity, or who knows more about boxing? FORGET ABOUT IT. In this complex world we are living, coming to the TSS website SHOULD BE a fun thing and not to be stressed by it like you get. Next time you read somebody saying something about you, start thinking you are back in Pinoy as a school kid and BE COOL. Sincerely, if you were not all that flashy about "where in the world" you are or "what big fight you attend arena" well... I guess less people will be picking on you. And it is not that people envy you or your deep pockets, God bless you for that and I mean it but... why flash it all the time?... man, that is obnoxious. You write "Radam G aka Humble PRG" but the humble part is truly missing. People like me notice this because I'm not into money as I have found out money is the disgrace of the world as it creates hate, division and spiritual decay so I actually hate when people flash their money as a sign of superiority or being proud about it. But that's another story. What I'm saying is that you create or motivate people to pick on you... and that's not a bad thing but learn to take a joke when it comes at you. Oh no... now I guess I will receive a boxing-ethnical-spiritual reply from you that will take 10 minutes to read... Oh well guys, be prepare for Radam's philosophy lecture. hahahaha. Love you man, I find you to be a very interesting character. And I mean it.

Radam G aka Humble PRG hanging out waiting for the PacMan sendoff:  Keep dreaming, Anony! Trust me! You are not "into (my) brains." You are too slow to hang there. I love having fun with you textbook wackos. And you guys are real idiots and don't know it. Lmfao! A mind is a terrible thing to waste. But you bozos won't have to worry about that. Your brains are already smooth. And dude, you have serious OCD. Keep it coming. My peeps and pals love me playing you dudes for what you are -- THE CLOWNS!
Monday Dec 1, 2008
Radam G aka Humble PRG hanging out waiting for the PacMan sendoff:  Oh yea! You are not only an OCD, Anony! You are lacking in comprehension. The person who cares about ethnicity is Bozo Daddy. He always brings it up. Like telling me about his "Green eyes...light skin Pinoy girlfriends." A Pinoy is a male. But I'm not hating the guy. He is a joke and so are you. Keep the laughs coming. I love you CLOWNS! I got my milk and money. You dudes are just like school of an eight at 2 in the morning -- no class. Holla!

Anony:  ::: RADAM.... YEAH, YEAH RIGHT... you have to admit we do get into your brains like ants crawling into their nest. I can feel it in your reply.... we are commanding your hate behavior to act just like we want it. So.... come on.... don't fight the emotions we implant in your Floyd Mayweather kind of mind where "you are the best (I don't know on what in your case) but don't prove nothing". Are you related to Floyd or happen to live in Vegas where that type of behavior is more common?? WE COMMAND YOU RADAM G.

Radam G aka Humble PRG hanging out waiting for the PacMan sendoff:  Anonymanchild, quit being an idiot. This universe is the sweet science, aka the hurt business. A real gamer can tell another one, as the old timers use to say by his aura (smell). Man, you are so revealing. All the real boxers and ex-ones in this universe know that you don't have the scent. There are so many things that you don't know that set off an alarm. You just don't know how pathetic you are. This is because you don't know the boxing game. It takes one to know one. I know clearly that you are no type of boxing material. You are an illusion in your own distorted brains. So is Bozo Daddy, especially him. I got the 411 on him. You too are probably a low income laborer, security guard or fast food worker. Man, you guys need to grow up and get out of those pitiful occupations. Holla!
Monday Dec 1, 2008
andy from newcastle:  Not getting involved, not getting involved, not getting involved. Just a shot in the dark, but I don't think that is the real Radam G. He's a man of honour and would be unlikely to comment on someone's occupation. If I'm wrong, then Radam, take a step back, and just let it wash over you. And then write and tell me who those three geezers are. SOHK, you too. Toonoy

Editor Mike:  Hey guys? I'd really rather this place not get bogged down into nasty back and forth. Let's be spirited, but respectful. Don't say anything you wouldn't say to someone's face, OK?

Radam G aka Humble PRG sub-teaching a college class:  Wow! My Toonoy bro, you are spot on. True! I ignore these dudes with the bad tudes, but some of my friends and guys in my posse don't. I'll admit that I let my entourage, pals, peeps and employees have some fun. It is a release for them. You must admit that the TSS Universe has some characters. Holla!

Anony:  Actualy I could have any occupation in the world, low income or filthy rich, and you will find out that doesn't dictate how knowledgeable I could be. That only can be dictated by the amount of information you gather in life so... why the heck do I need to be compared to a boxing "sicklopedia" like you to base my important knowledge in boxing or to contribute around here doing comments keeping boxing alive and WELL (I like to be positive instead of negative like most writers and reporters) like we all do here? Anyway I have always said that I'm not a boxing know-it-all and you know that my friend. BUT in the other hand this year alone my record is 10-1 and I don't bet... and I know you had lost many and don't deny it because we all here (the regulars) kind of keep mental record on who picks winners SOOOOOO... my dear friend Radam G... if you were a humble and positive thinking person you could find out that you should let me pick the winners and you win the money... that's not hard to do, you just need to wait until I write it down in TSS and then go do your bet. The record proves it. On the other hand, if you were a humble person for real you wouldn't be bragging about money and doing stupid comments on occupation and salaries... that speaks very low of yourself as Andy from Newcastle is finding out but doesn't want to say it amazed by the comment. It is because of that you get all this heat from us. For the record, I'm a Web Designer and I love what I do and I earn..... enough to take care of my family and share with others when there is a need. No fancy life but a very fulfilling one in this beautiful island. Anyway... forget it dude... be cool and remember to bet on my picks. That will do you better than trying to pose as a.... well, as a Radam G because you are your own character. I told you man, I kind of like you but you don't believe it. Andy, much respect. Big Daddy, please shut up... Radam is my friend, he just missed his "natural" medication today.... ♫ stir it up... little darling.... ♫ ☻ hehehehe. It is a wonderful world, why can't we all be cool??

The Watcher:  Shawn Estrada is one of the worst Olympians I have ever seen, he slapped his opponent with his forearms and palms, I had seen him at the Wild Card in preparation for this fight and thought that he would do better in his fight. "WRONG" eh "WROONG" he literally slapped almost every "punch" he is exactly what our Olympic team has proven to be H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E. Now I know why the big promoters past on him...

Guy:  I like Arreola's fighting spirit and killer instinct.....but his lack of conditioning and dedication are going to get him knocked out. Dude could be a beast if he put down the burritos and backed away from the menudo and put in some road work. Right now, he gets knocked out by either Klitschko.

DaveB:  I see Arreola's fighting style as I see David Tua's. Both men punch like mules but their styles aren't going to be effective against the Klitschko's. Arreola needs to be an effective aggressor, getting inside behind the jab. It would be great if he could cut off the ring (you hardly see anyone do that anymore) and work the body once inside. If not work the body, at least do some body work to get them to lower their hands to open them up. In truth I see either Klitschko using their reach, height, leaning back, moving side to side, and forcing Arreola into a shell and probably knocking him out. Arreola needs to be in condition, use some defense, and use his jab to have any chance.

mortcola:  Good analysis, DaveB. But more than that, Chris would need to be a different fighter. He doesn't even have the balance or technique of Tua, although he's taller and won't have the reach disadvantage. I've watched all his TV'd fights, and listened to the hype, but I just see him as a very crude, clumsy fighter. Good power, good heart, good chin. Maybe a George Chuvalo type, at least if it turns out he can hang in against the top guys. But not the great the HBO boys are yelling about. There is no way a top-ten fighter should have been tagged so much and beaten around like that by an amateur like Walker. Chris is fun to watch, and he has cojones. That's all.

EASTLOS GUANTES:  Arreola is not even the best Mexican Heavyweight.......Javier "MONSTER" Mora owns him...did in the amateurs did in sparring sessions.....THE NIGHTMARE is a product of GOOD MATCHMAKING....his hand has been held throughout his career!!! He is exciting and does have PELOTAS...I agree!!! If you do not believe these comments.....ask Henry...Chris' trainer....he will atest......Arreola is afraid of Mora!!!!!!!!

SchoolOfHardKnocks:  I hear that Samuel Peter wants to fight Arreola. If Arreola wins that fight then I would say he is no doubt a person that should fight the Klitschko's. I vision Arreola getting knocked out something ugly because Samuel Peter doesn't back up and neither does Arreola but watching Arreola against Walker, he is going to get hit with even harder shots because Peters hit harder then Walker. This fight will end in a KO

Javier:  Arreola wont go too far ,he is too easy to hit the Klitchko brothers will tear him apart but if he hits them they can kiss the canvas.

"It Takes A Special Man"
"It takes a special man to lace them on and step into a ring to either hurt or be hurt. It's always been my opinion that the greatest fighters (not necessarily the most commercially successful) are probably born with that never give up until I'm completely done attitude. It can be nurtured over time, but you either have it or you don't. When adversity hits, and it will, this instinct will allow you to reach inside for additional strength and determination. Ali, Louis, Gatti, Corrales had it....Marquez and Pacquiao have it. De La Hoya, for all the great things he did as a boxer never had it, Tyson didn't have It, Cotto doesn't have it, and as much as I hate to admit it because I loved to watch him fight, Chavez didn't have it. 99.9% of us don't have it either. That's why we're not all fighters and we can sit here and judge these courageous men from the comfort of our computers." ---TSS reader Juan Montelongo offers his take on the Victor Ortiz debate
