Wladimir Klitschko vs. Kubrat Pulev Off; Injury Delays Klitschko Defence Title

Hamburg – World heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko must postpone his IBF title bout with Kubrat Pulev. During his sparring, Wladimir suffered a torn muscle fibre in his left biceps. The fight is likely to be held before the end of the year in Hamburg.

Wladimir Klitschko will have to miss four weeks of training. “I am very disappointed the fight will not go ahead,” Wladimir Klitschko said. “So far I have been in top shape and had a great training camp. I am sorry for my fans as well as my opponent Kubrat Pulev, who has surely prepared just as intensely.”

Yep...a few hours ago, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions tweeted out, "Unfortunately, news is true that Wladimir Klitschko injured himself in camp & Sept. 6 fight vs Pulev needs to be postponed." Apparently, the injury was to Klitschko's hamstring. It is said the injury is not serious (such as a tear), but it will keep him from running for a few weeks. The promotion is looking at a re-scheduled date sometime in October. -Randy G.

What is going on in the heavyweight division? Wilder and Briggs are the only guys not hurt and in shape. Chisora out with a hand injury, Fury out for mental anguish, Stiverne out with hand injury and gluttony and now W. Klit.

I hope he don't start falling apart physically like big bro did. He is really the only (except Wilder) HW in decent shape who isn't just a brawling fat guy. HW's are in 2 catagories now. Champ (Vlad) and chumps (da rest!!).

Stiverne out for "gluttony" haha Is it a bicep or a hamstring injury?

"Gluttony." LMAO. Don King had to send him to a "Fat Farm" for rehab. From what I understand, Klit has suffered a tweak of the hamstring. Can't run for a week or two. Maybe Vitali can step in for little bro'! -Randy G.

I have been checking out Pulev and the man has some good skills. He has a great jab, moves his head and sets up combinations on the inside. He would give W. Klit a fit. Check out his fight against Tony Thompson and see how he handles a big man. He might be able to get through WK's jab and if he can do that we will have a good fight on our hands.
