In my opinion Joshua beat Cotto fair and square!

I agree Bernie and so did Emanuel Stewart who was calling the fight. Joshua Clottey is one of the better defensive fighters in the fight game, a master of the "peek a boo" guard. The Pac-Man fight remains a mystery. Clottey didn't seem like he was mentally there the night of the fight. Some close to the fight game have insinuated that the fight was fixed. However, he has had a solid career. Factor in the close defeat he had to Margarito, who was possibly cheating; the close split decision lost to Cotto, the lost to Manny, and the career definining wins against Judah and Corrales. Not a bad body of work, he was a B+/A level fighter at his peak and the question now is, "what does he have left?"

Can't blame the man for wanting to pocket another purse... his last purse ...although huge....wasn't going to last forever. I can see Clotty beating a banger like Curtis Stevens with his solid defense but not the top players at 160. .

Danggit, SRD! Don't get caught up in that fixed nonsense. Clottey ate some Texican chili food that didn't agree with him. He had the shyts in Da Manny's bout, and couldn't fight as usual, or Da Manny would have kayoed him. Clottey was on the toilet stool for a couple of days afterwards. Hehehe! All boxers stay away from the Texas chili food when there. I heard that Texican chili food jived up Austin Trout too, along with that chicken crossing the street, the black cat and a full-blue moon. Hahaha! Holla!

Hilarious, you are too much!

I read that too with clottey. Why would u eat chilli before te fight? Or within three days of it even? It's all mental. If I'm on an agenda I won't stray on diet. I've never had to be in a boxing camp but I have been in baseball camps and although some players had family sneak in junk i never mentally wanted it. Clotteys biggest fight and stage of his life and he's eating Texas fair chilli. Haha.

Brown sugar! Don't ever make a comparison about Clottey to Stevens! Clottey was a far better fighter! Clottey had balls that were fire tested! I would imagine for a Ghanian, to make it in the states, and fight on a high level like he has, without fanfare, PR, and Hype like Stevens does, was the equivalent Dominico Moduno changing the face of Music in Lamerica without the benefit of nobody knowing what the heck he was singing about! Both astounding feets!

I'm with you Bernie, Clotty IS a far more proficient and skillful fighter than Stevens.

Clottey won 6 rounds, but Cotto won the fight. As a Cotto fan I am even willing to admit that Clottey let him off the hook. That 1st round jab that made Clottey stumble literally swung the fight. I don't know who was training Clottey that night, but after the cut over Cotto's left eye in the third round Clottey should have thrown right jabs and crosses for the rest of the night. It was obvious that Cotto could not see them coming yet he did not throw them with regularity.
