Juan Manuel Marquez MAYBE Next For Robert Guerrero

juan-manuel-marquez

The grapevine had Amir Khan gloving up with Robert Guerrero, and the Twittersphere seemed to dig that style clash.  The grapevine had it wrong though; in fact, Khan will meet ex welter champ Devon Alexander on Dec. 13, in a scrap to be presented on Showtime, which leaves Guerrero looking for a dance partner.

I asked Ghost's co-adviser and cornerman Bob Santos what happened to a Khan-Guerrero bout, and what might come next for the fighter who impressed in his last outing, getting a fan-friendly UD12 over Yoshi Kamegai on June 21. “The Alexander fight is a better style matchup for Khan, that's for sure,” Santos told me. “Khan has avoided Robert for years. We're not sure what's next, Juan Manuel Marquez is a possibility. We will see.”

Nothing not to like about that one, folks. Your thoughts?

Wow! First! That is bull that Amir "The None Great" Khan has avoided the Ghost Guerrero. And I doubt that Juan Manuel Marquez fights with him. The Pugvine is whirling with wind about Andre Berto and Hulkquez locking full-of-dat-syet horns. Maybe the humbugging, gun-carrying Ghost Guerrero can dance with Bam Bam Rios. Holla!

A fighter with limited movement against Khan? Guerrero must think he can get lucky.

The IBO has moved from a fringe alphabet-$anctioning organization to one of the BIG BOYS. Thanks to the constant noting of HBO, Showtime, ESPN and major newspapers and popular cyberspace boksing universes LOUDLY announcing that the uber popular 3g and Doc Wlad K were IBO champions. Just as what the uber popular middleweight world champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler and heavyweight world Larry Holmes did with the television powers of ABC Wide World of Sports, CBS Sports Spectacular and NBC Boxing to bring acceptance of the corrupted Robert Lee's 1980$ founded IBF by being recognized champions, 3g and Doc Wlad have done for the IBO. Now its looking as if number #1 ranked lBO contender Juan Manuel Marquez will be getting his shot to become a five-division champion. Holla!

Guerrero vs JMM is a good match.... These guys were made for each other. Two blown up welters with a lot to give. A minimum of movement A maximum of trading Mexican style. JMM will have met his match in the "who can take it" department. Please make it happen

I don't think this fight is happening. Guerrero is with Haymon and Marquez with Top Rank. Unless one changes positions, this fight is not going to happen unfortunately. Its a great hypothetical matchup and an absolute pick em fight. But we are probably not going to see it. I think Guerrero is going to get another Haymon charge next, maybe Roberto Garcia. Guerrero will fight sporadically in very winnable fights until something much bigger presents itself. As for Marquez, if Rios-Alvarado III happens and Rios wins I see that fight materializing. Or the Bradley rematch could be possible as well.

Not a chance in space or time that Marquez dance with Bradley again -- full of dat, and metamorphosizing into Hulkquez, or as the now old zombie moving-and-fighting Marquez. Holla!
