MACAO, CHINA (November 16, 2014) – Just one day after arriving in Macao, undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight champion CHRIS ALGIERI resumed his promotional roadwork for the biggest fight of his professional life – challenging Fighter of the Decade and reigning WBO welterweight champion Congressman MANNY “Pacman” PACQUIAO. On a busy Sunday in the St. Mark’s Square section of the Shoppes at Venetian, Algieri made a public appearance where was greeted by hundreds of fans, posed for photos and answered questions about his career and this Saturday’s battle with Pacquiao.

“With one million square feet of retail space and over 350 stores at the Shoppes at Venetian I think I can get in my daily roadwork and my Christmas shopping, all at the same time,” said Algieri to the delight of fans and shop owners alike. “I love Macao. It was great during my last visit on the promotional tour and it is even better this time. I am glad to be able to spend more time here.

“I worked hard for over 10 weeks in the most strenuous and productive training camp of my career. I had a lot of different sparring partners, including Zab Judah, giving me different looks to prepare me for anything Pacquiao decides to throw at me. I am 110% prepared for our fight.”

When asked how a fighter could be so handsome, Algieri responded, “Every time I enter the ring I look to improve and perfect my master-boxer style of fighting — utilizing the space inside the ring to my advantage. Good defense is the key to preserving my handsomeness,” Algieri continued to the laughter and shrieks from his female fans.”

Algieri concluded his public appearance by presenting three contest winners with Algieri and Pacquiao-autographed boxing gloves and posing for photographs with them.

Algieri will resume light training on Monday morning and meet with the first wave of U.S. media to arrive in the afternoon.

Algieri (20-0, 8 KOs), from Huntington, NY on Long Island, has Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management, a Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Upsets Inside the Ring. Algieri, who aspires to attend medical school when he concludes his boxing career, has become sports’ Horatio Algieri story! All of New York is riveted to its only world champion as he prepares to battle Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs), the lone congressional representative from the Sarangani Province of the Philippines, and boxing’s only eight-division world champion. All four of New York’s daily newspapers plus most major U.S. news outlets will be in Macao to chronicle fight week.

Oh no. The pressure might be getting to him. Coming of as obnoxious is a bad sign for team Algieri. That right eye might not be working 100% after his last bout. Everyone knows Adrian Boner is the best looking 140 lb boxer in the world. I say after coach Lane throws in the towel in 6 days they should have Broner vs Algieri in a mirror match. Both fighters can look at themselves in the mirror between rounds and say how handsome they look. Broner will say he looks like a billion bucks whole Chris will repeat master boxer over and over.

We already have a hex on the Rex. That's right! We have nicknamed C-Al after the long-arse extinct dinosaur. Dude is beginning to look quite Rex. And now here on the M-Island, he is moving dinosaur Rex slow as heck. And from bad nerves, one can see his neck is beginning to peck. Dinosaur Rex C-Al is going to be easy to deck. Hehehehe! Notice in the media feeds coming out Macau, how I will keep popping in sight from hiding in plain sight. C-Al is already spooked. He's not going to be able to sleep through the night. WITH FIVE NIGHTS TO GO, AND A WAKE UP, C-Al is mentally drained and not ready for this fight. He cannot handle the limelight. And on the wrong type of food, he's already taken a bite. We got him in a trance, and he will not be able to dance. We have spies everywhere. And C-Al already has a dead man's thousand-yard stare. Dude is looking like a long-tall pretty-boy mummy who needs a shave. Hey, Commish! Call your homeboy and tell him to shave that beard. He's looking like a Viking. I hope that he doesn't get so frighten that he tries to sneak off the M-Island in a junk ship. Hehe! Holla!

-Pazuzu :

He'd better have a good defense. Pacquiao didn't do a lot to help Margarito's looks.

-Froggy :

Like Radam G said he might try to get off the island on a junk boat ! Ali was worried about George Foreman trying to get out of Africa before their rumble in the jungle so told everyone to watch the airports and the elephant caravans and river boats or anyway Big George could escape ! They better do the same thing for C-Al so he can't get away, although I don't think they have to worry about elephant caravans in Macau !

Or his eye

-Radam G :

Or his eye
YUP! Da Manny's ex-sparringmate tSR jived up C-Al's right's eye. Da Manny is going to mess up C-Al's other eye and both of his orbitals, his nose, teeth, jaws, liver and ribs. C-Al imagines that he is fast and a "master boxer." But he will come to the realization of his illusion the first time that he is hit by Da Manny in dat squared jungle. And C-Al's new "secret weapon right hand," let his other trainer Keith Trimble tell it, misses Da Manny. "Chris has no problems with southpaws," according to Trimble. "He fought them in kickboxing, and he has beat and knocked out (three) in boxing." [For the true record, the "undefeated" kickboxing C-Al was knocked da double fudge out in the reality of the actuality of Kickboxing by a southpaw.
->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7aHx5wzIn0 . But in C-Al's alternate reality he wasn't. And he is going to knock out Da Manny. "Because Manny has been knocked out before, and he can't handle a master boxer's movement or speed.... "He couldn't handle Bradley's movement. And I'm faster than Bradley."> OMFG! C-Al, for all his mouthing is going to get KTFO in four rounds or less. One or two would not surprise me. C-Al is going to be in a pugilistic super-nova storm. His good looks are going to become quite grotesque. But there are great plastic surgeons who can fit him up again. Holla!

Brilliant - I agree with everything you said.

-stormcentre :

Wel . . . I hope for Chris' sake that his self promotion can be lived up to. Master Boxer skills preserving handsome looks. Not that I would know (my prediction rate lately has been abysmal), but I doubt he has (traditionally; the harder of the two) boxed any lefty like Pacquiao.

-brownsugar :

Well he's in the deep end of the pool now... Like Nazim says... Let's see if he can swim without getting wet.

-stormcentre :

Yes, it's run with the big dawgs or cower under the porch time. If Algieri pulls this off . . . beating Ruslan then Pacquaio, both from the WC gym . . it will be sensational and probably one of the most incredible rises to the top of boxing in quite a few years. If he doesn't and Pacman rips through him like a sheet of unwanted A4 errors going through an industrial shredder, then Pacquaio gets to talk KO victories again on ESPN.

-Skibbz :

'Cause Nazim knows you can't swim without getting wet!!! Algieri doesn't know how to ride shots and fire back his own. He can only pedal pedal pedal whilst keeping his long arm in the face of the opponent. He does Bizarro proud.

-GreatBoxing :

The facts are facts - He is good looking for a fighter - mainly because he is not all "fighter" And he does have good defense - even if Roach wants to call it "running" - running or boxing skills - either way it helps him from getting hit. The truth is that many will have problems with CAL - he is younger than De La Hoya was and Manny is older now. I hope he gives Manny a good fight -

-SouthPaul :

PAC's hand speed looked extra lightening quick in those recent 24/7 workout clips. If he brings that to this fight Aligeri will find himself down several times just like Marquez in that opening round. Where it goes from there I'm unsure but I definitely see a variety of knockdowns very early on.

Thirty-years old is old for welterweight. So C-Al is old himself. And maybe older because of the one-round beating that he got from tSR. And no matter how live-jive suckas try to spend it, Da Manny has never taken a prolonged arse thrashing. He was banged out with single shots. He is a young 36 in December. And C-Al is an old as heck 30. And it will show in four days and a wake up. Holla!
