Curious: how many fight fans, or Mayweather fans, ponied up the $55 to see David slay Goliath?

Money Mania! Mayweather Gets WWE KO Win

By Michael Woods

Breath easy, fight fans. Floyd "Money" Mayweather is still undefeated, in the realm of pugilism, and pro wrestling, as he dropped "The Big Show" with some makeshift brass knuckles and scored a KO win a Wrestlemania 24 at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Sunday night.

The Big Show, listed at 7 feet tall, dwarfed Mayweather, at 5-7 plus, and Show, billed as "The Largest Athlete In The World,"  had a monstrous weight advantage (441 pounds to 159) over the visiting pugilist. Floyd used his mobility to avoid contact early in the match, but Show caught him, and got some licks in, before Money stormed back with some stiff punches, and his knockout shot. Mayweather looked comfortable in the world of masculine soap operas, the sports entertainment arena, and the effort looked considerably more credible than some other boxers' entries into the semi-scripted world of pro rasslin.

To start, Mayweather ducked a Show attempt at a lockup, and then another. Money got off some body shots after Show tried to corner the boxer. Money landed a right hand, then another. Floyd took a quick break to drink from a chalice, and show decked Floyd's drink provider. He smacked the provider with a forearm, then dragged him into the ring, and slapped him out just as fast.

Show grabbed Floyd and tried to stamp on his billion dollar hands, but Floyd slithered away quick. Show got him up for a chokeslam but Floyd peppered him with rights, and Show released his hold. Floyd hopped on his back, with a sleeper hold affixed, and Show dropped to his knee. Would Floyd put Show to sleep? Show's face turned crimson, but he managed to yank the little man off him. He then stomped on his left hand, and Floyd reacted like he'd been tasered. Show hurt Floyd with a chest smack, as Leonard Ellerbe protested, "He can't do that! He can't be steppin' on him!" to the deaf ears of the referee, who knew that this match called for no holds barred.

Show drew ooooos with a sideslam, and Floyd looked to be in deep water, with a lead life preserver attached to him. Floyd fought back with some body shots, but Show wouldn't back down. He dropped an elbow on the smaller man, and looked ready to finish the job. But Floyd was yanked out of the ring by his handlers, and they all proceeded to the dressing room.

Not so fast. Show came after them, and dragged Money back to the ring. A Mayweather handler stopped a chokeslam attempt with a chairshot, and got chokeslammed for his trouble. But Floyd grabbed his own chair, and he connected to Show's gut and then his back. But Show stopped a third try, and was ready to roar back, when Floyd caught him with a kick to the groin. Floyd took hold of the chair and slammed it on Show's head, and then repeated the act, twice. He grabbed a gold chain from an underling, wrapped them around his right fist, and punched Show in the jaw. Show was splayed out, on his belly, as the ref counted to ten.

Your winner, by KO, Floyd "Money" Mayweather.

Mayweather's ring entrance proved bountiful for some fans in attendance, as dollar bills dropped from the sky as Floyd strode to the ring. Fans soon found out, though, that the bills were fake, which is probably best, as a riotous scrum was averted. A Mayweather musical concoction blared over the PA as Mayweather, wearing a leather vest/shorts outfit, MMA gloves, and sunglasses, walked to the squared circle. He drew some boos, but many folks were transfixed with the money drizzle coming down from above. Mayweather advisor  Ellerbe was his chief second.

Pre-bout, viewers saw a recap of the Mayweather incursion into the pro wrestling world. Mayweather hopped out of the stands during a Feb. 17 show, and jawed with Big Show in the ring. Show got down on his knees, mocking Mayweather's lack of height, and the boxer answered him with a three punch combo that bloodied Show's mouth and nose. Floyd, after unleashing his lashes, broke a 40-yard dash record as he exited the ring, with Show lumbering after him in pursuit. A no disqualification, no time limit match at Wrestlemania was booked to decide who the better man is.

74,635 people showed up at the arena to take in the show, and sex tape superstar Kim Kardashian announced that number was a record for the building.

Sunday Mar 30, 2008
Saul:  JOKE, JOKE, JOKE. I cannot believe this crap.
Sunday Mar 30, 2008
Carl the great:  I wish Big Show would've stiffed him and ended this nobodies career. I mean, before he appeared at wrestlemania, nobody (in mainstream America) knew who he even was. And that is the sad state of affairs that Boxing is in these days having lost all of it's creditability. Plus MMA has pretty much taken over as the fight sport of choice for most Americans.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Eastar:  Yessss!!! Another success for the "Money" Man. Don't cry Cotto fans, as soon as MIguel Cotto drops Bob " The Pimp" Arum, He can become an enrtrepreneur, and transend boxing just like his idol..... Floyd "Monneneeeeey" Maaaaayyyyweather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hahahaha.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
natural:  mayweather will probably do the same exact thing to cotto. to all of you people constantly pushing mayweather/cotto.....be careful what you wish for. it is always a sad day to see your hero fall. mayweather by UD.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
BIGG:  What a bunch of cry babies, alway crying about what PBF is getting and doing. He has parlay his success into other venture, is jt envy or jealousy, don't worry be happy, just mad because you can't find anyone to beat him, get arum to put up 15 to 20 millions for cotto get your fight. other that shut up!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Nuckle:  Fake Sport or Real Sport PBF can't be beaten. And I bet all the PBF haters paid for the ppv. If you hate him or love he's still getting money because either way it goes you're paying to see him.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
dan:  i am i diehard boxing fan and personally feel saddened to that this event drew 75,000 what is the current record for boxing???
Monday Mar 31, 2008
BIGFREDO76:  yes that is correct Eastar as soon as Cotto takes control of his own career he will fight anybody he wants. But right now he is fighting pretenders.Remember this my friends JEALOUSY breeds ENVY and that is what all PBF haters have jealousy that there boxer cant get a date with the lottery ticket.Cotto stand up and tell Arum you want out of his stable and that ure ready to go out on your own.PBF congrats on ure huge payday and the belt from WWE.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Adrian:  You're right Eastar, Mayweather WILL fight Cotto and WIN; but only when he's sure that Cotto is on the decline as often happens early to more physical fighters. Bottomline: If the Cotto that fought Moseley fought the "Money-May" that fought Oscar, "Money-May" would be "Dis-May" ed at the calamitous results and look even more ridiculous than the whole world of professional wrestling and Don King's haircut put together.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
manboobs:  I got nothing against Floyd for making an easy payday. But I don't beleive for 1 second that this was a real fight, it's more like him being on that dancing show. If he would have won the dance off, you wouldn't be saying "he's unstopable" "he's the baddest mofo on the planet". The man won a scripted match against a monster. It's more like theatre than a fight, don't confuse them. Floyd Mayweather, Master Thespian!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Robert Curtis:  This is much more entertaining to read about than it was to see, I'm guessing. Great color commentary, Michael! I'll have to see if it is posted on the web somewhere. Sounds like there was more action in this fake bout than most of Money's so-called real fights. Will Money have time for a re-match with Big Show before he meets Oscar again? If McMahon has enough $$$ in his pimp hand, you can be sure Pretty Boy will turn up to be turned out.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Eastar:  Hey, Adrian, you mean the Cotto that ran from Mosley for the second half of the fight? That Cotto would not last ten rounds with the workhorse / gym-rat , "Money"!!! Miguel "Somebody Get Me a Big Payday" Cotto is stuck in a position many young boxers find themselves in - locked in to these big time promoters who have total control over who their fighters get in the ring with. Look at Cotto after every fight, he's like a robot..."I'll fight whoever my company wants me to fight". It's like he's programed.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
ken:  Brass knuckles. Guess it could have been worse. at least he didn't use a gun.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Salt lover:  YES!!!!!!!! Pretty Boy Floyd still UNDEFEATED and still intact and in another sport. A WWE Title in the stack. Congrats to Floyd. 100000000000% with you Eastar. If lil' baby Cotto grows up and becomes independent, then he'll get all the time he wants to get his ASS whooped real good. Floyd Mayweather jr #1 P4P, Welter and Fighter in the World. The rest are just the rest... Peace!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
scareweather:  you haven't fought anybody that is a top contender in any division you were in. You ducked all the dangerous fighters and still you are finding every you can to avoid the great fights. I am just one of many thousands of critics who has not gotten the respect you deserve in the world of boxing.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
linwood cottrell:  can you say my name on wwe nices hit on big show tell john cean what up
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Yuvie:  What a joke, first this, then a re-match with a guy he already defeated easily and then a re-match with a guy he already knocked out. PLEASE RETIRE MAYWEATHER and stick to wwf wrestling.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
rudy:  Where's the boxing news?
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Nuckle:  Big up Eastar. To the Cotto meat riders and PBF haters. Is he fighting the top welterweights? No he's fighting Gomez. You say PBF beat DLH who's not in his prime, if that's the case Cotto beat Mosley who's not in his prime. Go back and look at the last 4 fighters or better yet all the fighters that PBF and Cotto has fought and you tell me who fought the better comp and who ducks opponents. Wait, Cotto's not ducking anybody Arum is just his pimp and telling him who to sleep with and PBF is pimping hisself. Once again I am a Cotto fan, but him beating PBF. Be serious.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Salt lover:  OK, Mr. scareweather, nobody will never know you're donputo69. What a mystery HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Why you're always on his case? If he's not important to you, nor the best and he's just scared away, why the hell you even bother to criticize him? That's cuz you know he's the best. Simple. I criticize Cotto cuz his arrogant person when he's not the best neither Welter nor P4P. And cuz he's overrated status, but I know he can pack a punch, but I also know he's not gon' to survive 8 rounds with Floyd Mayweather. Peace! By the way TSS, why the HELL did you post Radam Geez's stupid comments?????? You always post stupid stuff on the Quote of Note thing. Better try sum' like me. Peace again.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Radam G:  All the hating is still in effect. Terrible! Money May will not have to toast Cotto. The month of April Fool(s) is coming up. And trust me, Cotto is going to win easy against the Contender-pretender Gomez. APRIL FOOL! Gomez is going to give Cotto pure hell. You saw those upsets during the month of March. It was a lot of eyes watching in March. Those eyes will be crying in April. The Crying Eyes of April. Holla!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Robert Curtis:  I demand that they put this one on Boxrec dot com! It's as valid as any recent PBF victory, like within the past five years. Money did fight some real fighters once, didn't he? Right? I'm getting old and can't quite remember. Floyd's next opponent should be with the eight foot tall guy who resides in China. You know the one I'm talking about, the one with the super-long arms who helped a cow through a difficult breach birth. Think it was a cow. Maybe a yak? In any event, I'm sure Money would negate the huge Chinaman's reach advantage with his superlative speed and squirrel-like reflexes. But maybe the tall man has his own brass knucks or a few secret Shaolin moves? Show Money the money and McMahon can make the match!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Radam G:  Paul "The Big Show" Wright would probably kayo all the Russians and bring the title back to America. Big Show! Big Show! Calling the Big Show! U.S. America needs you to come to boxing and clean up the heavyweight mess. Big Show cannot handle P4P Money May, but he could kayo 5'10 1/2, too much belly Samuel Peter. Big Show could kayo china chin Wlad Klitschko easily. And the other the Russian champ -- I cannot think of him right now, so I guess he's less than decent -- would surrender the alphabet title belt in fear. Changing the subject, a swarm of Pinoys are coming out of the Philippines to rule the hurt business in weight divisions 105 pounds to 140 pounds. I am looking for a Pinoy heavyweight. If the blood of a Pinoy runs in your veins, come on and be the first Filipino heavyweight boxing champion. Holla!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Adrian:  Appreciate your point of view Eastar; just my opinion thats all. and I disagree with you. Frankly, Moseley was beaten from the get go in that fight. his speed and technique were pretty well matched by Cotto and his power was ineffective. Money May is a great fighter, but, he's not an inside fighter or a physical fighter; his technique is to use his shoulder as a defence and pot shot the opponents openings fighting in spurts. No less formulaic than Cotto. No saying how he would cope with the pressure Cotto would apply. It would be a great matchup.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
BIGG:  B.S. ! scareweather. cotto and hatton duck him at 140, moseley and crintron duck him at 147 know your history champ! before you open your mouth , and beat all top 130, and 135 fighters p.s. don't steal donputo words
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Nuckle:  Everytime someone posts a hating comment I'm going to check them, espically if it's about PBF. I not going to put your name, but you know what you wrote. "Money May did fight some real fighters didnt he?" Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, De la Hoya, Baldomir, Sharmba Mitchell, Genarldo Hernandez, Ricky Hatton. Some of them are real fighters I would say and some are a little less than real. That's all I can think of now and that's an impressive resume right there. "He's not an inside fighter". Didn't the haters say that until he beat the breaks off of Hatton on the inside? You'll need to try something else, PBF has no weaknesses. Matter fact the only way he will lose is if he beat his self (mentally) which won't happen. Or if he get caught with a lucky shot (like how Rahman caught Lewis) and that's not going to happen.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Robert Curtis:  Radam G has been hitting the San Miguel, it seems. Good for him. Keep posting our favorite ROY front and center on TSS! If he doesn't make sense, he makes me laugh out loud. I'm not hating Mayweather. But I am watching my cholesterol and taking my vitamins in the hope that I might live to see Floyd fight a serious fight again.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Cotto's #1 Fan:  Hey Mayweather followers, nobody hates Mayweather. we just want him to fight the #1 and best conterder in boxing right now, and without question that's Miguel Cotto. I'm a big wrestling fan my self, but we all know it's only entertainment. c'mon, grow up Mayweather fans, get real. in a real fight the Big show would knock Mayweather's teeth down his throat. and by the way, every WrestleMania is a sell out year after year, this year wasn't any diffrent, Mayweather isn't the exception.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
donputo69:  hey BIGG?..you said scareweather has fought the best?..when?..at 130 maybe?..or 135?..what has he done lately?..NADA..and about the best now?..washed up gatti?..give me a break..shamba?.lmfao..zombie baldomir?..lol..little hatton?..lol..give me a break..washed up DLH?..ok BIGG..i get the point now..those are some great fighters he fought lately..
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Salt lover:  Radam I really don't understand what you say man. You said Cotto will win easily against Gomez, then you say Gomez's gon'give Cotto HELL? What the HELL are you talking about?????? And then, about crying eyes on March same crying eye in April, but Cotto will win easy?????? What the HELL are you talking about man?????
Monday Mar 31, 2008
donputo69:  adrian..you just wasting your time with dumb and dumber easter bunny and salty..they be posting comments that never make sense..so when you reply to easter bunny you just wasting your time..
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Radam G:  Robert Curtis, you reminded me of one of my old boxing coaches/trainers. Matter of fact, his name is Billy Joe Curtis. He always said that I was a funny dude -- full of jokes. But a kick-ass one. And I don't do alcohol or drugs or bad foods. If I ever catch you in the Philippines, I am going to drown you with "San Miguel" and load up your cholesterol with dinogoan, pansit and lumpia. No deep-well or mountain water, calamansi juice, lakwats, pineapples, mangos and bananas for you. They have too many good vitamins in them. I would not want you to turn into a Manny "Pera" Pacquiao. Holla! P.S. You go Nuckle! Check 'em, baby! And Salt Lover, get that blood pressure check. That hating is getting your pressure up. Hahahahahahaha! Marquez got punked!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Radam G:  Oh, yea! Salt Lover, the punkish, amateur-style fighting of Marquez got a lot of Pinoys a lot of money or like we say in Tagalog -- Maraming pera, talaga! We have been partying sea to sea, baby. Much love. Holla! P.S. Good to be back in the States. And I ain't even broke, yet. I made a bundle of cash. Thanks to the canvas kisser -- Marquez. I heard that Gomez is gunning for revenge of Mexican honor again Cotto. And this is no April Fool.
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Radam G:  Salt Lover, have you ever heard of April Fool -- a slick-worded joke on the unsuspecting or the naive during the month of April, usually on the first day. I guess you don't get it. Somebody HELP? Holla!
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Salt lover:  Radam, first of all Marquez is NOT my guy. My guy's Floyd Mayweather jr. And forget about April or March, I was just referring to what you said: "Cotto is going to win easy against the Contender-pretender Gomez. APRIL FOOL! Gomez is going to give Cotto pure hell." Cotto's gon' win easily, but Gomez is gon' give him hell????????????????? That's completely contradicting. I guess that Filippino booz's still running your blood. And concerning the Marquez fight, you KNOW Pacquiao lost, it's just your responsabilty to make BS excuses to defend that decision. No matter how robbed Marquez could of been, you was never gon' give the correct answer of what really happended. Your boy was about to congratulate Marquez and he cried like a baby when he heard the decision. He knows he lost. But it's all right. Hope you spend your cash very well. Enjoy the moment for as long as you can. How do you say "robbed" in Tagalog?
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Eastar:  Cotto is not even an exciting fighter.. to me anyway. Whats so exciting about seeing Cotto get his face busted up by whack -ass Zab Judah, a guy Cotto needed to land two low blows to beat? Whats so exciting about a young man like Miguel "The Slave" Cotto run from "Nutri-Sweet" Shane Mosley, a fighter past his prime-who he clearly had beat but couldn't finish the job? Everybody knows "Money " Mayweather is MR. HBO and he runs the show. I don't see the excitement in Mayweather vs. Cotto. Who wants to see a Master beat on a slave????
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
PACO:  This was the best Mayweather fight I've seen in years. Praise to Floyd for the big win. It should be noted that this was more meaningful than anything he's ever done in boxing. He has arrived. A glorious night and a glorious spectacle, one that I will never forget.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
rudy:  Radam, you make no sense.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
T.J:  Yeah Money still my man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew he would win its just that other people think he wasn't. Well not me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAVID SLAYED GOLITH Man HE DID IT Homey thats Floyd "money" Mayweather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! B**** F*** Big S***
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
ben o'connor:  this whole event is a joke to boxing and i think a lot of people who love the sport are thinking the same thing! would of rather seen rocky vs thunderlips II. At least that was only a film!! i wanna cry!!!
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
DaNumberMan:  I'm not a wrestling fan so I really don't care to comment on Floyd's exploits in the WWE. I rather talk about true welterwieghts and see true fights between true warriors. In my opinion everyone should stop worring about what Floyd is doing. Cotto doesn't seem to care any more so neither should you. Everything he's doing in boxing is irrelevant and meaningless to the sport. Fighting De la hoya twice is absolutely meaningless. It means nothing to anyone except Floyd and De la hoya. It's not even a fight worth watching. Fighting Ricky Hatton at welterwieght was also meaningless as Hatton got his ass kicked at Welter by Collazo. Anyone who thought Ricky had a chance was dreaming. Let's not talk about Zab, Baldormir, Gatti, NDou, Brusseles, Mitchell, Corley etc.... My prediction is that Floyd will throw a close fight against Oscar to set up a trilogy. Question of you floyd fans who is actually going to pay for the rematch?
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
DaNumberMan:  Also Is it just me or is it unprecedented for the winning fighter to request a rematch. First a rematch with oscar then a possible rematch with Hatton. I understand the business side of it but can any serious boxing fan say that they will pay $60 bucks for this. I won't. I would rather pay for Mosley Vs. Judah at least I will get my money's worth. I feel bad for the non main stream fans who don't know better and will be duped by the HBO hype machine to think this is a good fight and will be turned off from seeing other truly exciting fighters.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
Radam G:  Salt Lover, that was an April fool joke. Sorry that you cannot comprehend it. It is called sarcasm. And if Marquez won, so did Cory Spinks. Marquez landed bitch punches. PacMan landed wrecking ones. Bottomline, It was a pro bout, not an amateur one. The harder punches count, not sissy jabs and a few slapping right hands. And Rudy, you say senseless stuff on the regular. Holla!
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
Radam G:  One has to have proper schooling to comprehend. And antipathy against any ethnicity is trifling, Rudy! Holla!
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
Solo:  Radam, do you really think they are going to know what antipathy means without looking it up? They say you don't make sense, but I think it is bacause there vocabulary is lacking. How hard is it to get an April Fools joke. You know, you say something, but don't mean it, followed by saying "April Fools!"
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
Solo:  I guess my vocab needs some work too. It was their, not there.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
dominic:  mayweather is the best
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
serge the great:  Big show should have won but I guess his freaken fat ass couldn't defeat a man who weighs 243 pounds lighter than him. big show sure knows how to talk but he can't walk and talk.he got nothing!.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
ric flair:  I think the both of them are great wrestlers but I got to say I was expecting big show to do excellent but his prediction of ending his carrer was all a myth.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
Nuckle:  To the broke people that don't like "Money". You are questioning and doubting if PBF fought the best. ALL of those guys I named are better than all of the so called "real welterweights". He hasn't been a welterweight his whole career to be ducking true welterweights, probably 3 or 4 years I dont know.. He been a champ for 10 years and started his career at featherweight. And the welterweight division has just started rising with all of these good fighters. Cotto just became a superstar last year and the rest of the welterweights just made a name last year. Was he suppose to fight Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, Quintana, Williams and any other bums you can think of. in 2006? Were they ready for him in 2006? They will never be ready for him. In 2006 he fought the 2 best welterweights and previous years he fought the best and who he was supposed to fight. Last year he went for the money and beat the Goldenboy at 154 and the undefeated Hatton.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
Nuckle:  Once again, to the broke people that don't like "Money". You say everything he does is meaningless and irrelevant to the sport. He's the #1 superstar in the sport, everytime he show his face on tv anywhere it helps the sport. If he showed up at the Country Music Awards or competed in a hot dog eating contest or whateva......... he brings attention to the sport. That attracts more attention and fans and more reason to make big fights. I bet those wwe fans who are not boxing fans tune in to PBF next fight.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
BIGG:  Everybody knew when PBF was with arum and hbo everybody duck him. when he left arum, they try to make the margaito fight for pennys, now when he's his own man, there putting out this proganda, about the best fighter its a bunch of crap. Donputo you boxing history, you know I speak the truth. Show me the Money, is PBF motto now, as soon has Cotto wakes up, he'll make that money too.
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
dallas:  how do you beat all those boxers
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
JAYBIRD:  ALL YOU HATER ON MONEY MAYWHETHER I TOLD YOU'LL HE WAS GOING TO WIN THIS MATCH I COULD BEAT THE BIG SHOW MYSELF
Tuesday Apr 1, 2008
scareweather:  who's next DLH again!!!!what a joke, ya'll not ashamed of being a fan of that. After him he is going for the next washed up fighter.
Wednesday Apr 2, 2008
DaNumberMan:  Yea. He gets attention but not for fighting. For acting like an immature jerk. The attention is good for hm but not for boxing. How many casual fans were disapointed when they saw the Hoya fight. That fight did not make any new fans for boxing. It just made Money more money. For the most part people tune him to see him get beat because of the persona he portrays not because he's made fans of them. Money latest fights. Oscar, Hatton, Zab, Baldormir, Gatti, NDou, Brusseles, Mitchell, Corley etc You gotta be kidding me. Not one name their is a factor in any division. 3 of Cotto previous opponents have yet to lose and are now champions after their defeat to Cotto while money's opponents continue to lose to lesser and lesser opponents.
Wednesday Apr 2, 2008
Cotto's #1 Fan:  DaNumberMan, I don't know who you are, but that was a great, perfect article. couldn't have said it better my self ever! It's not rocket science Mayweather fight's anybody, unless of course, you're his fan. Great article.
Wednesday Apr 2, 2008
Robert Curtis:  If Radam G can fly this high straight, I am truly inspired. Consider me in recovery!
Wednesday Apr 2, 2008
Cotto's #1 Fan:  I mean't that he doesn't fight anybody, my mistake.
Wednesday Apr 2, 2008
morgan:  hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhhahhahhahahahh
Wednesday Apr 2, 2008
Salt lover:  Yeah, well in Boxing Stats there is something called THROWN and there is another called LANDED. There is no: sissy punch, nor slapping stats. Either LANDED or MISSED, THAT"S what counts. And talking about HARDER PUNCHES, which I think you're trying to say well here they are: POWER PUNCHES Marquez LANDED 130 out of 310 that's 42%. Wacquiao LANDED 114 out of 305 that's 37%. Now, who the HELL landed the harder punches, Ramada Geez?? You, Arum and most importantly Wacquiao knows Marquez won. You wanted to talk about hard punches, well Marquez LANDED more.

"It Takes A Special Man"
"It takes a special man to lace them on and step into a ring to either hurt or be hurt. It's always been my opinion that the greatest fighters (not necessarily the most commercially successful) are probably born with that never give up until I'm completely done attitude. It can be nurtured over time, but you either have it or you don't. When adversity hits, and it will, this instinct will allow you to reach inside for additional strength and determination. Ali, Louis, Gatti, Corrales had it....Marquez and Pacquiao have it. De La Hoya, for all the great things he did as a boxer never had it, Tyson didn't have It, Cotto doesn't have it, and as much as I hate to admit it because I loved to watch him fight, Chavez didn't have it. 99.9% of us don't have it either. That's why we're not all fighters and we can sit here and judge these courageous men from the comfort of our computers." ---TSS reader Juan Montelongo offers his take on the Victor Ortiz debate
